After paying 99$ in the middle of the night for an ear ache virtual appt I phoned the pharmacy and asked how much the ear drops cost and could I get them right away. The two tablespoons of ear drops cost $296.99. Basically 300. In shock I asked could I use medicare, nope. Could I transfer the prescription to my Kaiser pharmacy.Sure. This review is for the pharmacy. I stand in line for a prescription I called in ahead of time. Wait in line for line 5 mins and then to be told they don't have it when I was told it would ready 5pm. I got their at 6pm. Then they say go to the other window. The person in front doesn't know why it's not there. Go to the other line and it's going to be another 15 mins so I leave because I don't have time. Tell the manager of the store. Call the pharmacy on my way out to find out they didn't have it. It's not going to be there til tomorrow. I say why didn't you tell me before I got there? No answer to that. Why didn't the guy up front tell me who's standing 2 feet away from you all? The quality of service at the Photo section is too poor to continue supporting. When I order a Mother's Day card for that specific da, as advertised, I expect it that specific day. I came 16 hours after my order was suppose to be completed, the next day, and they still didn't have it printed nor offered any remedies to the situation at all. Just a nonchalant "Sorry." This is unacceptable to me. This CVS location should remove the photo printing department because it never works and it isn't a dependable service. I called in to order over the counter medication and some wound care products . I am unable to pick up the supplies myself because of recent knee replacement surgery. I was told that thay don't deliver to customers unless they order prescription medication. I live alone and I am unable to pick it up myself. I was very disappointed in CVS. Updating my review, since I haven't been here in a couple years and more importantly, since I had to use the 24-hr pharmacy for the first time the other night. One word. Horrible. Disorganized, unprofessional, and worse yet full of mistakes. It took them about an hour to process 4 customers the whole time I was there. One of the customers was returning vitamins of some sort. So the store manager/supervisor patiently waited with the pharm-tech to return said vitamins. But much like ACME movers in a Looney Toons cartoon, they stumbled around for 15 minutes or so to get the prices right on the register. Never mind the three sickie customers waiting for medicine. After a while, this situation becomes almost a comedy of errors. I started to feel bad for the vitamin dude and was almost willing to pay the poor guy $20 myself seeing these two stumble around at the register. A second customer staggers up to the register saying he needed 'one more pill' because his wife couldn't take one, she needed two. The pharm-tech of course stopped what she was doing to help this man. She finally realized that the prescription hadn't been filled at this particular CVS and that the man would have to come back with the original prescription (makes sense, right?). But the old dude was persistent and finally the pharmacist steps in. She says 'okay' and to just add one pill 'as a favor'. I have no idea what this pill was, but the pharm-tech proceeds to add one more pill to the bottle and gives it back to the surly old man. Really, is this like... legal? Finally its my turn at this mad house. The pharm tech retrieves what she thinks is my cough/cold medicine. I asked her what the active ingredient was. She says she didn't know and would have to ask the pharmacist. Mind you, the pharmacist is like 3 feet away but is on some important phone call at 12 midnight. Since my curiosity is somewhat peaked, I then asked to see the faxed prescription from my doctor. The pharm tech tells me 'it just says cough syrup'. Really? Yeah, just says 'cough syrup'. Wow, is this like... legal? The pharmacist finally takes notice of our conversation and looks over the prescription again. Oh, that's the wrong one she says. Please get the blah-blah-blah syrup from the corner. The pharm tech apologizes profusely and says the pharmacist will fill the prescription in a couple minutes. 10 minutes pass. No other customers. Said pharm-tech is loading the garbage and boasting about how she's off work in 5 minutes. Seeing as how I didn't want to let her off so easily, I asked her for a copy of the faxed prescription, which she begrudgingly obliged. Of course it didn't say 'cough syrup' like she claimed, but a very particular anti-histamine and decongestant (at least my doctor was the sober one in this equation!!) The pharmacist fills the prescription, its a $5 copay. Guess that's the price of a night of onerous 'entertainment' at the late night CVS pharmacy. Thankfully, this train wreck came to an end in about an hour. And if you've read this review in entirety, please be advised its 100% true. The late night pharmacy here is to be avoided at all costs. With so many missteps, its only a matter of time before one of their mistakes will harm one of their customers permanently. Scary stuff if you ask me. read more

There is a night and day difference between this CVS pharmacy and the one in Burbank on San Fernando. The pharmacists here are always thoughtful and patient. I had entered the wrong location for my prescription pickup, but the pharmacist called and corrected my mistake with great attitude and friendliness even when they were obviously busy. My interaction with them has been excellent every time I had to visit this location. I will be selecting this location from now on even if it may be out of my way. read more

