I keep telling myself I'll never come back here.. yet here I am again, just trying to grab one quick item and ending up waiting... and waiting... for someone to unlock the case. There are only two employees running the entire front area, and apparently, that's not enough to get the case opened in a reasonable time. It's disappointing because this store is just a mile from my house, but it's changed so much. The shelves are often bare, and the overall experience has gone downhill. If theft or "shrinkage" is such a big issue, why not have a security guard or another solution in place? Something really needs to be done to get this CVS back on track. read more

The CVS has some really great employees, but there are some things that fundamentally should be changed overall. At the pharmacy, you shouldn't have to yell at your confidential information so loud that you wonder if it is a violation of HIPAA. I always come to the pharmacy and for the most part OK, but they need a better way to handle patient privacy. read more

I find the current pharmacist at this location rude and unapproachable. I go because its the closest pharmacy to me. if an alternative opens up I will switch immediately and encourage my friends and family to do the same UPDATE. victor the pharmacist called me about my review and blamed me for overhearing his public chiding of a customer then he told me he will refuse to fill any of my prescriptions going forward.... who can i speak to about his failing of CVS? I've just shopped at CVS for the last time. Every time I go here it's always a pain because everything is under lock and key. There are no employees to open the cases so you just wait. I pushed the button for service 4 times and no one came to open the case, so I just left. I understand the the desire to reduce shoplifting by locking up most of the valuable items, but if you then reduce your staff so there are not enough people to wait on all the customers who need items unlocked, your going to loose business. read more

I think this is the best CVS in the Bay Area. I have not used their Pharmacy services. The Customer Service has been great, especially Stevie who helped me recently. I tried 2 different meal bars from the back refrigerated section. One had caramel, and nougat covered in chocolate. The other was coconut, also covered in chocolate. So good! I apologize for not having the brand name. They were on the top shelf. read more

The pharmacy clerk, Alvarez, is very rude, poorly trained and has poor customer service. I asked for advice on medication, and she told me to ask someone up front, she should have referred me to speak with the pharmacist. She also seen me waiting in line and kept working on something else instead of saying just a minute or ceasing what she was doing to help a customer. The pharmacist had to say, just a minute please. That's a shame. I also had to ask to speak with the pharmacist who was professional and helpful. This clerk needs more people skill training. She should not work around disabled and ill people or anyone, with her hateful attitude. Very disappointing. read more

Clean, well stocked and well lit CVS near Marina Bay Parkway x I-580 in Richmond. It's in a small strip mall with a Tesla charging station, and Starbucks. Lots of new housing nearby, and the State Regional Lab is across the street. Tonight I stopped here to pickup some comfort food in the form of chocolate ice cream. The price was fair. The store was clean and bright inside. The cashier was a Mgr, so no problem there. The problem had nothing to do with the store. I was hesitant about leaving the parking lot because you could hear the loud roar of car engines from a nearby side show or street race. Who knows where the race is going. Oh well, I got to freeway without incident. read more

They don't store the milk properly, it's all expired. 3 times now I bought milk here as an emergency stop, and all three times I've opened the milk and it smelled rancid and had clumps. This happens when the employees leave produce unrefrigerated in the back of the store for too long. This milk is set to expire in 5 more days and it's already smelling like death read more

I just came out from this CVS Pharmacy and felt like I had to write a review. I met the nicest person in customer service--truly one of the best experiences I've ever had! All the workers were incredibly kind and helpful, which really surprised me since I'm not used to this level of kindness. Whether it's because I'm from a different area or because this team is just amazing, I was really impressed. I agree with the other reviewer's opinion. The pharmacy people don't like their job. I don't understand why cvs hire people not willing to work there. I have been getting my meds from this location for 5 years. About every 2 weeks. The male pharmacy and a male tech are so nice and caring. After the male tech left, the new tech with blonde hair is so not helpful and try whatever she could to do less works. I am very disappointed with this location. I have to say, if the cvs management or the job is not what you like. Or if you don't want to help with sick people . You deserve something u like. Well, it's a CVS and they have CVS goods. I've been here a few times. Most recently, I came because Armaitace brewery was having a shindig where they served plenty of beer. But, they ran out of cider. My mission was to get a cold cider for myself. They didn't have it. But, they aren't being penalized for their oversight, however, the rating is because they have the basic items you can find in a basic CVS. read more

