Enthusiastic about food and local history, and knowledgeable about the unique people and places we visited. Our group spanned all ages and dietary restrictions; a consideration when looking for a "team building" off-site, and he was very accommodating to make it a fun experience for everyone. He did little contests and raffles throughout, and we had a mural tour with a really nice souvenir photo of our group. I organize a lot of these kinds of group activities, and not all food tours are created equal. I highly recommend this one, whether you're organizing a work thing, having visitors from out of town, or are newcomers to SF. You won't be disappointed.

Three words: BOOK THIS TOUR!…read more If you want an unforgettable SF experience, this is the activity to do. Take their helpful tip of coming with an empty stomach because by the end of the tour you'll definitely be stuffed. On top of amazing food, you'll learn so much fascinating history about the local SF food culture. I've done both the Mission and North Beach/Chinatown tours and each were incredible. From a corporate team bonding event to a fun experience to share with friends, this is a great activity for all occasions. Chris is top notch and the best storyteller! His passion and love for food, the community, and its people are what truly creates the magic of these tours. I'm so grateful for all that he's done!

Four & 1/2 stars! We just finished the "Walking Tour of Chinatown and North Beach/Little Italy"…read moretour. An excellent introduction to both neighborhoods and their culinary offerings along with many historical sites and background. A family owned and run business that truly treat their customers like one of their own. I had one complaint about missing the fortune cookie factory and the owner Tom called me personally to resolve it. Later in our visit we went on our own to the fortune cookie factory and it was really not anything much to be concerned about missing. If you have never been to San Francisco or even if you have been before this is a fantastic introduction or re-introduction to what makes this city unique. I forgot to mention that you should come hungry, there's plenty of food along the trip!

It was fun being tourists for the day even though we are Bay Area natives. Our tour guide was Andre and he was very knowledgeable and kept our group of 10 engaged. Not only did he explain the history behind the places we stopped by, he showed us the beauty of San Francisco. The food was great and I was stuffed by the end of the tour. From what I recall, we sampled sesame balls, dim sum, roasted duck and sautéed green beans, fortune cookies, lots of tea from a local tea shop, Italian sandwiches, cannolis, gelato, and pizza. I forgot to take pics of the food but I'll have to say my favorite was the salami sandwich from Molinari.

He's a great teacher, a fun person and was full of energy and kept the program moving. I've already been receiving multiple comments from the participants, all who enjoyed their time at the event VERY MUCH! Chef Carlos was AMAZING! It was 1AM in Madrid and you would never know it from his abundant energy, fun personality and professional teaching skills. His camera angles showed us each step and he kept the show at a high, entertaining level. We were all VERY impressed. Our Cooking Event was a complete success! Thank you, Debbie, Chef Carlos and everyone at Cozymeal!!! I'm so glad I found YOU, Chef Carlos and Cozymeal and we were able to share this experience with my colleagues. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Very professional, very personal and very kind. The world needs more Debbies and Carloses!!!

That is not what happened. There was essentially no hands-on cooking. My wife and I repeatedly asked how we could help, and the only participation we were given was washing lettuce and chopping a small amount of pepper. There was no meaningful instruction, no real teaching, and very little engagement. The ingredients were also very disappointing for the price. Store-bought tortilla chips were used despite the menu advertising homemade chips. The carne asada was supposed to include chimichurri, but it was seasoned with store-bought seasoning from a jar and no actual chimichurri was prepared. I contacted Cozymeal immediately with detailed feedback. After delays, they refused to refund the booking and offered only a 15% gift card toward another Cozymeal experience, which is useless because I would never use them again. This was an awful experience and Cozymeal did not stand behind it. I would strongly recommend avoiding this platform.

Chef Joseph is amazing!…read more Bought the groupon, $19 for a tour for two, great price and an amazing deal. I love food and history so this was the perfect tour. My husband loved it, I set up the tour for our valentines day date in the city. Went around North Beach, got some amazing snacks and treats along the way and learned all the great places to eat in North Beach. Then I went on the Mission food safari a few months later with a cousin. The difference between the North Beach and the Mission food safari is night and day. Chef Joseph did a great job on both but the Mission tour is more like an intro of the history, people, and the neighborhood with by the way this place has great tacos. So while your on the North beach tour, you will be snacking the whole time, picking up little things here and there at all the great places he recommends. On the Mission, you will come out with a great history, architecture, and art lesson and a little hungry. One thing to be aware of is that the Mission is a rough neighborhood. Its a mix of city workers, homeless, and some residents, with police strolling by to keep unlicensed peddlers on the move. My well traveled cousin described the Mission as a mini Tijuana lol.

Thanks Chef Joseph. Fun and informative tour. Many gems in the North Beach neighborhood with…read morehistory included. Good pace for the group, not in a hurry. Shop and explore at your leisure.

All of us waited for a 45 minutes in the rain (A half hour after the tour start time.). No tour leader, no message, nothing from Best. We live fairly close to San Francisco. One of the others was from out of the area. We sent multiple messages to Best. It's now after 5 on 1/23 and we have heard no response from Best. Don't waste your money or your time.

For some places like Ghirardelli it does not even really count as a true chocolate stop as you can walk in on any day of the week and get a free chocolate from them. Cocoa Bella, Teuscher and Spicely were 3 of the best shops to stop at, but you could walk over to any of these places on any fine day instead of paying for someone to walk you to the stores. If anything, this place exposes you to different chocolate companies in SF. If you're a true chocolate lover and enjoy dark chocolates or flavor infused chocolates then skip this tour. Your money is better spent on fine bars of chocolate. Our consolation was that our guide was funny.
