Of course at school you get some teachers that are nice and some that are less pleasant to deal with. I always found it be modern, fresh and with great facilities. I actually went to two secondary schools and this was the better of the two, I must say! If you live in the local area and are looking for somewhere to send our children I would recommend it because they are very dedicated to providing the best experience and there are some really great results form this school.

I too am from the United States and I have nothing but admiration for the school where my four nieces and nephews have been blessed with amazing educations. IN fact, I have been so impressed that over the years I recommended it to other Americans moving to London for work. Two couples who have had their children there (family of five and four) were very happy. In fact, one family left London to return to the US and missed the school so much that they returned to UK. All of those children are grown now and are in excellent schools, two of them at Westminster. By the way, all but two of the eight children I personally know are all...wait for it...BOYS. In addition, I have had the true pleasure of watching several Heathside Preparatory School musical concerts over the years and seen those children perform admirably. All are supported so beautifully by the teachers that you can see the children's confidence emerge more and more as they play solo or in concert. It is very moving.

There is a strong family atmosphere which we felt was really important at such a young age. She is now in year 1 and we are very happy to say still loves going to school everyday. The classes are small with a teacher and two assistants so we feel confident she will develop to her full potential. Originally a grammar school founded by the Franciscans, it was the first voluntary aided comprehensive school to be awarded technology college status in East London. This was my secondary school. I had a great time here. As a Technology College, St Bonaventure's endeavours to promote an educational climate which is scientific, technological and vocational. Almost half the timetable is taken up with the teaching of Technology, Information Technology, Mathematics and Science. Located in Forest Gate, it has great access by both the district line (Get off at Upton park and then a 10min walk), and by plenty of buses so access is not a problem. In terms of uniform, years 7-9 wear a brown blazer with gold trim, gold and black stripped tie, black trousers and black shoes. year 10-11 students wear a black blazer with gold trim, yellow and black stripped tie, black trousers and black shoes. the P.E Kit was the same for both. It was white shorts, Blue jersey with a white horizontal stripe, and trainers. During my time, years 7-9 were not allowed outside of school for lunch. years 10-11 were allowed. School dinners were nothing special although the doughnuts were great. Outside of school, there are plenty of chicken shops and newsagents about 2 minutes walkfrom the school. This is a great school with a natural progression into the sixth form centre which has a high level of oxbridge applicants and admissions. One of the best (If not the best) consistantly for the last 15 years in grades. Highly recommended.

I think smaller schools are much better for children's educational and personal development. There is a really good relationship between the school staff and the parents. The teachers really care about the children's education and development and it is just a thriving school community. Princess Diana actually came to the school in 1983 to open an new wing of the school that had been recently built, so this school has got interesting history too!

Parents who merely treat it as a babysitting service are the other problem. I honestly believe this is a great school which has improved massively over the last few years…read more Pupils have been getting above average scores in all subjects and the school is now one of the best primary schools in Westminster. This wonderful school has many pros. First, the location. The school's location just a few hundred meters from Paddington Station and Praed Street (Which leads to Edgware Road and then on to Oxford Street) is a fantastic area for after school treats and parent coffee areas with McDonalds, KFC, Subway and many other brands having stores around that area. Second, the size of the school. The schools pupil capacity of 120-140 makes a very small school by Westminster standards but this means the teacher knows each pupil well which helps when a pupil is failing as the teachers can focus on this child and give any needed assistance. The size also means that disputes between pupils do not go unheard by the teachers and are almost always settled in moments. Third, the determination of the students that go to the school to achieve high grades. Piano, Violin, Chess and Football are just four of the many after-school clubs the school has. All subjects are taught well by the teachers. Students receive rewards (Either a certificate or a community service award, which essentially is a badge given every term to 1-3 pupils of each class for good acts towards the community e.g. tidying up the class, opening doors for teachers) every Friday and this helps to motivate both those who got a reward to reach higher goals and those who didn't to push hard enough to get one. The school has no cons that are worth mentioning. It is multicultural in more ways then one (Over 1/2 of the students are Islamic or of other faiths and over 70 nationalities are based in the school), kind, connects with parents very well and is just a fantastic school overall.
