Unfortunately, the result looked nothing like what I asked for. The highlights were very brassy, uneven, and harsh instead of soft and blended like the photo I showed. To make matters worse, the stylist rushed the appointment because she had to leave early that day, which I was never informed about beforehand. Because of this, I was sent out of the salon with wet hair, so I couldn't even see the final result properly before leaving. When my hair dried, it looked so bad that I had to go back the next day just to turn it back to dark hair because the highlights were so poorly done. On top of that, I had to pay extra to fix it, which was really frustrating considering the original service was already not done correctly. Overall, this experience felt rushed, unprofessional, and very disappointing. When you show a clear reference photo and trust a stylist with your hair, you expect a result at least somewhat similar to what you asked for. Instead, I ended up paying more money just to correct the damage. I would not recommend based on my experience. Oh ya, one thing i forgot to mention is she stopped drying my hair because it was "too wet" and taking "too" long to dry, so she started straightening my hair while it was still wet. Crazy experience. That lady was lazy& doesnt care about her job.

My luck of the draw was Brittany. Having my hair trimmed and styled is therapy for me. And Brittany fit my niche. She is a talented stylist who loves what she does. And it showed. I talked myself into a stutter when I realized her finishing touch. The cut was beautiful! She even took time to add a bit of texture per my request. I left her chair, feeling brand new with a lift in my step. I will return to her over and over Thank you Brittany. You're a breath of fresh air. Bree is the first person I actually look FORWARD to have cutting my hair! She always makes it look great... I had a funny haircut someone talked me into getting before a wedding last fall, which made my ponytail look super awkward. Bree fixed it right up, and it's nice and natural-looking again. Yay! The salon is welcoming and relaxing, everyone is genuinely nice, and a 100% locally-owned business. Also, Bree gave free cuts to government workers during the last shutdown. That's a big deal for our coasties! Major kudos.

I was extremely nervous about getting it cut but I knew it was time. Bre took the time to have a very in depth consultation about the problem and how we would fix it. She didn't seem annoyed by my nervousness. Instead she reassured me and made sure I knew that she was listening to my concerns. She gave great suggestions and took care to make sure that I agreed before even touching my hair. I am overjoyed to say that my hair cut is lovely. It even still looks long! My hubby and I recently enjoyed a few hours here, as we took sauna time between the back to back massage appointments. The front desk (Amanda, who was very sweet) said they even would offer to bring in lunch if you'd like to order from blackbird next door and you can sit in your robe, hehe (provided with slippers for your service use). What a great idea for a day. You could take yoga or Zumba then have spa services all in one stop. Sauna is on special for January 2023. I feel it is a bit steep cost to reserve it normally, however, it is very luxurious to have it as your own locked in time for a private or couple session, that is true, and it was so detoxing and utterly relaxing. Our massages with Ashley were of the more relaxing style and she found those pressure points in the back and neck that had us totally rejuvenated. There are so many services offered here that sound wonderful, we look forward to return and try them out when we are ready to splurge on ourselves again. I went back and she tried to blame it on two shampoos using Pantene. Sorry, but to blame it on that instead of possibly that you left me under the dryer for an extreme amount of time and didn't check my hair very often while you went to the back. As I was sitting there, I was getting concerned as no other person every giving me a perm left me sitting that long under a dryer. Needless to say my hair got extremely damaged by this failed perm. I believe it was due to carelessness and lack of knowledge. It has been over four months later and I am still trying to "fix" her mistake. She did not own that she wasn't monitoring timewise, etc. She was very defensive and even got her mom to blame using Pantene shampoo twice (two times, not more than that). I got the impression that she did not take the time to check type of hair and ask questions about hair history prior to giving a perm. Save yourself a bad hair experience and go anywhere else!
