Too many issues to list but here are a few examples: Went into his room and found his IV line filled with air while it was actively infusing. IV pump never alarmed and he was sent immediately to CT scan to rule out an air embolism which could be potentially fatal. Hospital staff made aware this IV pole created a fall risk but did not tag it and continued to leave it at my husband's bedside. This hospital is not just negligent, it's dangerous!!

I was actually told these words by the Physician Assistant who "treated" me: IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO RESOLVE YOUR CONDITION AND IT IS NOT OUR JOB TO RESOLVE YOUR PAIN. OUR JOB IS TO MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT DIE RIGHT NOW. MIND YOU: my visit to Bellin came after I had already been seen in an ER in Jamaica (my issues popped up while on vacation); and had a recurrence on my flight home resulting in an emergency inpatient stay in Detroit. 2 days after discharge from Detroit, I was in the ER at Bellin and discharged to follow up with my PCP the next day. My PCP was surprised, saying there was nothing that could be done in a clinic setting and she sent me to Aurora. Aurora admitted me for inpatient care that resulted in emergency surgery and a 4-day hospital admission. After being discharged and speaking to a friend who'd been in the ER a few weeks prior, I found out that Bellin had discharged her from the ER when her condition was, in fact, life-threatening. It is by the grace of God that I am not attending her funeral. This may be more of a judgment on the staffing level of the hospital and maybe the are just too overworked and understaffed to provide a certain level of care but my goodness. Unless and until they get their ER personnel issues resolved, avoid them.

Then, a client came in that had an appointment well after mine, yet she called into the pre exam room before me, and this was 30 minutes before her appointment, yet I'm sitting here for over an hour. Lot of people coming in to have their glasses adjusted so I doubt they are done right the first time. Bottom line, people that have been waiting need to be called first. She kept interjecting, and I told her she should be quiet and let me talk to him. She still interrupted and he said "She is a manager too. She can." She was condescending and snarky, but thought that calling me ma'am made it okay. I told him that I made a trip out there based on the promise that a receipt didn't matter and I would get a refund. They told me the man who told me that didn't have a right to because he wasn't a manager. Well when I called that is who they had me talk to. Shouldn't they have put me through to a manager? I had told that lady "You can see it is one of your products . The plastic box it is in has the store name on. And you can see that most of the dip is still there." She said there is too much of it gone. I had told her that what was gone was what I dished onto the chips (which I also bought there) in my fridge. She ignored that I explained that, and repeated the same thing to her manager. So I had to re-explain that it was on the chips, and in order to get it back I would have to scrape it off the chips. And trust me, most of the dip was still in the plastic box thingie. I had already told the male manager that I was a regular customer who was always satisfied with the guacamole dip until now. It tasted rotten This time. I already explained this. It then he said "Why did you buy it if you don't like it?" Like I knew ahead of time it was going bad. And the female manager still was interjecting, and when I interjected he kept saying "She can if she wants." She still kept tacking on ma'am to make it appear she was polite. People were watching. But the managers didn't seem to care, as they kept the argument going. Even if I was a difficult customer-and I was in the right-the onus is on the store employees to calm the issue down and be the ones to give in. I told them that I know how customer service is supposed to be. I worked in it my entire life, and I am almost 60 years old. He said something contrary. No matter what I said, they had to have the last word, even as I walked away. I said something, he said something back, and I think I let him have the last word. I had an eerily similar experience there years ago. Otherwise most of the employees are nice. There is one woman employee there when this took place. I always liked her. There was a male employee who witnessed it, and I hope he doesn't go along with their peer pressure to please them, if they tell the owner their version. And when I bought the dip, I also bought two bags of tostadas which I now have no use for, and two plastic trays of deviled eggs. I spent a fair amount of money. The eggs were good. I sure hope they have a network of friends who will put good reviews here, to offset mine. Usually people don't waste their time putting reviews if they are satisfied, so the little praises are suspect to me.
