Plus I took in a pair of R.M. Willams Craftsman Boots for a more traditional heel and sole repair. Nick's resoled the Blundstone's with Vibram soles, including a chunky, seriously treaded winter set and the boots are now probably better than when I bought them. The R. M. Williams ones also look great. They can't perform absolute miracles, of course, so if you have small cuts in the leather they are permanent (though usually disguisable with a bit of polish or wax) but a bit of use is to be expected in a boot. P.S., I have no idea why my profile says San Francisco, as I live in Toronto and have never even been to that part of California.

He did a fantastic job, especially cleaning the beige boots that looked like new with no evidence of a food stain across the boot and the laces. I wish I had taken pictures of the before so i could post it. I also brought a pair of shoes to be resoled and reheeled, he said that he could not repair them to a high standard and not to waste my money. This is what great customer service is all about. When I need my shoes/boots repaired and cleaned again this will be my first and only stop!

He will never try to sell you on anything that you don't need and is totally honest with you. I got some work done on a couple shoes including a heel lower, installing vibram soles and french plates at the tip of the shoe. He was very fair with the pricing and gave me a discount for doing multiple shoes at once. He walked me through everything that he was going to do with the shoe and explained the whole process (which is very helpful since I know nothing about it and why it costs the prices he charges). When I went to pick up the shoes he already knew what I was there for and showed me the work, which was amazing. I couldn't be happier with the modifications to the shoes and they will definitely help preserve the longevity of the soles. I'll definitely be coming back to get other work done on them in the future.

Prior to going to this store, I went to the shoe repair in the laneway between Metro and the Hot House Cafe on Front St. The owner at this store told me the cost would be $85 which would include $20 for polishing my boots. I said that I did a great job polishing my boots on my own, so could he deduct $20 from the cost and I'd forgo the polish job. This man refused so I went down the street to 10 Lower Jarvis St. (inside the Loblaws building) and am I happy that I did. Saved $50, got a complimentary shine and excellent service! It's now just over one month later and one of the soles has come unglued at the heel. Do I even go back to have it fixed? There's a different place on my way to work. I'd rather go there and pay than back to have Jose do the work for free (assuming he'd fix it for free).