This place wouldn't help me with my problem. I bought a $100 Apple Card from them and it wouldn't work so I called Apple, they told me to go back and have the manager help me and fix this problem. This is the nearest CVS to me and normally I go in and get what I need really quickly. However today wasnt the best. 1. Absolutely one of the worst interactions I've had with a cashier in a while. I myself am in the retail industry and I get that its hard and frustrating but the way the cashier with the pink hair treated me was unacceptable. I honestly try to get another cashier if shes there. Ive had multiple experiences with her that have been unpleasant. 2.They dont have carts. With the pandemic I understand that certain aspects are changing in our world and environment. Not only that but when I went in I only found one basket. And that has been my experience every time I go in. Just one basket. 3. They are constantly low on almost every product. It took me four trips to the pharmacy to get medication filled. They are shorthanded, understaffed. I will not be returning.

Okay first off this review is solely for Vincent in the pharmacy. For 18 years, my son has only been able to get shots/take blood while under sedation. See my 21 year old son has severe autism, nonverbal and sensory issues. When he was three he needed to get blood test done, he broke two of the phlebotomist fingers and it took 5 people to hold him down to do. Hence from that moment forward only when sedated. When the covid vaccine came out I desperately wanted him to get the vaccine but our insurance wouldn't put him under sedation (nor would I really want to for just one shot) to get it. So for months I've been roll playing doctor with him. We watched Sesame Street Elmo visits the doctor and Bear in the Big Blue house The Big Blue House call on repeat for the last couple months. I first got my appointment at the CVS in Pinole and I wrote a social story so he could understand all that was going on and watch me while I got my shot hoping it would help him no be so scared. We did a couple dry runs in the house where we recreated what my shot visit was like using a kids doctor play set. I told myself if he even seemed a bit nervous when we finally got there I would call it off as I didn't want him to go thru something traumatic but even more I wanted to keep the pharmacist safe. We went in this morning and while Vincent (our hero) helped a couple other people he continued to check in to thank us for waiting and letting us know he'll be right with us. When it was our turn he took us to the little injection room and let me sit down with my son. I told Vincent I was going to hold my sons hands and put my legs on the outside of him so if he reacts I can be on it immediately. Now let me back up for a minute. When it was our turn and we were at the counter, I asked Vincent if he had any numbing cream. While I didn't even feel my shot because of my sons sensory issues I thought it would be just another little layer of help for him to get thru it. After Vincent lead us to the injection room he went out and found the best numbing cream he could to use on my son. (I almost burst into to tears at that moment for the care and time he took for my son who he knew all of 10 minutes) Everything he did from rolling up my sons sleeve, to putting the numbing cream on he explained to my son. Vincent was so calming and careful with my son. I've rarely had a stranger to my son be so attentive to his needs. Vincent saw my son getting a little nervous as I tried to redirect my son to his phone - so what did he do? Vincent showed my son the needle with the cap on and tapped my sons arm where he would eventually do the shot a couple times playfully telling him "See that's okay". The minute my son started seeming nervous I almost stood up and tell Vincent that we will cancel the shot because I didn't want him to get hurt if my son reacted. See my son is 6'5", 269lbs and while most are intimidated by his size they fail to realize he's probably watching Blues Clues and singing along. He's a big softee. He only reacts when he is scared. But when Vincent started talking to him then tapping his arm at the injection site with the cap end of the needle I could see my son change. While he was still nervous I could see how he trusted Vincent. My son can tell within minutes of meeting you if you're invested in him. He may not be able to talk but he can feel other people. Vincent gave him the covid shot and my son didn't even flinch. He let Vincent put on the bandaid and went back to watching his phone. I write this review not as a customer but as the mother of a child with autism. We have spent 19 years of his life dealing with people who are their to help him treat him as if he was less than because he had special needs. Because he doesn't talk people would think then they don't need to talk to him. Many would treat him as a thing to take care of instead of a person who really needed your help and patience. Vincent is on my very short list of people who I will never forget as he gave my son the biggest gift anyone can give to another - their time, patience, and understanding. Vincent your are a fantastic pharmacist. I saw how you handle each customer with respect and care. But even more so you are a beautiful human being. Your family, your community - raised you to see people with love and care. How you handled my son today can't be taught. You can't fake what you did today. That was pure humanity and I, along with my son D'Artagnan are forever grateful to you. read more

