We shopped the local market La Boqueria which was amazing in itself. Then we went up stairs to learn how to cook 5 dishes all from scratch (fish stock included). We meet new people in the class who were visiting Barcelona as well and the whole experience was fantastic! When I returned home I saw an email from our instructor with all the recipes and directions to refresh our memory so we could try these dishes at home. Highly recommend if your interested in taking a cooking class or even just a little curious. It was money very well spent.

His techniques and instructions made everyone, no matter their experience in cooking, able to create our delicious meal.

We started off on a 45 minute tour of the market, familiarizing us with the market layout and history. We had a small ham tasting as well with Serrano vs Iberian ham. The prep was done in various stages with the kids actively preparing the five dishes- gazpacho, tomato garlic toast, Spanish omelette, seafood paella and crème brûlée. There was plenty of white and red wine as well. The experience was not only fun but the people I met were lovely.
