I had indian on my mind tonight, but wanted to try something different. Given me and Pops were on our own, we decided to drive over to Curry Cafe and give them a shot. Going in, we were seated quickly as there was a plethora of tables available. We ordered 1x appetizer plate, 1x mango lasi, 1x butter chicken, 1x lamb channa masala with chickpeas, and 1x garlic naan. Moving on with my review, tonight's meal for the most part was very good. The appetizer plate had a variety of fried fragrant pakoras (spinach, onion, veggie), but my fave was the samosa! The butter chicken had nice aromatics, and plenty of protein, but a little more tomatoey than creamy and chicken could be a more tender. The lamb channa masala was the star of the show as the lamb pieces melted in your mouth. The garlic naan was fresh, thin, and slightly crispy! My only real critique for tonight was that my mango lasi was on the bitter side. However, despite this feedback, the service was impeccable as the owner came over to our table several times to chat with us and gave helpful suggestions regarding the menu. Overall, we had a nice time and a little buzz from the spices too. My final verdict for Curry Cafe is 4/5 stars! read more

A wonderful evening, experience, and wonderful restaurant owners. It was very last minute, but we stopped in here earlier this evening for an early birthday dinner for myself. When we arrived, there were a few other tables being occupied, but we were seated right away and warmly greeted by the owner's wife. We had a short conversation with her, and then she recommended a few things, one of which was the fish Pokora. Before ordering, she did make us aware that most of their items are made fresh so items will take a little bit longer to prepare, we were totally fine with that. We also ordered a chicken tikka masala with both garlic and chili naan, and we also ordered their chicken biryani. For drinks, we ordered a Mojito, along with one of their special cocktails called the Mango Twist. The Mango Twist is basically a mango lassi mixed with Spiced rum, it was delicious! I also had a kingfisher beer, which is an Indian beer, which went so well with the fish pakora! The fish pakora arrived about 10 minutes after we ordered. It was hot, flaky, fresh, and so flavorful and delicious. The chicken tikka masala was cooked to perfection, creamy with just the right amount of spices, it went great with the two different naans that we ordered. The chicken biryani was also very flavorful. It was served with a few slices of hard boiled egg on top, lots of big chunks of chicken, and of course it's fluffy and fragrant basmati rice. Everything that we ordered was rich in flavor, hot and fresh. Paul, the restaurant owner is such a kind and humble gentleman. He came over to our table several times making sure that everything was perfect. We also had short conversations with him, got to know him a little bit and learn a little bit about the restaurant and his family. When restaurant owners go out of their way to hold conversations with their guest, it makes you feel a lot more welcomed, just because of the small gesture we know that we will be coming back to this restaurant in the very near future. Hands down, this is my favorite Indian spot in all of South Florida. I always get a new recommendation I come in because the owner remembers what I got last time. Malai kofta is probably my favorite, but you can't go wrong with anything on this menu. It's also a nice dim lit restaurant for a date where you want good food and a great conversation. read more

Had dinner last night at the fabulous Curry Cafe and it absolutely did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the owner and his family were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive, it truly felt like we were being taken care of like family. The level of hospitality alone would make me want to come back. The food was just as impressive. Everything was made to order and tasted incredibly fresh, full of flavor, and clearly prepared with care. A standout for me was the pani puri appetizer, it was outstanding and a must-try. The owner informed us that all the food they serve is fresh. Nothing comes frozen. Although it may take time to prepare the food and get it out to the table, the wait is worth it. I decided to dine at Curry Cafe for the wings. It was nice to try a different flavour of wings. I ordered the mint chicken wings and an order of kasmiri naan. I greatly enjoy eating at the curry cafe. Earlier today, my girlfriend and I stopped in to have an early dinner; the atmosphere was very nice with the diffused lighting and comfortable seating, and the staff very polite, informative, and attentive. For a drink, I ordered the mango lassi. It is very smooth, sweet, and thick. I enjoyed the flavor profile and it was very refreshing. My main entree was the mango lamb, which was excellent. The lamb is very tender, the rice fluffy and light. The sauce itself is wonderful! It was rich and creamy whilst the mango gave it a more distinct and sweet flavor. They make all the sauces by scratch, so you can order each dish on a verity of heats. I ordered mine mild and was more than satisfied. We went here to have dinner and one of the employees (host? not sure if he was the owner or not) refused to let us sit and dine because my husband has a service dog for his medical condition. We explained to the guy that it is illegal to refuse services to someone with a service animal according to the ADA. But the man kept brushing us off and was insisting that "they do not allow service animals" in the restaurant "Curry Cafe". They clearly do not know the laws and it was very disheartening and disappointing that we were not allowed to eat here. Very rude in fact and illegal! So instead we went to the next plaza down the road to Woodlands, the vegetarian Indian spot, where they had no problem serving us. read more

I really wanted to support this business, especially because it appears to be family owned. I thought if I ordered something simple like wings, I could not go wrong. I ordered the chili garlic wings and found that the chicken wings were coated with a flour batter making it hard to find the chicken. I explained that I just could not eat it because all I'm eating is fried batter. They explained that that's how it comes in all restaurants. Of course, that is not true. I recommend they change the description on their menu for the wings and note that the wings are heavily battered. They felt comfortable taking my money even though I could not eat it. I would not recommend the wings, since that is all I ordered. If you need to use the womens bathroom, better to go before coming to this restaurant. One stall was gross with urine that would not flush. Unfortunately, I won't be back. read more

