Dr. Kimberley encouraged me to take some extra lab tests (blood, saliva) so we could be certain about what may be causing my symptoms. I have gone to other naturopaths who do little more than guess at the cause of symptoms (for example, one naturopath treated me for candida overgrowth, but the blood test I did with Dr. Kimberley shows my candida as healthy). This ensures that I am spending my time and money focused on the right things to get me feeling great! I'm feeling better than I have in years, and this is primarily due to diet. Dr. Kimberley has developed her own meal plan, along with weekly grocery shopping lists, and not only is the food amazing, but it has me feeling amazing too!

I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease years ago and my villi have not grown back despite a strict Gluten Free diet. Neither one of us had ever seen a Naturopath before, due to the old stigma around naturopathic medicine. After having such bad experiences with Doctors and feeling hopeless, we both decided to give it a shot. After lots of Google research, I came across Dr. Lindsay Irwin at Marda Loop Naturopathic and Wellness Clinic. When I first called to book my husband's appointment, I spoke with Layle. She gave me an excellent first impression of the clinic, and patiently answered my many questions. Whenever I have spoken with Layle to book appointments since, she's been very kind and genuinely cares about how you are doing. Our Doctors really gave Layle the run-around to get copies of our Lab Results, but she was determined to help us. We really wanted to get Dr. Irwin's second opinion and find out what she thought would be the best measures to take to improve our health. We can both honestly say that Dr. Lindsay Irwin has changed our lives for the better! After our first appointments, we were both blown away by her Clinical knowledge. Also, I have never met a better listener in my life. I had gotten so accustomed to dismissive Doctors with the attitude that they know everything. Dr. Lindsay Irwin listens, she believes you, she cares, and she gives you hope. You don't just have to learn to live with your diagnosis, imagine that! There's things that you can actually do to improve your chronic conditions and isn't some hogwash medicine. For treatment that actually works, go see Dr. Irwin, and she'll change your life too!

I only had an initial consultation where I spoke for an hour with the naturopath about my daily life, diet, and such. She performed some "natural' tests on me and then spoke with me afterward on what she found. I had a couple qualms with my appointment. The first was that she asked me what I was concerned about in my diet. I replied with possibly caffeine, gluten, and dairy. When she was done her tests, she recommended that I cut down on my caffeine, gluten, and dairy intake. It seemed like I was just being fed back the info I had told her. Also, this clinic does not do blood work and will send to you another clinic to have an allergy test done. This meant that my benefits would not cover the expenses of this test. There are lots of other naturopathic clinics that will do this test in house, making it more convenient and possibly free, depending on your health care coverage. Overall, it was an okay experience but I would try another clinic next time I want to see an naturopath.

I did my initial appt and was brought to the room to get the IV, the Naturopath's do their own injections here which is different from the other place I was going where they had an actual nurse doing it. Anyways, she found the vein and did the needle, it worked and then somehow the needle moved and the blood stopped so she had to pull it out. It hurt. And still hurts. She proceeded to try another vein, it didn't work and she pulled it out. Another dr came and started giving me a lesson about veins, tried ANOTHER vein and it didn't work. It's so frustrating, the whole time they were overly positive as if to try to pretend that it wasn't painful or annoying!! Yes my veins can be alittle low but if someone knows what they are doing they get it every time. I finally said enough, I don't want to keep trying because my arm hurts and I'm going to have bruises all over. They pretended to be understanding but I still felt like somehow it was my fault and how dare I feel negatively about my experience. The icing on the cake...I was about to leave and they stopped me saying I have to pay 25 for a supply fee, I asked what supply fee. I was told for the bag of vitamins that was used. Oh you mean the bag of vitamins that I didn't even get to use as I'm walking out of your clinic with sore and bruised arms. So tired of professionals hiding behind this fake positive spin on everything and minimizing in an attempt to make the customer feel like they are "negative" or at fault. Sometimes it feels like we are living in a twilight zone episode that never ends. UGH!!!

THE SHORT: I've…read morebeen elsewhere, and I'm glad I made the switch. This facility is the best. My treatments with Dr. Ace Casiano and Jennyfer Suganob have helped me fully recover from a knee issue that was preventing me from enjoying the activities that I love. The guided rehabilitation exercises, knowledge, and treatments that I have received under their care cannot be overstated. THE LONG: In 2020, I experienced knee pain while hiking and sought chiro treatment at a different facility in Mission. - That intake focused on me standing and getting x-rays at a private clinic under their umbrella to assess my spinal alignment (and never felt my soft tissue to assess my situation). I was inaccurately diagnosed with "jumper's knee", claiming that my kneepad was coming off track due to poor spinal alignment. - That treatment focused on reassessment of my spinal alignment, and had me lay down for spinal adjustment each time. I was out the door in 10 minutes. After several months, without any change to my treatment, no more understanding than the first treatment, money wasted with no progress, and being told I would not recover -- just prevent further deterioration -- I stopped going and suffered through. In 2021, I saw an ad for CAP Health about knee pain while hiking. I reached out to them and was thrilled with my results. Their intake was involved and engaging. Dr. Ace Casiano discussed the issue, he had me stand, walk, and recorded these results to show me and review what was happening outside; he then had me lay down and moved my body to feel what was happening inside. - It turns out, my tendons were too tight from being sedentary. When I was loadbearing my knees, my tendons were pulling my kneecap off track and irritating my fat pad underneath causing it to become inflamed. All soft tissue. Not caused by my spine alignment: spinal corrections was not the answer. - Now my treatments are 30 minutes of hands-on movement. He feels how my body is reacting to know what my body needs. We adjust based on real feedback from my body. Not some one-size-fits-all treatment I was getting in 2020 that got me out the door in 10 minutes. - After a few weeks, of engaged rehabilitation, we added in massage therapy with Jennyfer Suganob to keep my soft tissue limber. We continuously adjusted my rehabilitation as we progressed. After only a few months, I have advanced to full recovery and enjoy the activities I love. Because of appropriate, knowledgeable, dedicated care, I've come far from what I thought would be an issue I could not recover from.

Like I do with my hairstylists, I hop around to different massage therapists, because they never do quite what I want, even if I give them guidance. Well, I can say I'll be settled for a while. Not only is the location convenient (Scotia Centre), they are available for lunchtime appointments. My therapist was Amber K. She was very professional, and asked me what I wanted to be worked on, and what issues, or injuries I had. I told her I have issues with my back from sitting at my desk, as well as my feet from excercise. Not only did she get directly to where was hurting me, and loosened it up, she also provided suggestions on how to avoid more pain, and reasons why I could be in pain based on my description of how it hurt. At first she didn't talk much, but the more I spoke, the more she engaged me - which is how I feel it should be. If I talk -you talk, if I don't -you don't. Prices are $80 per hour flat fee, which is slightly below standard fees downtown.