So... er, how exactly do I review this branch of CVS, given that the former Long's Drugs here was *horribly*, terribly managed. The manager(s) were out to lunch here, inept with running the drugstore well. At first I was quite saddened to see Long's go, as I feel that CVS' pricing structure is a tad bit higher, and the sale items and prices were never as value-worthy as the erstwhile Long's. I'm not a huge fan of the need to sign up for their 'loyalty program' in order to see any savings.. wag of the finger... nah. No thanks; not into it. The store itself is definitively neater and more organized than Long's, and I think the carpeting and lighting are more welcoming than the L word. Hours are comparable enough: early open, later close (2200, was it?) Still though, I do not know how to compare this CVS to other ones, as I usually tend to go elsewhere for sundries runs (er, can we say Costco, or perhaps, Tar-zhay?) I wouldn't put my heath (and sanity) in the pharmacist's hands at this branch. The dude is a space cadet and will ask you the same question several time in a given 1-minute conversation and will blame you if he missed any of the info you've just shared for the 10th time. Zero accountability. Once he asked me to spell out my last name twice and very slowly to him (Parsons). Not even 2 minutes later, and with a straight face, he said, "You're not in the system MR. PERKINS. Are you sure you're in the right pharmacy?" You cannot make this sh*t up! On my last (and definitely final) visit, I was trying to get an important prescription prior to a long trip. I explained the need to him and he talked over me for no reason. Then put me and my doctor through a 4-hour ordeal or validating a prescription even though he already had the info. After that, the dude had the nerve to turn around and say, "oh, we don't have that in stock." When I reminded him of the 4 hours of back and forth he put us through, he had the nerve to say, "you should have told me you needed it right away." Really? That was literally the first and frequent thing I kept repeating to him for 4 solid hours. Four hours I will never get back. Then, he marked my medication as sold in the system, even though he didn't sell me anything, and because my prescription qualified as a "controlled substance," the other CVS branches refused to fill because they thought I was double dipping. They told me no pharmacy would fill my prescription for another MONTH! If it hadn't been a crucial health matter, I would have walked away 1 hour into that ordeal (or less!). I ended up having to get Caremark involved -- took two more days to resolve the issue with the error he caused, and I ended up having the order shipped to my destination, which was EXPENSIVE. Avoid, avoid, avoid for so many reasons! I genuinely think he'd mess up your prescription because he has always been careless handling my orders. Never again. read more

