I said "No bother, I will be back later". After that he answered "Do not come back" and shut the the door. Really aggressive person who definetely should not work with people. I have been there before, the Scottish guy is really kind and sociable. Advise from me, do not come close to him, he should learn some manners first. It's a unisex hairdresser that's been there for years under various names but everyone in the area has always called it "The Big Windae" on account of the shop front being exactly that - a big windae. About two years ago the current owner, Boab, took over and decided that was the perfect name for it. He's given it a refurb, with bright furnishings, a sofa that you just sink into and even a fridge full of beers for the gents at the weekend. Recently they've brought in beauticians to do everything from nails to massage and a make up artist on the weekends. Primarily I go here to get my hair done by Jade. I've honestly never had anyone do my colour better than her. She's taken me from brown to copper/blonde ombré in one sitting and this week she's covered up the ombré to give me a full head tint in copper. She spends a lot of time thinking about the perfect way to get the colour to develop so you're not left with big patches of faded colour and the results are always incredibly. She also always throws in a wee conditioning treatment which, when your hair is as thick and long as mine, is a godsend. The place has a lot of character and charm, with loads of staff and regulars having that usual "hairdressers" chat. You know the kind - neighbourhood gossip, life stories etc. It's always bustling and it's a credit to the great care and attention they give to every single client. This seems to be THE place to go for boys in Easterhouse to get their hair done too and that is totally down to the way Boab has transformed the place. The barber side of the salon is ALWAYS busy no matter when I'm in. They're great value for money too, with a full head tint, cut and blow dry coming in at under £60. An eyebrow wax and tint also comes in at a very thrifty £8 and Roseanne is just brilliant at getting the perfect shape. It's a great wee place in an unexpected location and somewhere I'm always happy to pay a visit to.

Popped in here a few days ago after Craig's local barber was randomly shut in the middle of the…read moreweek. The boy is super fussy with who cuts his hair so it took a bit of convincing that another local barber could do as good of a job or better... Thankfully I choose the right spot & got lucky! (As the hair dressers right before this place had a lady walk out with bright blue & pink multi colored permed hair & I think he might have panicked if we walked in as she walked out...) So on to the next place, a spot for men only "Parade Barbers: Bespoke Gents Grooming" and I thought this sounds like a safer choice! The place is small but just right, located on the parade. There were two women who were busy cutting men's hair but were friendly and told us they accepted walk ins. The shop is surrounded by mirrors, a front desk area, two chairs for clients and waiting area containing a couch with a flat screen tv (of course with FIFA ready to be played on a Xbox while the men wait!) Christine (the Proprietor/Creative Director of the establishment) cut Craig's hair and did an excellent job as she did exactly what he asked for. Super nice girl and fun to talk to also! He then proceeded to use clippers and give her a bob cut her hair looked like a bad chinese granny cut. If that want bad enough there wasnt a part of the cut that was how it was ment to be, fringe sides and back all different lengths and squint it looked horrendous. I do need my haircut but I always stay loyal to my usual hairdresser who I will definitely need to visit very soon as I'm starting to look like Cousin It. I was told that this salon sold Dermalogica products and seeing as I usually order mine online, I decided to venture in and see what they had on offer. As soon as I was on Salisbury Place I could see the huge selection of Dermalogica displayed in the window. They offer single products in various sizes and also skin packs that are a full cleansing range each targeted for specific skin types. I always go for the sensitive skin kit and was delighted that they had it - it saves me paying the postage charge online! The staff were very friendly and even though I was only in the salon for a short time I could see that it was very fresh and modern and that the staff were very attentive too. They also sell GHD's and I noticed the brand new ones in purple, green, blue and red.

My hairdresser understood exactly what I wanted and knew what the word, "trim" meant. Not a complex word but from past experience the word is not in the vocabularies of a lot of scissor-happy hairdressers that have obviously assumed it means, "cut as much as you can!" The first time I have left a hairdressers feeling good about my hair rather than thinking of ways I can maybe fix it once I'm home. I also dye my hair myself which often leads to a lot of patronsing looks while being asked questions such as, "do you dye your hair yourself?" as they hold it up and away from themselves like it's diseased. This was not the case in Robert Gordon. The hairdresser didn't even mention the dye in my hair but after considering a change of hair colour for a while I think I might just get it dyed here rather than doing it myself; and not because I felt intimidated and forced but because I would trust them to do a good job. I have never praised anywhere so highly so thank you Robert Gordon. Keep up the good work.
