After years of talking about replacing the seat cushions on our kitchen table chairs and barstools, we finally did it. We took a template of one of the seats to Custom Foam and they had all six chairs done in less than a day. Then we discovered the barstool seats are slightly smaller than the chairs; Custom Foam cut them down to fit (and they didn't charge us even though we were at fault for not noticing the size difference). Talk about a specialty shop! They do one thing and they do it really well. Not many places are still in the business of repairing household items so it was refreshing to find Jim's shop when I needed to replace the foam in my great-grandmother's chair that I picked up from storage earlier in the year. Jim went the extra mile for me on this small (less than $30) project. He reached out to the adjoining dry cleaners to see if they would be able to remove decades worth of neglect from the single cushion. When the answer was "no" he replaced the foam and referred me to an upholstery cleaner that he described as the best in town. My wife and I were having issues with broken springs in one of our couch cushions, and I found this place online and decided to give it a shot. It's located on Olive, right near 170, across from the plaza where Sugarfire Smokehouse is located. It's not a huge or fancy place, but when we walked in, the gentleman working greeted us right away. We explained our issue, and he said he could easily fix it. He showed us a specific type of foam that would make our couch cushion comfortable again. We were sold, and he said he could have it fixed in about 45 minutes. We walked across the street to Sugarfire to have lunch. We hadn't been gone for 15 minutes, and he called us letting us know it was fixed. After lunch, we picked it up and agreed that the problem was resolved. We now have a comfortable cushion again! It's a little pricey ($70 or so), but it's nice knowing that if we have any other problems, we have somewhere to go that we know will do a good job. I would recommend Custom Foam to anyone needing to fix their cushions. read more