Once in a while I have these sleepless nights when out of nowhere, my emotions begin to consume me and I either 1.feel like I could conquer the world if I could only stay up this one night and get something done, or 2. I have a sudden urge to change the color of my hair, or 3. Need to gorge on unhealthy American snacks and booze. CVS is my hero on those nights. Well, living in this tiny little town, CVS is about the only thing open 24 hrs. other than jack-in-the-crack's drive thru. Ironically of all the drugstores in the area, this is the only pharmacy I've never used... So I cannot vouch for it.. Nonetheless, for all the ladies who can relate to me and spend hours browsing makeup and snacks at drugstores, this place is the best. It's got a huge cosmetics section (much larger than average), a giant candy selection, and a decent booze isle. In fact, the store itself is rather large, and entertaining to roam. I especially love it during holiday seasons. The dollar- bargain section and the "as seen on tv" sections are kind of awesome. I have been shopping at this location for the past twenty years and today was my last straw, mostly due to Penny the cashier. Every interaction I have with her is negative. She doesnt listen, is abrasive and rude, and to top it all off, in the middle of ringing my items she says "I have to leave" as in it is time for her to clock out. Um I dont care? you are still at the register working. After not listening to my request multiple times, I asked for the manager who explained to me that I couldnt combine some of my coupons which was irritating but fine. Penny still continued to do what I told her not to do. Also the young philippino kid "helping" me out moves at a snails pace. I've been shopping at this store since it opened. They print massive amounts of coupons that can't ever be used. I have repeatedly tried. Sometimes at all my fault. I took it out of my purse, after I paid, I asked can you still do it? "NO the transaction is over,use it next time" abruptly spoken. My husband came home and said look, I was shopping at CVS, $10. Off $40..... I went shopping a couple days later. "No this is the wrong # you can't use it" As you can imagine it is very frustrated. I asked to speak to Archie who has always help any inquiry at the store. I was told the gentleman next to me was the manager. A few good points: + open 24 hours + really friendly customer service at the front check out desk- props especially to Gayanne, she always has a smile on her face! :) + big store with everything well stocked + spacious parking lot + love the coupons I get via email (25-30% off coupons) + always has my medications on time. This is my pharmacy of choice, mainly because it's open 24hrs. You never know when you will run out of your inhaler and need to refill it ASAP! The staff is friendly, it's clean, and close by my house. The problems they have is when the pharmacy is busy. There can be 15 people in front of me and only 2 cashiers. You just have to go when its not busy...mornings and evening. Avoid lunch hours and between 3pm to 6pm. read more

This is the best CVS "store". This is the worst CVS "pharmacy". Ani the pharmacist, and Silva the tech, are two of the rudest people you could ever talk to. They have no customer service skills. Quite honestly, they don't truly understand the English language very well. It's scary. They even give you the wrong information. They don't care about you as the patient. They can leave you on hold for over twenty minutes without as much as an apology. Stressful. They kept insisting that I pay $648 dollars for a three month supply of a generic medicine. I would pay $0, $10, or $20. Something fishy is going on with these people. Are they on commission, or have stock in some pharmaceutical companies? They try to overcharge the customers around me, too! No matter when I place my prescription order, when I go in, the order is never ready. Given the overwhelming bad reviews for CVS I will also put a boot in. I got to the Montrose store on Verdugo Road in Glendale. They keep the bathroom locked in spite of the fact that the grocery store and adjacent restaurants all have restrooms for their customers and EVERY chain drug store in the area also has a restroom open to their customers. In this store you can not access the bathroom unless you ask to do so then someone will open it. WHY? This is moronic, its either open or it isn't. There is no homeless issue in this shopping center. I have never even seen someone here who might not be a customer and would use the bathroom. I don't know if this is a company policy or just the local manager pandering to the staff. I have the feeling that maybe the staff doesnt want the public using "their" restroom. Maybe CVS makes the staff clean the restrooms. Considering the current medical situation, why doesn't CVS take some small part of their profits and hire a professional janitorial service to clean the restroom instead of making the staff do it? I can understand why the staff wouldn't want to clean up after people. I am now looking for a new drug store. read more

