And, I was told, most of the stock comes from smaller batch producers from Europe and the Americas. I tried stumping them with a sometimes hart-to-find Italian desert wine, but sure enough they had a few bottles. This is a chain store but the people working here actually seem to know something about wine. This store has been around for 182 years so they have had time to perfect their system. Originally a French wine shop whose claim to fame is being the first to sell wine by the bottle and not by the volume. They have the largest wine bottles I have ever seen at 150cl. They are a great gift for a father-in-law by the way. They also have decanters for special dinners, glasses, spirits, champaign, red, white and rose wines. Their prices range from affordable £5 for a drinkable bottle to very old and very expensive.
