The lady manager doesn't have what it takes to be a manager. I wonder how she got the position. I was trying to use my JCPenney card at this store because I know they do accept this card. But the cashier told me she didn't think so. So to be sure she asked one of the store clerks about it and said no again, now one lady approached us without identifying herself (she turned out to be the manager)and bluntly said NO we never accepted that card here. Well that is fine by me but does she really have to give me an attitude? Where is the courtesy here anyone??? She was even frowning when she said no. I was expecting her to decline it and say Oh so sorry for the inconvenience but we don't accept that card here, is there any other card you can use, or is there anything we can help you with? Where's the cordiality? Was she ever trained to be customer oriented. I could've just shrugged my shoulder and let it pass, but because of this I phone the JCPenney Customer Rep and I was told CVS does accept the card and would like to talk to the manager, but she was nowhere in sight and was told she was on a conference call. Conference call or taking a break or just don't want to be bothered at all? The clerk by the name of Jeffrey finally assisted me and apologized for the inconvenience it caused me. Lucky's pharmacy having closed , has left us with CVS Pharmacy . Due to its proximity it made sense to use them. I've concluded with my many visits the employees there are not happy, particularly the pharmacy -lacks customer service and at least courtesy. The 3 employees I encountered and then the manager who could care less. I was in pharmacy line and asked if They could unlock Tylenol cabinet before I get my prescription so I can pay for both at the same time. This display is 12 feet from the pharmacy counter. I was told to push the button above on display case and the front staff at the check outs would unlock it . I thought that was odd since she was right there. I asked if they had liquid gel- whatever is there was her answer. Then the front staff gal started to walk up to the counter in the front of the store with tylenol. I asked cant I pay for it here at the pharmacy the same time I pay for my prescription- that irritated her and she huffed off. No common sense too. I'm sorry they have to work perhaps this is why they lack smiles and customer service . Walgreens is not close, maybe they can prove to be better. read more

i usually come here for the ad specials. they tend to be pretty good when they have certain items on sale like bottles of water or ice cream during the summer or gloves and scarves during the winter. Pharmacy kept me on hold for over ten minutes. When I called back they would not take my name and number to call me back but put me on the hold of no return. Even their hold music was distorted and out of date. I called back the next day and was put on hold again. Zero stars for customer service. read more

Rats! Ok. I was checking out some plastic storage bins in the laundry isle.. I grabbed a plastic container and all over the lid is a huge mess of rat turds and pee.. and then I noticed the whole section had this.. I went and found the manager.. walked him over and before we even got there, he said.. "oh I know there is a problem there" and I said yah, like a rat problem.. he then told me he knew it and someone was coming in soon to take care of it.. and he waves his hands and says "yeah, don't touch this stuff".. I about lost it. Hello! How about move the stuff & clean off the shelves.. or AT LEAST put caution tape or something!! I stuck my hand in it. This review is for the pharmacy only. I am new to neighborhood and wanted to try this pharmacy before leaving my CVS on White Road. Dropped off RX that was written in December and I was told to comeback tomorrow. They had to check with the doctor as the medication was a controlled substance. As directed, I returned the next day and was told that they had destroyed my RX and I would need to get a new one from doctor. I asked why they would do that, the response was it was written in 2020 so I had to be destroyed. I explained to the clerk that my doctor is in San Mateo and now I would have to drive there to pick up a new RX. No apology, just mumbling. After explaining to doctors staff what happened and driving to San Mateo for new RX, I returned and dropped it off again. This time the girls took the RX and gave it to pharmacist. The pharmacist told me that they didn't have enough to fill my RX (30 pills)and they would get more tomorrow. I left Rx and a short time later the pharmacist called me and told me to return to pharmacy and pick up my RX. I was told she didn't have enough and it would be better to find it at another pharmacy. I asked her which pharmacy ? She said maybe Berryessa?? I asked her to check if they have it. To which she responded , you can call them and ask if they have it! OMG!! Absolutely the worst pharmacy ever! Zero customer service, poor interpersonal skills and lack of supply. I won't return for another try, instead I'll drive the extra distance back to my pharmacy that actually takes care of the customer. read more