I have been visiting this pharmacy for years. I never realized just how little they cared about their customers until I moved away from college. Employees at this store consistently give me a hard time about refilling my prescriptions, fill prescriptions incorrectly, and are incredibly rude when you try to call or talk to them about issues. It clearly did not matter to them that I did not have the medication I needed and they have only made this situation much, much more difficult and stressful. The location near my college was always 3x as busy but they were never rude or short with me and always worked to get me the prescription I needed. I'm not that naive to think this review is going to change anything, but I have to share my story with fellow Yelpers. I've never had a good experience dealing with CVS, but what I experienced yesterday was a nightmare. The staff at this pharmacy are absolutely HORRIBLE! The pharmacist who was SUPPOSED to help me was Lisa. I wonder if the pharmacists they hire are trained on customer service and professionalism?! She needs to learn a thing or two about how to treat customers. I called to see if my medication was ready and some man picks up. He checks and tells me it will be ready in an hour, so I decide to wait in the area for another hour. I call them in an hour to see if it's ready and I'm told they can't fill the prescription because the prescription is for brand only. Why wouldn't the first person I spoke to tell me this instead of saying it'll be ready in an hour? I demanded they call the doctor after the mess they had already created. She puts me on hold, comes back and says the pharmacist called but it didn't work, so I have to put you on hold again because she's going to try again in a minute. I wait and wait and at this point it's already 30 minutes I'm waiting, but since I'm desperate I have no choice but to continue waiting. I start a new call with another phone and after 15 minutes of waiting the pharmacist, Lisa, picks up the phone. She straight up tells me she hasn't even tried calling the doctor yet. When I ask her why they lied to me she says we never said such a thing. She starts talking on top of me and puts me on hold without even listening to me. At this point you can only imagine how furious I am. I waited over 4 hours for this medication and at the end they told me they can't fill it. They didn't even try fixing their mistake. This will be my very last interaction with them. There are many pharmacies out there that deserve my business. CVS really needs to have someone train its incompetent staff. read more

I'm so surprised by all of the bad reviews for the pharmacy! I usually go to the CVS in Tujunga to fill my prescriptions, since it is closer and has a drive through pharmacy. I had to fill a prescription that was not covered by insurance and was rather pricey, so I found a coupon on goodrx that lowered the price from $130 to $70. I went to the CVS in Tujunga, and they told me their system wouldn't accept my goodrx coupon. I've used goodrx before and had never had any issues. I decided to call the CVS in Montrose and explained to them what had happened. The young lady helping me on the phone told me to hold for a minute, came back on the line promptly and told me she could get it for me for $46. What?! That was even less than the goodrx coupon that the other CVS wouldn't accept. We went over around 9pm, picked up my prescription from the very friendly staff at the pharmacy at the lower price and went on out merry way. Not only was everyone friendly, they got me my prescription at the lowest price possible with zero fuss or effort on my part! I have a bad experience with pharmacy, I got tamiflu (OSELTAMIVIR 6mg/ml) for my 2.5 years old. They should know that the medicine has a bad taste for even adult. But they did not add any flavor on it. How can I make my kid to drink it? And now that I am trying to contact with them in case if they can add any flavor nobody answer the phone. That's why people are rating them so low. So if you don't like your job and don't want to do it right don't work there, go somewhere and do something else. Those are kids that are experiencing to drink their medicine when they really need too, so please think ahead and at least ask or mention to parents that the taste will be horrible. After a while on hold, then someone is answering, I ask about flavor the answer was they should add the flavor during the time that they make it. And I asked why you did not ask about it, you are the one who knoW the medicine taste and the age who has to use it. The result was to put me on hold without any asking if they can or at least some other options. Then I hooked until the same person answer my phone like he is answering another call. Then he said that we always add flavor on it and this one has banana flavor, but I taste it myself there is no flavor and it's really bad that I even can not drink it without. I am so sorry to my 2.5 years old that I push her to drink and now she has a bad experience with medicine. And so sorry for whoever are working their and not doing their job correct. Lauren, the pharmacist at this CVS ran ICD 10 codes (diagnoses codes) to find out what diseases I have for every prescription I dropped off this month and then gave me attitude when I asked why this was suddenly necessary. She said "it's discretionary." Does that mean any time she's bored she can just find out my entire health history? I smell HIPAA violations.... It's really sad to me because I used to shop at CVS quite a bit because I was there all the time for prescriptions anyway. I used to get such large Extra Bucks Rewards that the employees were shocked at the amounts. I transferred all of my prescriptions to another pharmacy today and will never be back. I never had a chance to review this CVS and I think it's time it did. This CVS has been the CVS that I've been going to for almost 13 years. Every time I go they satisfy my needs and beyond. Even if it's busy I always get my questions answered and I always get help. Today wasn't as busy. I went to go and print some pictures. I don't know if he is the manager but Augie answered every question I had. After I printed my pictures I went back home and realized that I had lost my Sd card. So I went back and Augie automatically knew I had come back for my Sd card because someone had turned it in. I am thankful that the staff at CVS are honest.
