I have lived here twice and both times, the experience was great. What I see is when people don't want to be held accountable for things that are their fault, they blame management OR maintenance. The hallways are spotless and quiet. Apartments are very nice with stainless appliances, granite counters and wood floors. They knock themselves out with free breakfasts, free dinners, free movies, free wine and painting and more things like this every week. We just signed out 4th lease. We love our apartment. We have never had a problem with getting any maintenance done. We have always had good communication with the office staff. Of course, there are little things that can be annoying, but any apartment complex has issues when you have over 300 apartments. Things break. They get fixed if people report them and follow up. They have lots of community activities. Treat the office/maintenance with respect, and they will treat you with respect. read more

Please read all the reviews before you decide to move to Currents. I lived here since the beginning of Covid. I would not recommend unless you want to be in arguments with the staff and maintenance people. Pros: * The people that live around me are nice, but we complain about this property all the time. * The apartment itself is nice. Its what you get from $1200 but no real amenities like the pool. Cons: This is going to be a long list * Don't care about their residents. o They would rather get into an argument with you or blame you for something that happened in your apartment. o There is no communication about anything that is happening within the apartment, ie when are the amenities going to available * Fire in the middle of the building where all the amenities are. We barely have any amenities. The outdoor and indoor pool were destroyed so we couldn't use those. The outdoor pool opened in June 2023. The community room still remains closed, the indoor pool remains closed, the fitness center is in a creepy apartment. o We paid for amenities that we didn't even have for almost 2 years. o Why does it take 2 years to rebuild the building??? There hasn't been a wall on the back of the building for these 2 years...... * AC units are very old and stop working from time to time. o Also, if you get a 1 bedroom apartment- get ready to sleep in your living room during the summer months as your bedroom is really hot as no AC gets into that room very easily. * In the middle of winter, my heat went out for an entire week, and I sat in my 20-degree apartment while it was freezing outside. I had to reach out to the city of Plymouth to make sure I had heat. Currents management didn't even seem to care that I was freezing. * My apartment got broken into and the maintenance workers decided to blame me for breaking into my own apartment and stealing things???? I was in complete shock/scared, and they kept blaming me. * I had a bee's nest on my deck that I physically removed from my deck but there were still bees swarming. The maintenance people came sprayed and said there are no bees... I had to walk back down to the office and say "the bees are back"- just fix the problem the first time. o The next day I saw the maintenance worker and ask him he said no bees and laughed and walked away from me. (Not good customer service about problems within your apartment * There are many apartments that are not occupied in this complex, as people don't want to move here due to many issues they have heard about this place. * Most of the workers (especially maintenance workers) do not speak English very well so its hard to tell them what is actually happening with the issues. And for them to try to explain back to us what was wrong. * When you put your notice in, they give you a packet on how to clean your apartment. Come on really, you are going to tear up the apartment anyways. * This building is very old needs major updates. o Bike racks that no one uses o Decks that are sometimes scary to be on as they are old o The railings on the decks in the front of the building are very wobbly o The columns on the deck got replaced when I first moved in but they rot really fast o There is a plywood paper mâché looking stone thing at one of the front entrances (is this really worth your money, no you should be communicating to your residents) o Dog bags and trash seem to always be full or out of bags.... o The doors to the apartments are very rarely ever locked or they are wide open (not very safe) o Sliding doors in apartment during winter months are frozen shut and you have to get creative to be able to get out on your deck to shovel.. (fire hazard) * The website for Currents is very out of date nothing looks like that anymore in this apartment. Be very careful... * Most residents that I have talked to are not happy living here but we are all living here as its cheap I know rent is not cheap anymore but please read these comments as this is what happened while I lived at Currents. The current is a very unreasonable and hard management crew to work with. My boyfriend and I wantef to move building s in which they helped us do so but made the process unbearable. We got a moving truck and moved out of our old apartment to move into our new apartment and when we went to go get our keys and they told us that we couldn't move in because our application wasn't finished! They didn't have the decency to contact us before hand to let us know they didn't have everything for move-in so we are out hundreds of dollars and their management crew is lacking help nobody is there to help and the people that were there on the weekend are stupid. Wouldn't recommend living there! Every year the rent goes up $50.00, So don't plan on staying there long.. Service calls to fix things take about 3 weeks to a month, and when you call to ask when they are coming they are Rude and act like you haven't had a service ticket pending! They are Very picky and send letters all the time about making sure to not have Bikes or anything on your patio! They send letters requesting you to pay and