Nodding nicely to the charity collector outside, you'll be faced with a selection of ready-to-eat sandwiches, the flowers and then a non-intuitive store layout: bread is halfway towards the back, refridgerated goods to your left, a limited selection of condiments and a wild assortment of greetings cards just before the checkouts. Prices are standard for any M&S in London, but this supermarket is especially small. I'm always impressed with how much stuff the staff are able to accommodate here, but often they just don't have what I want on their shelves. Moreover, the checkout staff are not the friendliest I've ever met, and regularly there has only been one checkout person despite the number of customers. It's a good little supermarket; just don't hold your breath for more unusual items.

The beer isn't just your run of the mill stella. Instead it is a selection of bottled beers from both the UK and overseas which are more unusual. I haven't worked my way through them all (yet) but there are no doubt lots of enjoyment to be had doing so. Of those sampled so far the beer brewed by the Redchurch Brewary has been particularly good, if a little pricey.

Laithwaits (wine shop with a focus on unique international wines) boasts its own wine bar and tasting room called the Arch Bar and we got there just in time for Happy Hour. Got a couple glasses each of their dry whites and loved the variety and ability to taste them before ordering. 3£ per glass. Great place to come with groups as they have a large community style tasting table in the middle. Would definitely try and find my way back here next time I am in London!