Visited CVS at the end of August. Store was clean and the checkout clerk was very courteous. However, BIG FAIL - I purchased a single product which rung up at a price HIGHER than the display price. Informed the clerk that it was high, then he called for a price check (Three times because no one was coming). Someone finally came, but apparently this was a low priority. When we went back to the aisle where the product was, he stopped a couple of times along the way to help other customers before checking the display price. We then walked back to the cashier who was not sure how to handle the transaction. He called someone up, then was finally able to process things. So ... a big waste of time just to purchase one thing. Thought I would be out in under five minutes instead of over a quarter hour. It felt that they stall so that the customer won't bother the next time. They are right - I won't bother the next time, because I will go to the Rite Aid down the street instead. In short, BUYER BEWARE and be alert. There is a good chance things will not ring up at the display price (Yes, this did happen before, both at this CVS and their predecessor, Longs. but on those occasions, I did not notice until I was home and didn't bother to save everything and go back. read more

Worse CVS I have ever been to. If you order 1 hour photos online, don't expect them to be there when you pick then up, even if you received a confirmation email. I waited in the photo line for 15 minutes only to be told that they could not find my order. A woman behind me said that she has been back three times and each time they have not been ready. I was told that it would take 20 minutes for my 47 pictures to print. I waited there, starring at the machine, and not even 10 minutes later they were done. I had to run and get the "photo" guy to help ring me up. read more

The store is ok, but the pharmacy is the worst I have been to. I am only forced to use it because my insurances mandates it. I am seriously considering paying full price and going elsewhere. They always give me wrong information, they are slow, and lack customer service. I have worked in pharmacies for many years so I am not just being picky or clueless about how pharmacies operate. It's pointless arguing with them too because they have no sense of accountability. I can tell they are unorganized and inefficient. I am going try a different CVS even though it's out of the way. This review is for the pharmacy and I would give a zero star if there is such an option. I brought in with my eye drops prescriptions and I saw the assistant (Ruth) entered my information into the computer and picked the medications off the shelf, ready to go. However, I waited for 30 minutes, watching people came in, called in, picked up their medicines, etc. but my name was never called. So I asked Ruth and she said the pharmacist (her name is Vy) needed to look at my prescription to change something. So I waited and waited, but Vy never attended to my prescription. (When I initially dropped off my prescription, I had to consult Vy about an arthritis pain relief, her attitude was very impatient and obnoxious). After waiting for another few minutes, I asked to speak to the manager. Ruth said the pharmacy's manager is off so I asked to speak to the store manager. The store manager explained that they must attend to calls as a higher priority before the in-store customers because they have a policy that calls need to be answered within a specified time. When I explained that I had a baby at home as it's close to dinner time and if he could help to expedite my prescriptions, the store manager said he couldn't do anything about it because the store manager had no right to speak to the pharmacy department. I ended up leaving the store with my prescription and decided to take my business to Walgreens. I was home late for dinner and without my medications. read more

