    Snow covered lily pond

It's definitely an oasis in the middle of Flatbush. Although, I'm not a student or an alumni, i am staff. I might be a tad bit biased. The campus (outside) is beautiful! Each turn it's something beautiful. I like the campus best when it's empty. The lily pond is my favorite part of this entire campus. I have photos for days, and although i despise coming here at times.. it does allow me to see the seasons in their entirety. Especially since i can't make it to prospect or Central Park. It's a beautiful place to be, at times.

I went for a semester while going for my MA. BC continuously gets awards for being one of the nicest campuses in America, and it is has been ranked in the top 10 by Princeton Review's 2006 guidebook, as one of America's Best Value Colleges. I liked the semester I was here, the professors were nice, and I highly recommend checking out if you want to get a great education without going into massive debt in the process. The place loses a few stars because its registrar, admissions and financial aid offices are all really bad with helping you and returning your call. A lot of the time they do not even pick up the phone during office hours.

Ah, Brooklyn College - The Poor Man's Harvard. I spent four prime years there expanding my mind, learning patience, and man-whoring my way through the freshman body (literally). Good times. Good times, indeed. As a Lit major, I was forewarned that the Eng department was full of overbearing snobs that tore green students leg from limb; that was only partially true. In my experiences at BC, I had the pleasure of meeting some of the most engaging minds I'd ever encountered in a scholastic setting - most notably, Professor Browne, the MVP of the English Department. I stalked-er, enrolled in his various class an astounding four times. Either he was an extraordinary educator, or I should prepare to explain to my mother that I once had a crush on a man. The renovated campus is gorgeous, although I damn near cried when the Bedford Avenue overpass was given the wrecking ball (does anyone know if its been rebuilt)? Toss in a laid back nature of Midwood, the Caribbean flavors of Flatbush, the multitude of shops (such as Bulletproof Comics - see my review), and friendly vibes and its in a prime location. Brooklyn College: five star winner. I just wish I were cool enough to sit on the steps of Boylan.

The campus is really bigger than most CUNYs. The tuition is affordable and you get what you pay for. The buildings look old except for West Quad (glass building). There are also 2 Starbucks locations on campus.

DO NOT - I REPEAT DO NOT - ENROLL IN THE NURSING PROGRAM AT MEDGAR EVERS COLLEGE…read more Less than 30-40% of students actually graduate. There is little to no real teaching, you are expected to teach yourself everything using ATI modules. When you fail and ask for help or a review, they just tell you to "read more and there is no time to review." You can read everything front to back, and the exams still feel designed in a way that makes them almost impossible to pass - with correct choices being marked as incorrect choice (despite having proof that that is what the book says). It is almost as if the exams are rigged. Even many outside adjunct professors have said it feels like students are set up to fail, possibly so the school can keep charging tuition, especially since many of the nursing credits don't transfer elsewhere. The get to simply re-bill the same people for an education that they already paid for and did not receive. They do not take accountability. When 62 out of 65 students FAIL, they blame the students instead of addressing poor teaching AND the fact that they do not provide CLINICAL EXPERIENCE. The same instructors can have failure rates of 90%+ semester after semester, and nothing changes. You are essentially paying for an education that you are not receiving. Clinical experience, which is required, is limited or nonexistent, yet they still charge full tuition. On top of that, the environment is very discouraging. Staff often speak to students in a condescending, demeaning and disrespectful way, like you are a child. Most nursing students are there because they genuinely want to help people, but that passion is not supported here. Instead, it feels like constant stress, hazing and intimidation. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Go to a program where students are actually supported, where the graduation rate is high, and where people 90% of students pass the NCLEX. Out of a class of over 60 students, many of whom are repeating the semester, only about 2-3 are currently passing HALF of their classes. That should tell you everything. I'm sharing this to genuinely warn future students. If you're serious about becoming a nurse, choose a different program.

Freshman here, has been a horrible experience since i first registered as a student. Not only did i…read morehave problem picking classes because my advisor did something to where i couldn't register, but when the actual class started....phewwww, the professors are unorganized like never before. i had to redo assignment due to professor UPDATING a SYLLABUS....like they added assignment instruction 2 days away from the due date.... most students already have that done or damn near done. Professors just talk and dont teach, some do...but who want to gamble? I mean i have to do study 2-4 hours each class... A DAY...maybe 8-10 hours A DAY. i GET NO SLEEP, NO cooking i cant do nothing because professor only want to talk and not teach. i gotta teach myself PLUS the assignments. The professor won't even have a lesson ready.... just them and a dry erase board...which mean notes are basically just dialongue....wtf. i have to transfer oh and i have a vpn so location will show up different but trust i hate this school so much i am here to write about it

The most organized, professional and courteous environment for COVID vaccine…read more I had a 2:45 appointment: arrived @1:45 and at 2pm I received my vaccine. By 2:24 pm I was finished. The process is simple: Pre- visit fill out NYS COVID- 19 vaccine form and a registration form with your own personal ID is sent via email. Bring government issued ID, insurance card and a copy of the registration and vaccine form. When I arrived at the College, I first had to enter a tent like entrance and was greeted by a rep who inspected my forms. I then was asked to enter another pre- vaccine area to confirm I was actually me: name, birthday as home address. I was then asked to enter the COVID vaccination area: the College's gymnasium. I then was told to go directly to table 6 where Mitchell and Williams were awaiting me. Mitchell asked me a series of health questions and then Williams vaccinated my arm. That simple! I was given my Vaccination Card and was asked to wait 15 minutes in the waiting area to ensure the procedure went smooth. In the way out, another rep inspected my card and stated I will be back in three weeks to get my second dose. The National Guard and FEMA staff are exceptional, professional and courteous. Special shout out to Mitchell and Williams; they both were awesome. My mom received her vaccine three weeks ago from a young woman National Guard named Ellis and she too spoke highly of her and this whole process. Well done Medgar Evers!!
