This place is an overpriced shop for things that you might've forgotten and need something to get you through the layover at the SAT terminal. They sell things like newspapers, the Express News and other national publications. There's a few magazines, which include Texas Monthly. But other than that, it's way overpriced colas, bottles of water that are crazy expensive. Candy that's going out of date and food that offers almost zero nutritional value. The only nice thing about this store is the set of tables outside of the place where you can chill and enjoy that candy bar you got for a fistful of dollars. I don't expect anyone is going to be standing outside of this store shouting "Extra Extra Read All About It!!!" This is a bit disappointing. They didn't have any coffee when I went.

There was a greater assortment and abundance of candies (from old favorites to local specialties to chocolate covered everything), cookies, and chip than at the other shops in Terminal B. Also, a great selection of mags. I sat in their for 30 minutes, and I appreciate not getting the stink-eye from the cashier from wearing out my welcome. TWN is a great place to stop and sit before you take off.

They're doing great things for the local Hispanic community, giving an outlet for local San Antonio news with some in-depth reporting and editorialized articles about the current happenings in the Alamo City. My favorite is the cultural stuff- the artwork is always local artists, they include poetry and short stories, and essays in both English and Spanish. The whole magazine has a different theme each issue, with various art and articles around this centralized theme. If you're seeking to learn Spanish, this is a great resource to get some interesting material to learn from! They have the magazine free at the periodicals section at your neighborhood grocers, you can subscribe- I think there's a discount if you're subscribing for someone who's incarcerated. It's a weekly publication, and they always seem to focus on positive things, which is nice.

I was editor at Scene in SA Magazine for about 3 years. I can't really speak to the quality of it…read morenow, because it's a totally different dynamic. But back when I was there, there was a totally different editorial team. I thought we did a good job of balancing content that would appeal to younger and older people. Our conservative editorial edge was partially chosen to balance out what many perceive as the more leftist daily paper and state magazine. Now the lineup is a little different, but I can stay it still has that sort of Saturday Evening Post feel of a hodgepodge magazine for not just city dwellers, but also readers.

visited south park news today in South Park Mall. This shop is a snack shack and inside this shop…read moresits a jewelry repair man and his assistant which appears to be his son. I was a customer in the jewelry repair stand inside this shop. I took my sons gold chain to get solder and the man shorted us 3-inches of the gold necklace. This man claimed my son probably lost it at school and so forth. My son and I are very confident we handed him 3 parts to solder. My sons necklace sat at breast bone length and now sits at his collar bone. This is absolutely ridiculous. I put my trust into this shop and felt secure leaving a gold chain for repair and resulted in a scam. This should not happen to anyone. Everyone needs to be aware of the scam business this man is running. Im furious right now. No stars awarded to this scammer

Everything was well stocked, the place was clean and organized, and booksellers were never far away. I'm not necessarily a fan of the super tall shelving that you can't see over however. It made it difficult to find the section I was looking for, made the space feel more like a maze and/or closed off despite the larger size of the store, and to me felt like more of an inconvenience than it was worth. All in all, if I'm in the area I still wouldn't mind stopping in to see if there's anything I'm missing for my at home library.

It's hard to meet like-minded businesspeople in places other than the office. However, the San Antonio Business Journal's Business for Breakfast event series does an outstanding job of bringing people together from various companies for networking and learning. I strongly encourage you to consider attending one of these monthly Business for Breakfast events. It's a great way to meet local business people and understand the pulse of San Antonio. (And you get a free issue of the paper, too.) Kudos to Donna T. of the San Antonio Business Journal for coordinating these and serving as a host/moderator -- she's an incredible resource.

As far as real estate, they're the best source for info on what's transpiring in the San Antonio area. It's a great way to keep on top of the facts. They put out an annual Book of Lists which is a great resource for finding out who the key players in any given industry are. It's a huge book, and gives you all kinds of juicy data on all the listees. They've got a great editor, give relevant studies on what's going on. None of the articles are incredibly in-depth with little reporting going on. Usually the only sources of information is the corporate-released press releases. The glossy inserts are usually useful and full of good facts and data. I wish they could just add something funny to it. It's a rather dry publication at times. How about a San Antonio political cartoon? Someone local who writes jokes? A local advice columnist?
