I rate their fish and chips very highly, particularly their Northwoods Walleye fish and chips which is only available during Lenten season. It's hard to find a fresh water fish and chips and Culvers of all places has it. Their cod fish and chips which are available year round is also excellent. I would rate their fish and chips against anyone in Phoenix. Service here is great, all the staff is friendly. The inside has some carpet and an "at-home" type interior, something that is missing at a lot of fast food places nowadays. In addition, they have plenty of outdoor seating if you want a nice view of the parking lot. They serve Coke products. Hamburgers...their butter burgers area bit rich and heavy if you're not used to it. They also have cheese curds if you've never tired them before, this is the place! They have custards as their deserts which are available in either to-go container form or you can have it as a sundae also. My wife loves the Turtle sundae. And, considering how many places 'serve' this, or a facsimile there of it in the Valley, it is amazing how atrocious most of them are! Even at some mid to upper level restos. Within the Valley, Culver's seems to have the most consistent, tasty, seemingly fresh, incredible presentation of, and delectable of Fish & Chips! Culver's is not your typical fast-food joint - it's actually difficult to call it such! Although it has its regular brand or items on its menu and some occasional special offerings... it just doesn't fit the complete mold. Over the years, I have devotedly tried almost everything on their menu. Most well above average. Regardless of whether we've done the Chicken, Fish, the fab Butter Burgers, yummy Frozen Custard, terrific Cheese Curds or their scrumptious fries - we've been consistently happy and satisfied. As far as Fast Food goes, as to make it easy to gauge each of these places, when I do try them, I've devised a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being outright down and dirty nasty, and 5 being the best a fast-food joint can be! I gauge: 1) cleanliness; 2) quality service; 3) product quality and consistency; 4) convenience; 5) accessibility; 6) taste; and 7) the personnel's attitude and customer service level. I do not review any location without visiting it a minimum of twice. This place scores 4.5 of 5. I may come back and wholeheartedly recommend them! Again, although Culver's overall rating from me as a fast-food establishment goes, to me they're on my top five Valley wide locations for Fish & Chips! Their fries are good, as well as, their coolers which taste like my favorite slurpee. The drive thru staff member was nice. Is this because the food is made fresh or because they're slow? I'm not sure. It was a large meal. It took awhile to eat it. I ordered cheese curds. They're always yummy. My burger was good as well. The double strawberry flavor of the day one scoop in a dish had a strange flavor to it and was already slightly melted when it arrived to my car. A lot of times the ice cream is served before you're given the food order. Anyways, it was an okay experience. It's fast food. Better than a lot of other options but a bit expensive. Very disappointed, the last time I ate here i got the cod sandwich with fries and cheese curds and got a severe allergic reaction. I chalked it up to something I ate somewhere else. But when I went back ordered the exact same meal it happened again, prior to me ordering inlet them know I had a shrimp allergy. And I found out after I had to use my Epipen, that they fry all their food in the same grease so they fry their Cod an cheese curds in the same fryer as the shrimp. They offer friendly and efficient service. Order at the front counter, and you get your drink cup and a numbered sign. Sit down with your drink, and your meal is brought to you. I had the grilled chicken salad with cashews-with the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Afterwards, I ate my chocolate fudge with cookie dough frozen custard, which was rich and satisfying.