fix your blinds if only 1 blind is broken and that you must pay by this date or threaten eviction, when you actually see about 20 other apartments with broken window blinds and think to yourself Hmmm... they send threatening letters to pick up cigarettes off the ground when you don't even smoke and neither does your guests so that's obviously not you. Currents was previously known as Regency Pointe Apartments. We lived here for about 18 months. Overall, our experience has been good with the amenities and the management. It was worth the rent we paid for. Garages are located in between the buildings at the back side and half stall is big enough put in a truck or a car and a motor bike, but the whole garage is spacious. We had two cars, one motor bike and plenty of garage tools and storage. The maintenance was prompt and good. All the maintenance staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants value for money. They are no frills apartment but provide all the basic amenities. Special mention regarding snow removal: They would shovel the snow promptly and even on the coldest days, i have seen men working and clearing the internal roads for us. read more

The management will bully you until you move. I have talked to many other residents and they agree. They are overpriced and only care about the money. Rented a little over a year ago. I tried getting into a 2 bedroom when my lease was up in the 1 bedroom and they just made it hell. One person would tell me one thing and then was told something else by another. They wanted me to sign a lease for a unit but they wouldn't let me see the unit until move in day. Why would anyone sign a lease before seeing the unit??? I was not about to be stuck with them again. Was being threatened by the guy living below us. We were barely home, Just two adults who like to just sit and watch TV. But he was always pounding on our floor. (His ceiling). The managers here didn't seem to care. They charged us for carpet cleaning when I know for sure they would have had to replace the carpet when we moved out. It stunk of dog pee when we moved in and got worse once the weather got warmer. It was gross. Maint. was RUDE. Every time they came to our unit they had an attitude and had the nerve to yell at my fiancé when the garbage disposal stopped working. They had to fix a pipe that was leaking into the lower unit. That's fine, I get that But I wasn't home and they moved everything out of the closet and didn't put it back, along with ripping jackets and such off of hangers and broke something very special to me. It just wasn't worth complaining to the management anymore. All they care about is getting their money and looking good to your face, but once you turn around they stab you right in the back. I could not wait to get out of there. I did like the pool area but my key never worked. Brought it up to the office and they traded keys but it still did not work. I gave up. Laundry rooms were decent but others would through your clothes out before the dryer was even done. I know my review is late, and maybe they have gotten better... but I am just posting from my exp. Absolutely horrible mistake moving here. I hate it so much!!! From day one the harassment from management started making my movers move up to three times while trying to unload. Management constantly harassing and sending letters for fees. The worst part is management lives at the apartments so they constantly watching you and rating you out for more fees and rules you or anyone you know may accidentally break. Management continues to charge for multiple things multiple charges and move out fees are outrageous I hear from other tenants. Nothing gets fixed maintenance takes 2 to 3 to 4 weeks and never announces themselves on entering. Everything's always broken doors are broken so you cannot let your dogs out to go to the bathroom. Dead mice in the dog pools, I moved here for the pool alone and there's neither pool open for the whole time I've been here but still paying the very hefty price. The workout room is destroyed due to the fire they had and both pools are taking forever to fix because management does not care because everyone still pays. I'm not one for writing reviews, but I cannot thank this community enough for what it has to offer. I lived here from December 2014 to February 2016 with my then 5 year old pittie (now 8). I was referred by A Rotta Love Plus when I had just about given up on the apartment search and this was the first and only place I needed to look. Kim is very knowledgeable and Hana was always fast to respond to my odd email inquiries. Since moving out I have referred two couples, one who I am close friends with, who both have German Shepherds and have also almost given up hope on finding a place to live with a breed restricted dog. Why is it a perfect place to live? a) Beautiful interior with indoor swimming pool and sauna. b) Good management who are eager to listen to your problem. c) Quiet place. d) Monthly continental breakfast. e) The right mixture of varieties of people of diverse culture and age group. f) Price beats all equal level apartments in Plymouth and nearby areas. I have 5 good points of good qualities for this place. 1. I quite enjoy this place, it has an awesome atmosphere to live in. The paint and wall decorations remind me of being on a boat. 2. The staff are very helpful throughout the building from the moment you come in to any issues you may have. 3. The cleaning crew and maintenance are also very friendly and helpful. They get stuff done quickly and efficiently. 4. There are plenty of activities to do around the building. Indoor/outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, and a basketball court. 