The aisles are never stocked, everything is overpriced, the liquor is locked up & there is never anyone available to open it (just waited ten mins & no one showed up to help). Can I give negative 5 stars???? Please! I used Target Pharmacy formally, and happy for 10 years! Moved to Bay Area and this was the closest most convenient pharmacy and drug store. The store stock is poor, and is not well laid out or organized. Staff is scarce as sparse as inventory, especially at check out. I'm not very picky shopper . However just pick up basics we have to conduct-rock-paper-scissors to determine who goes in. Yep... It's that bad!!!! Say you want a pack of gum or a box of band aids. From the time you go in to come out can be 15 - 30 min! Really???? If I'm lying I'm flying. Now on on to the pharmacy.... Ugh...ouch... Uhhh. That's how bad this is. Typically one pharmacist working and no one else to help. The fastest was 30 min. But I've waited 2 hours before. And that's for an automatic renewal. Their prescription alert phone call system is so piss poor the pharmacist even jokes, "you can't really pay attention to it". I've read the reviews that folks were shorted on meds... How can that be? I thought there are regulations! That is until it started happening to me. I was out of a prescription and they flat out told me I'm not out yet and we can't fill it. Really??? I had enough so I moved my plan to Target Pharmacy in Albany only to find out they are also part of the CVS group. Guess what... It didn't matter, they were equally inept! The CVS on Meeker is so bad now that my prescriptions and whatnot are moved. I will never step foot in that place again not even for band aids or chewing gum! I give this rating to the pharmacy. Stephanie and the main pharmacist are the best. The pharmacy is understaffed and Stephanie works so hard every time i come in. She always remembers me and the pharmacists have always been kind, and really appreciated kindness in return. It is not their fault that the store is poorly managed. But they are always willing to help and their service is great. Pauline, on the other hand, is a sourpuss and i too have had a bad experience. She just is not very pleasant. Hopefully the new hires that seem really good will learn the ropes and get promoted to get the rest of the store properly stocked and give Pauline some competition for her job. Everyone has masks and gloves on. I cannot get a cart because they have been all stolen. I have gone to stores where they unlock the cart as you leave and when you return the cart indoors you are done. I had a basket trying to carry 12 rolls of toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, baby wipes, and a diabetic monitor. Please bring the grocery carts back. Perhaps security can get the cart or make sure they are returned. read more

My partner and I come to this CVS multiple times a month. We like how clean it is and we can always find the things we need. Usually we come in and it's quiet and they usually aren't too busy. We recently visited and were helped by a cashier named Tiara. She greeted us as we walked in and we had her ring us up as well. She was extremely helpful and we even complimented her on her work ethic. As people who work in customer service, she hit every service step we could have thought of and we were impressed with how efficient she was. She told us about the feedback survey to let them know how they did and we tried to do it for her but the link on the receipt said the page does not exist. So we found Yelp! Ok, me last 2 visits the location has had no milk, no butter, no spread. These are basics that any food/pharmacy should have. I ended up buying a 1 quart of almond milk at a staggering $5.99 so, that almost 4 times the price of a regular gallon of milk. If your reading this I'm trying to help you and the retailer. Also, quick tip clean your fridge regularly especially in a pandemic please. The crew are ok, but not having the right merchandise is why, I'm giving this score.. read more

This place is a mixed bag. You get your rift raft from The Richmond you see on the news and the newer people that live in the area Marina Bay. On Friday nights you can see the alcoholics pick up their night supply for a hard weeks work. Based on the prices, this is just a fancy liquor store. I am not sure of the pricing structure of 2 for $8.00 OR $4.59 each, not sure if that is legal in CA. It's it's 2 for $8 it should be $4 each period. I am guilt of shopping by to pay the over priced ice cream just because I need my sugar fix. The ice cream section has missing prices and when you get the ice cream home, it looks like it was melted and then refrozen again. read more

I've been going here for a few months and keep expecting it to get better. The store looks a bit tacky and classless, but it's big, and open, and there's pretty much nothing else around here. One problem is the employees, who seem inexperienced or just plain ignorant of good service. I ask where simple things are, such as lighters, or kitchen items, and they draw a blank. Even if they do answer it's often with indifference. Today I used the ATM, and the directions said to take my card out immediately and it wouldn't budge. An employee came over and got real impatient with me though my problem was real and not my fault. That doesn't seem customer friendly at all. I'd like to use the store more but am tired of chasing people around and dealing with peoples' moods of the day. There are very few pharmacies in the Marina Bay/Point Richmond areas. Every time I have gone into this CVS, I have had a great experience. The employees are fast to respond to requests and very kind. They also have many items which many pharmacies don't such as holistic options, and a large variety of options for basic items like toothpaste, soap, etc. Anyone complaining that this store doesn't have a lot of grocery items should understand that it is primarily a pharmacy and any grocery items are a bonus. read more