So it's Friday evening and I am hanging out with two friends. It was good time to catch up over some funny stuff on Netflix. So we arrive at the house and quickly decide to make a run to the store. It's not that I have a drinking problem and that's why I am not drinking. But I simply don't have a thirst for beer like I do wine or a mixed cocktail. Anyways, it had been two months of just staying away from all booze in general which brings me to the experience I had with an employee and his managers at a (McKee editor) cvs in San Jose CA. See my friend had an expired I. D. And DL so he asked me to pay for the beer case that was intended for himself and our friend who stayed behind. The employee said he wouldn't be selling me the beer because of how I looked. I was confused AF. I paused... Said what's wrong? He wouldn't touch my cash or I. D. To verify. He wouldn't even speak to me in the same language I used to communicate which was English. Instead of facing and talking to me to explain why he was refusing me service he turned to face my friend to the side of me and spoke in a different language (Spanish). I am fluent in three languages, one is Spanish. So I was aware of the context that was being exchanged. He was saying he was refusing service because I looked drunk. I quickly replied I hadn't a sip in more than 2 months. He denied accepting any syntax supporting my sobriety. Furthermore, he calls for management who is assisted by a secondary manager. At this point I am getting irritated for being falsely accused of being drunk. His managers sided with him and replied we can't take the risk because what if something happens after we sell you the beer. I re assured them it wasn't even for myself it was for said friend and friend who stayed behind due to R. A. DISABILITY. Already fed up with the lack of professional business ethic conduct I finalize my time by simply asking if I was allowed to buy gum and chips. They allowed me to at least buy that. I walk off immediately before my blood pressure ris. What a great wonderful expression of why business need to train employees on discrimination and the local laws protecting classes. This was an arbitrary judgment of refusing me service because of my appearance. At the most I was tired from an early morning workout session that day but far from drunk. My speech was normal, I wasn't poorly dressed. Wearing a long sleeve thermal and sweat pants in uniform and black Tom's paired with a black jacket to combat the cold rainy weather conditions. The last occurrence was at a chevron gas station when I asked the clerk to exchange some change for bills. The clerk didn't even bother looking at the register. I was asking for less than $5 in singles. Also in San Jose not too far from said Safeway store. Both these incidents it was by a Spanish ethnic person. I am from Spanish ethnic background so this makes it even more ridiculous. I don't look like a traditional Mexican. Regardless, I am Mexican and we are not all the same looking, height, style, complexion, educated, etc. I am considering filing a complaint at the labor if business office downtown. I drive to this location for a reason. Superior Customer Service! There are two CVS' closer to my house but there is no substitution for good customer service. Today just confirmed this. I went specifically for extra bucks rewards and they were out my product. My mistake because the coupons in the Sunday paper were good and I waited until Friday. I asked the manager if there was anything he could and without hesitation he gave me the extra bucks anyway and apologized for being sold out. I was amazed. Everyone is extremely friendly there and they go out of their way to assist you. And another plus is that it is never crowded. Great Job CVS! read more

I purchased a Subway gift card for my co-worker here in December for our secret Santa. The convenience of having gift cards was appealing since I was shopping there anyways. At work today my co-worker told me the gift card I gave him did not work. Luckily I still had the receipt and took it tonight to get it corrected. I walked up to the photo lab area where a women whom I assumed was the manager was helping the line, as it was getting busy with only one cashier at the main cashier area. It was my turn and i explained my story. It was apparent she wasn't ready for my situation, neither was I. I had just got off work and loath doing errands like this, especially when its cold outside. Frazzled she called the store manager and also confirmed from the back phone number of the card that the card had never been activated, although paid for. I spent 30min with the supervisor and ended up leaving with a cash refund of what I had paid for. I was appreciative for her service but it was unfortunate that i cant purchase a card here again due to the experience. read more

The first time I came here the cashier wouldn't take my gift cards because she thought I was a thief, and the second time I came here the pharmacy turned me away at 4:00pm while trying to get a prescription filled, "we're too busy, try the other one." OMG! Good luck if you are on Medi-cal. Don't try doing your reordering online because that website is so screwed up. Most of the pharmacists are as helpful as a heart attack. All but 2 pharmacy tech are equally as helpful as the pharmacists. When I was paying cash for all my meds things were different. I was treated with respect. I guess being on Medi-cal makes me some kind of low life now. They are always changing the rules on when you can get refills. Every month is different. I'm changing pharmacy's ASAP. So the pharmacy manager, Katherine, is a wonderful person who really went far and beyond to get me my medication when I had a bunch of logistical problems from my insurance, hospital, and pharmacy. Honestly, I'm so grateful to her and when I met her to get my meds she remembered why I needed a 6 month supply (studying abroad in Europe) and said "have a good trip". Basically, what I'm saying is: Katherine is a kind awesome person and I'm going to name my first born after her. Haha. I dunno about the other workers there, um an old pharmacy technician lady was kinda rude and made snarky comments when I showed her a discount coupon for my meds which were gonna be 102 dollars without it so I dunno if I'd say this specific pharmacy is great? But Katherine totally is. She contacted the other pharmacies to get my meds shipped over when it turned out my current location didn't have them anymore and continued to contact my hospital to make sure I could get the right amount of packs for my trip. So yup, that's all. I can finally get ready for Germany without worrying about my meds now! Yaaaay! read more
