Condos are privately owned so each one likely has a different "feel." But both were in great shape, VERY clean and comfortable---plus lots of bath towels, extra pillows and blankets. Ample parking, the shared hot tub is open air and very nice and clean. The location is fantastic, extremely east and fast access to the lifts/ski mountain. Finally the staff is wonderful: extremely helpful and friendly, we were able to arrive early and check out late AND they contacted us when they found an item mistakenly left behind.

After an advertised power trip, the manager had to demonstrate... it opened in the middle of June. Just two months prior to closing. The reservoir is WAY more comfortable. The windows here are either warped or rotten... the animals and pets have been threatened by the manager. "They will be "TRAPPED BY THE LOCAL HUMANE SOCIETY!!!" (Quote) if he sees them outside. Even though this complex advertises "outside cats OK". Maintenance has to be done by tenent to ensure completion within any reasonable time frame. 50$ fines PER DAY for late rent, leaving top off BBQ, etc. Happens so much here that the property managers nickname is, "50$ D". NO hot water in laundry room. Dryers will not dry clothes without running several cycles through. Quite often you may have to step over sleeping homeless in the laundry room. Have seen homeless bathing in the pool last season, after hours. Crime is rampant in this immediate area. Things are stolen off of the property, cars are broken into with windows smashed. If it were possible to give a minus star??? That would be a better, more honest rating, to help keep potential incoming tennant's safe. The bait? The complex LOOKS like one of the nicer ones in the area.

We arrived and found things pretty cramped, no big deal, however going to sleep felt like we had the entire HVAC unit in our room, so sleep was lost to us as it was too loud. If we turned the heat off to try to sleep the drafts in the windows and doors would have left us freezing cold. The third night the ski resort ran the snow maker until 2am, no exaggeration, it sounded like a leaf blower right outside our door. Things got so bad we barricaded the door with an extra mattress. I've yet to hear any response from Kandahar regarding these problems. Wifi is not the greatest so don't expect a lot. The ski in/ski out option is nice, but not for what you pay as this is literally the only benefit to staying at Kandahar. I will not return and suggest others take this into consideration when looking for a place, this is just another company demanding a high price simply because they can without much to offer. Broken vanity lights, doors that blow open and won't close (bathrooms, bedrooms), handrails that splinter into your hands (or ruin your gloves) as you maneuver up and down the long staircases in ski boots and gear to get to the ski areas near kandahar. Hot tub hours at ridiculous and they claim to be 'working on the hot tub' frequently and I don't know who would want to trek towards of 4 staircases in frigid Temps just to get to the hot tub anyway. Laundry only available during hours you'd rather be doing something else... 4-730.

The major disappointment I had here was the sauna / hot tub was not operating. Honestly that was one of the primary reasons we picked that spot, but sadly it wasn't functional and they had no ETA on when it would be fixed. The rooms are very cute. I love the decor. The space seemed clean, though the carpets and comforters less so. It's a ski / snowboard hotel with a lot of (wet) foot traffic, so that's somewhat to be expected. The location is excellent. You are quite close to the lifts. I like that they have ski / snowboard lockers on the ground floor so you don't have to lug your wet gear up to your room. Bonus! They have a little market where you can get food and such. They stay open until 8pm which is quite nice for grabbing some last-minute supplies / snacks for the evening. I made sure to re-up on the wine and cheez-its. You know, the Essentials. I would return... but only if I could confirm that the hot tub is actually working!