I took my niece to Curry Cafe to celebrate her 18th birthday and to introduce her to authentic Indian food. She loved the rolling, tall-back chairs, but asked why the lighting was so dim. ("It's dinner ambiance," I told her.) We were told right away about the extra charge for credit cards and that there would be an automatic 18% gratuity added because we were a party of 4 (or more). Hmmm. I think the server had read my last review and/or remembered me. There were four of us. We had veggie samosas and were in love with the big, triangular appetizers. They looked and tasted homemade. They were accompanied by a mint-cilantro sauce and a tamarind sauce. I loved the latter. My niece loved both. For dinner we ordered the goat kadhai (they ran out of goat so we got lamb instead), chicken vindaloo, chicken korma, and the chicken tandoori. The kadhai was good, the vindaloo just OK, but the korma was so tasty that we spooned out every drop of the sauce (even when we ran out of meat) and consumed it either with rice or naan. Of course, we had to have a bread basket (variety of naan) with our meals. And we ate every piece using them to sop up gravies or dipping them in the tamarind sauce for a sweet treat. To me, though, the entree portions are still a tad skimpy and could use some more meat. :-) Of course, I am still getting used to post-pandemic prices in restaurants. The standout of the meal was the tandoori. Though not a favorite of mine, often because it is a bit dry and is sometimes made in advance and warmed up, this tandoori was made fresh and came straight from the clay oven. The chicken was well-seasoned, and it was moist and practically fell off the bone. I must admit, it is the best tandoori I have had outside of India. And the entree included about 6-8 pieces, so we were happy to have a decent amount of chicken. The place is very mom-and-pop, with the chef popping out to ask how we were liking our meals. And there was just one server handling the eat-in diners as well as the take-out orders. She was pleasant, even with her heavy load. (Shout-out to Tara!) The Curry Cafe now advertises a daily lunch buffet (Tuesday through Sundays, they are closed on Mondays). We are definitely going to try it out. read more

This is such a nice delight to stumble upon! After visiting Tate's, my friends and I found ourselves craving Indian food. Curry Cafe was one of the only places open late, so this is where we went. I have to say, it was so lovely. The inside is very pretty and quite red. More importantly, the service was wonderful. There was no one else but us, but the man serving us was very chatty and kind. He showed us the mango lassi and the strawberry lassi they were walking on as well. As for food, it was delicious. There are many options on the menu, and I can definitely recommend the samosas and the curry chicken. There are a lot of options for vegetarians as well. I can't comment on the indo-Chinese dishes yet but I am eager to come back to see. read more

Best Indian restaurant by far! My girlfriend and I love Indian food and have been to many Indian restaurant and this one has been our favorite. The owner was very friendly with us as we would chat and pretty attentive. My girlfriend got the Chicken Korma and I got the Mango Curry. The chicken korma was great; it was my first time trying mango curry and it was fantastic as well, probably my favorite dish of them all. The owner recommended us to try their cauliflower naan, which I was unsure of at first because I don't usually like cauliflower substitutes, but it was also delicious! I recently visited this Curry Cafe during lunch and was very disappointed. Yes, the food is excellent, however my disappointment occurred upon receipt of the check. The owner charged me $1.50 for two slices of lemon (I have been a long-time customer) and he also added an additional 18% of the total bill as service charge. I had ordered two dishes at the cost of $21.99 and one soda for $2.99. I had not noticed the $13.00 surcharge and added a tip for another $13.00 dollars as a tip. When it was all said and done, my cost was for lunch was $93.00. Unfortunately, I will not be returning be returning to Curry Cafe no matter how good the food is. When this place first opened up, the Curry Cafe did not have an 18% surcharge, and I did not have to pay for a piece of lemon. read more

I was driving by from some errands and was excited to see this place since i love Indian food. I actually drove past it and at the light decided to look up some reviews on here. When i saw the great reviews, i made a u-turn and decided to go in. I am very happy that i did! The place is spotless, including the rest rooms. The hostess was extremely accommodating. I asked her for some recommendations and she answered everything. I ordered the chicken tikka, medium hot, with mango chutney with some garlic Naan. It was delicious, fresh, melt in your mouth! I could not eat it all so brought some home to share with my hubby the next day for lunch. He loved it and asked me "when are we going"! The owner came out to ask me how everything was. This is by far my favorite Indian restaurant ever. The food is made to order, by two loving wonderful chefs. Everything I have had there is completely delicious. And seasoned just the way I like it. Tara, the waitress, is delightful, and knowledgeable and accommodating and adorable. I'm so glad I found this restaurant. The dishes I have had, that I really love are: Vegetable samosas. They are huge and completely filled with potatoes and vegetables, and then sprinkled with salt. Really yummy. I also love the saag panir(which you can get with tofu if you prefer), the malai kofta, and the Dahl makhani. The lassi is also delicious. read more

We came here for lunch and had a great experience. Everything was very tasty. We shared a samosa chaat and pineapple chicken curry, with a side of butter naan. Both the chaat and curry had amazing depths of flavor, and just the perfect level of spiciness (we ordered medium spice). The naan was crispy and very fresh. The curry came with rice that was nicely seasoned with some kind of anise. Service was also excellent, our waitress was helpful in navigating the menu, giving us informative recommendations, and was attentive and polite. A man who I presumed to be the owner also checked on us a couple times and made friendly conversation. We would definitely come back here. read more