5. This place is located in a very prime location for stores around it. I love how close everything is. I have lived in a few different apartments and I usually don't let the reviews sway my opinion much because the person writing it could be lying or be a hypocritical person; however, I will tell you the truth about what life is like living at Currents Apartments, formerly Regency Pointe Apartments. The reason I moved here 14 months ago was because they allowed you to have a Pit Bull when most places don't. When we moved in we were given nice gifts and cute little notes and I was amazed by how thoughtful the apartment staff was! The apartment was clean and appeared to be in good shape. Within a year of living here I can honestly say that the apartment is NOT any of the things I mentioned above. Let me give you a few examples. 1. My bathroom window cracked in February due to the cold weather and I called the apartment and put in a maintenance request and they told me they would be here on such and such day to replace the window and they never came. It is May and it still has not been replaced. 2. In the middle of my lease they added a "dog poo" fee without my signing of anything...they forced all residents with dogs to pay for DNA testing ($90) and if they found your dogs poop you would be forced to pay $270 for the first offense and $300 for every offense after. Ok..So..pick up your dogs poop and you will be fine! I wish I could say it was that easy. Besides the parking lot, there is not any lighting at Currents apartments. Currents prides themselves on these dog parks they have; however, if you don't want to be charged for dog poo you won't want to let them in the dog park where you may not see them poop. In the end of May, currents charged me $570 for dog poop they supposedly found in April. If you don't have hundreds and thousands of extra dollars to throw at them, I would advise you not to rent here. They state that if I don't pay this fee, my rent won't be accepted, and I will be evicted. 3. Due to a faulty safety bar in the sliding glass door I was locked out of my apartment at 11:30pm one night with my phone, keys, and money inside. I called the emergency maintenance line because they have a master key and I thought they could let me into my apartment... and they advised me to call a locksmith or pay a $150 fine to be let into my apartment. On their website they state they have 24 Hour emergency maintenance but you will be forced to pay for it if you would like any kind of assistance. 4. The residents that live here are great. The staff is horrible. If you are thinking of moving here...I would walk around the grounds of the apartment and ask people what it is like! I wouldn't want anyone to feel the way I feel about my "home" My point here was that if you want to enjoy coming home and not dread what kind of letter, notice, or junk you will find stuck in your door...continue your apartment search...and don't live at currents. read more

Currents has to be (by FAR) the worst place to live in the Twin Cities. Dealing with the office personnel is like dealing with a slumlord. No class and standoffish from the start. They care nothing of you, accept responsibility for nothing when they make mistakes, fix nothing when you request maintenance and then blame you and charge you for anything wrong with the apartment! NEVER rent from Currents. Almost everything about this place is terrible. Constant lies from the office staff. Silverfish infestations (Google the nasty creatures). Way overpriced for what you get in return. We spent 2 whole days and nights cleaning the place SPOTLESS, and we got a letter in the mail saying they're charging us for 8.5 hours of additional cleaning, which is absolutely comical. I know at least a half dozen people that have been, or are currently, going through small claims court because of their crooked way of business. For the price point and ability to own any animal, currents really fits the bill. Management is great, we even had extra toiletries left out for us on move-in day. Maintenance requests are prompt and staff are friendly. The one time I complained (not enough notice before live music event), I received a hand-written thank you for sharing my concerns. Great communication/notices. Very dog friendly, love the parks and courtyard. There is a poop removal fee, but seemed standard when I was looking at other rentals. RENTERS BEWARE!! Looks are deceiving!! On the outside the place looks nice and the amenities are great. BUT!! You will get charged for every little thing that you request to be repaired in the apartment - that SHOULD be part of regular maintenance. We were charged for blind replacement even when we reported the blinds when moving in were worn and broken. We paid for the new ones. We had silverfish in the apartment when first moving in! GROSS!!! They had to spray twice to get rid of them. We would ask for simple repairs, cabinet drawer needed new track, oven was malfunctioning, etc.etc - things that are EVERY DAY repair work in an apartment building. It would either never get fixed or we would get a bill for it afterwards. Then we would fight over the charge for a couple of months until they said it would go to collections. Well, no one wants their credit slayed over something so stupid so we sucked it up and paid the dumb charges. On moving out, we found out we had to fix all the paint chips and holes from pictures on the wall, and pay to clean the carpet as well. I have lived in a few apartment complexes and NEVER ONCE had to pay to clean the carpet. We cleaned and scrubbed that apartment. It was clean as it could be. We took pictures, had a formal walk through (which they do not normally do) and was told it looked great. We wait two weeks or more for the lousy balance of the deposit (after they take $115 for carpet cleaning) to find out we don't get hardly anything returned as they said they had to clean the apartment for 8 MORE HOURS! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!??? That apartment was CLEAN! The stuff they complained about was things like corrosion on the fixtures and hard water stains on the tile in the bath. GET A WATER SOFTENER for your complex and your fixtures won't look like that! RUST in the patio door tracks. I mean REALLY? The tracks of the sliding glass door? That is the responsibility of the Apartment complex, not the renter ,if the damn tracks aren't right. This place is ridiculous!! I WOULD NOT recommend this complex. The main perks are that it is inexpensive and they allow any dog. Another thing is that the apartments are spacious. They have a nice courtyard, and the pool is nice. Most of the people are very friendly, and the neighborhood itself is very quiet. The courtyard is always clean because people are forced to pick up dog poop. However, garages are over priced, parking sucks, snow removal isn't very good, some of the staff although very friendly, are not very helpful, maintenance can't handle more than one request for you at a time and your other requests get ignored... They don't have priorities straight about what they should be fixing. I feel uncomfortable walking my dog at night, and they won't put in more lighting in the area to make that better. They won't fix doors that slam. So if your apartment is by a door that's all you hear. Also you better hope you have amazing neighbors because if you don't you hear everything. This apartment isn't terrible, but definitely not somewhere I would want to live permanently. read more

We currently live here and are counting down the days until our lease is up! They charm you to hook you into signing the lease and then toss you out with the trash virtually the same day. The longer we live here, the worse it gets! When we moved in we listed a few things that didn't work that maintenance should take care of, and is now 11 months later and still doesn't work. The wiring in this apartment can't be up to code. When we tried to hook up our internet we couldn't get any of the 3 phone lines to connect. I had to have our internet company come out and charge us extra to replace in order to hook up and still I think there is something wrong because our internet is constantly in and out. And not to mention that we have now had two light bulbs literally explode. One in a lamp we have plugged in, because there is no ceiling lighting almost anywhere in the apartment and one in the dinning room ceiling fan. The outlets in this apartment are awful. Half of them don't work and the other half won't hold your cord, it just falls right out. If you so much as touch the cord plugged into the living room, everything shuts off and you have to wiggle the cord to get things back on. Our fridge leaked from day one when we moved in. I had to have a bowl to catch the water otherwise everything would be soaked, including the floor. Now that maintenance has "fixed" it, things tend to freeze in the fridge. A burner on our stove didn't work the day we moved in and still doesn't 11 months later. Don't for one second think that there is any sound barrier between you and the neighbors! We can hear EVERYTHING! From just talking, to bathroom activities, to you name it...we've heard our neighbors doing it. We have had mice in our apartment twice now. The first time we found droppings all over our kitchen. Maintenance came out and set traps and two weeks later took them out and called it good. Now, I have seen a mouse run through our apartment. I set my own traps and have since caught THREE!! I called the office to let them know and maintenance came out again and did absolutely NOTHING! I'm leaving the traps set until the day we move out! Disgusting beyond belief! There is no control for this problem and maintenance just tells you that "It's that time of year". We've had a few bug problems. I have a newborn and thankfully he wakes me up to eat in the middle of the night as I've had spiders crawling into his crib! Now I'm so paranoid that I have to check the room from ceiling to floor every time I put him in his crib. The other people that live here have no respect for anyone else. Our upstairs neighbors smoke and like to drop their cigarette butts through the patio onto ours. People let their dogs out without leashes and don't pick up after themselves. The apartment DNAs your dog and says they'll fine for any poop they find, but the heck if that's enforced. The parking is ridiculous! I've read a review that said that must be a good thing...no vacancy...not true! There is no regulation of is parking in the "resident's only" parking. So many vehicles without parking permits taking up resident's spots. Try carrying an infant and groceries across a parking lot and let me know what you think! Our water has been shut off on average of once a week for maintenance. I'm a stay-at-home mom of 2 kids and when they say they're shutting off the water from 10AM until completion and only warn you the day before...I want to pull my hair out in frustration! The hallway smell is absolutely disgusting. Smells like marijuana mixed with urine and Mexican food constantly. I have to spray my door with Febreeze to block the smell from seeping through. OVERALL...DO NOT RENT HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! There are several amenities which my kids and I have enjoyed over the years. We have spent countless hours in both swimming pools (not to mention the very cool theme in the indoor pool). They made moving in very nice, lots of extra perks, but things went downhill from there. Maintenance doesn't speak English, never responds promptly to requests, and the office changes their story every time you talk to them. I called emergency maintenance for a water leak during the middle of the night and was told to "put a bucket under it until morning when someone would come." Moving out was a hassle, they nickeled and dimed away my entire security deposit (which I've heard from multiple former residents), and I spent two days cleaning the place from top to bottom following their ridiculous 10 page to do list. Another former resident had to threaten legal action to get out of her lease early because EVERY time it rained her living room flooded. These people are all about getting new residents in but have no interest in pleasing the residents they have already and certainly don't care what happens to you when you leave. Stay away! read more
