If you are local you should alredy know this shop, if you havent been lately , you should. we need more independent shops like ths where customer service is still above profits. Thanks you matthew and yoour team , i have been coming here for half a century and hope to continue to do so for a while longer.

An enormous variety of goods ranging from souvenirs and neat gifts in the Gift Shop, all sorts of outdoor clothing - not just for in the garden but raincoats, casual gear for men and women and all the seasons, plants, turf, trees, fish, parrots, rabbits and more - and all your needs for your pets. Then organize day trips to a wide variety of places - and not to forget the REALLY good restaurant that does breakfast, lunch, afternoon teas (High Tea) and bargain dinners. Indeed today Mrs G and I had 2 two course dinners for 12 pounds ($16-17 for TWO!!). I had beef bourguignon, while Mrs G had a Quiche Lorraine with chips and peas/salad, and then I had apple pie with custard while she had lemon meringue pie. Served promptly in the clean and bright restaurant - we sat "outside" so that Ricky Martin could sit with us and share in a little with my beef :). Will we be back? Hell yeah!!! Review #44 2018

It is worth looking in Gee Jays before buying anything from B&Q or similar places. They have stock clearance items and regular stock as well. The stock varies widely and is regularly updated to accommodate seasonal stock. If you are doing a spot of DIY I imagine you can get everything from here, as they have paint, brushes and cleaning equipment. The main downsides to this shop are: 1) Parking, there are a few spaces on the road outside, but the shop is a 5 min walk out of town; 2) Accessibilty with wheelchair, pram or similar. I find it hard to navigate a pram around, so have to make arrangements to go there on my own.

I'm going to make some bold statements with this place. First up it is my favourite shop in Acocks…read moreGreen. I also think it must be the best hardware store in Birmingham. Jeffries is a huge hardware business that stocks all the standard nuts and bolts plus a huge selection of outdoor planting, perfect for this time of year, and has a large gardening section at the rear of the store. Recently I was after some fence protector and after a visit to a huge DIY shop felt frazzled by the choice in products, colours and price. One trip to Jeffries and I got exactly what I needed, no fuss, a great price and I parked my car at the rear of the store to load up. I also recently discovered they do key cutting. They stock a wide selection of pet products. The beauty of this place is that they've always got what you need and know exactly what you are asking for. On the very slim chance they don't stock what you are after they know where you should go to get it. Amazing staff and service.

In summary it's a big hardware store that sells all (or at least most) of the nuts and bolts you need for your home and they have a big garden centre. If they don't have what you want then the staff can tell you where to get it. The shop is mainly for people who want to buy anything to do with DIY for their home. I came in here in search of a few things for home and, I don't mean to offend anybody by stereotyping, as a woman in a hardware store I didn't know where to look first. The staff were friendly and polite enough however to put me in the right direction. If you need any hardware for your home and garden then it's worth giving this store a visit.

What started out as only a few cute plants, you know, just to "green up the place," has morphed into living room JUNGLE obsession. Oh, us silly Americans. Go big or go home. The good news is that this obsession led me to find Podington Garden Centre. Quite literally in the smack dab of nowhere, this place is gardener's playground! I only wanted two things: a couple of 60 lt bag of organic soil for my courgettes and tomato plants. I wasn't expecting to find gardening nirvana. I'm pretty sure Jesus would shop here. Firstly, this centre is absolutely gorgeous. You have to hand it to these Podintons, they love their gardening! The centre is big, but not Home Base gigantic, and the staff are knowledgeable and genuinely care about their products. I was also shocked to find that the Guinness World Record for Largest Garden Spade was on display! Not sure if it was on the local garden tour, but there it was! I took a picture as proof, too. http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/4000/largest-garden-spade Earlier in the day, I called to request a hold on two bags of organic soil. It may seem silly, but after two disappointing visits to Homebase (thanks LOADS you a-holes for lying to me with your BS reservation!) I wanted to make sure my soil was still there! When I approached the counter my soil was already on a trolly, with my name, patiently waiting up front. Seriously, that's service! HUGE KUDOS. My only complaint is, literally, how far away they are from Leamington. It also feels like you're traveling into the middle of nowhere, when suddenly, this place just appears! Absolutely worth the trip. I can't wait to go here again and buy more of everything!

It's quite small compared with some garden centres although there is a good range of shrubs and trees for sale outside. There is a lovely gift area that also sells foodstuffs such as home made jams, marmalades, cakes and old fashioned style sweets. It has a lovely oldly worldy feel to it. At Christmas time they also have a fantastic range of lights and decorations, although they are quite expensive compared with larger department stores that sell the same sort of things. There is plenty of parking just outside the centre and there is a lovely cafe inside. Well worth a visit even if you are just browsing.

No effort was made to dispose of it. THANKS GUYS. This would be a major problem for an elderly or disabled customer. Perhaps you could think about this........... The self assembly item was just left boxed, so there was no way of checking on quality or damage before they left. They just said phone if there is a problem.
