One of the best things about a business is when its employees help a customer dispose of a nuisance errand. Ryan at the CVS Pharmacy at 626 West Front Street in Traverse City did that today. I needed a digital photo to renew my passport. I haven't gotten one since back when my passport was first issued, and had no idea what had to be done. Fortunately, a Google search directed me to CVS. A CVS clerk directed me to Ryan. And Ryan handled the multi-step process as smoothly as anyone could ask. Ryan probably does this so often that he considers it no big deal. It was. I'd already been to another business which supposedly offered the service; turns out it didn't. So it was a pleasure to work with an employee who knew his business, did it efficiently, and was mighty friendly while doing it. There's plenty of pharmacies around Traverse City. So I go in cvs every other day atleast. Lol Ryan as a manager representing CVS is phenomenal. The way he treats EVERYONE is amazing. He is so kind and sweet. He treats every customer the same. There needs to be more of people like him running businesses. He goes out of his way for everyone I have seen him interact with. It's nice know a boss handles people the way he does. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever used. They are slow. Not open until 9, and most prescriptions take hours. So I patiently decide to come back later, only to find that they take a mid-afternoon lunch break. Got a prescription yesterday for one ten-day supply of a pull per day, and they mistakenly provided only one pill, not ten. I am trying to phone them about it, and have already been on hold for over half an hour. Horrible horrible horrible. read more

I know the pharmacy is a very hostile work environment. The last time I picked up a prescription from the drive through, the pharmacy tech literally screamed at me because I questioned the cost of my medication. It's rare to see someone smile while working in the pharmacy. read more

Today was a nice day for a walkabout. My mother visited the Farmer's Market and I walked to this CVS to pick up some vitamins, candy for my co-workers, and a cold beverage to deal with the humidity and heat outdoors. I also had two dollars off from a coupon from a previous transaction, those mile-long receipts ya know? Woo-pee. Good stop and then I continued on to the bay and met my mom by the volleyball courts. Sooo, got my exercise, and had a successful errand. If I get nothing else done today, it's still a good day. read more

I was told that I have to drive an hour and a half to my "nearest" CVS, instead of my local pharmacy that I've never had an issue with. Within the first week of ordering my refill, they've already lost one of my medications. Paying premium prices, for subpar services. ‍ read more

Been using CVS on front st for years, we drive from Gaylord to go there. we were dropping off new scrips today and the Pharmist was so rude when the clerk said it would be about 2 hrs she snapped and said "unless it's an emergency and I can get caught up It won't be filled until tomorrow. we are too busy for new prescriptions.". so we left and went to the CVS at Target had all filled in a half hr. Never going back to front street. We also we're told the last time we would have to preorder two of our meds because that weren't stock. If I could give negative stars I would...... this review is about the pharmacy and prescription pickup specifically. This location has the worst customer service in the pharmacy. I receive texts and emails constantly saying that my prescriptions are ready to be picked up. EVERY time I go to this store to pickup the prescriptions, they either are not ready, or have "no record" of that request. RIDICULOUS! Today, same thing..... "we have 3 prescriptions for you, but 2 aren't ready yet...... should be ready in 20 - 30 minutes". Come back at 1:29 pm (they close for lunch from 1:30 - 2:30). Person at register was finishing with a customer and then some rude worker from behind her says "close down the window right now, or we will never get our break!" Other lady does....... No other words; no sorry; no nothing but terrible customer service. EVERY time at this location...... and it is always them messing up the communication. Worst pharmacy ever! The pharmacy staff is consistently rude. Today, there was no "thank you", just a dead pan look on the person who waited on me. As she turned her back and walked away, I said "you're welcome" and she turned around and said "thank you". Then, at the front of the store, two cashiers were complaining about another one right in front of us customers. Something is wrong with the demeanor here. I'm done with this store. read more

We've been long time CVS customers for a long time, mainly because of its location and drive-thru window (with sick kids it was a life saver) but the department has gone down hill. The pharmacy is short staffed, communication lacking and prescriptions often taking much longer than promised. Today I waited (again) in the parking lot, with my small children, for over 40 minutes for them to correct my prescriptions. ‍ read more

Thank heavens for CVS pharmacies in a pinch!! While on a bereavement trip, my return flight was cancelled due inclement weather. Called at closing time (unbeknown to me) & the pharmacist stayed after ~20 mins to help me sort out my options for critical Rx & 3 other standard ones I take. Long story short, tried another pharmacy in case they had what I needed, but they didn't & weren't nearly as friendly, compassionate or helpful. This morning, I went to pick up my standard ones & met same CVS pharmacist who helped so much by phone the night before. It was like a commercial - easy, kind, caring, fast & efficient. Worst pharmacy I have been to in long time. Staff was very rude. Especially some guy named lance. All 3 staff members took phone call after phone call while I stood there and waited for meds for my 4 year old son. Who had just been to the hospital. Pharmacist took very long time trying recalculate the prescription into generic. Even had to call the dr back to help figure it out. Then I had to call the dr to make sure he did it right since he offered no explanation to a concerned parent. Go someplace else. read more

I'm on vacation in Michigan for a couple of weeks, and I ran out of a needed prescription medication. I stopped at the CVS in Traverse City and asked the pharmacist, "I hope you can help me." She said, "I'm sure we can." She followed that up with a phone call to my home pharmacy. My order was ready in less than half an hour. She even recommended a great lunch spot while we waited. read more

This CVS location is the worst i have ever seen. On vacation from Middle Georgia i realized i would need to fill my prescription before my trip was over. I ordered my eyedrops for my glaucoma on Sunday at the closest CVS to our vacation location. I knew this item is not a stock item and would need to be ordered days in advance. I was told my prescription was ready that following Wednesday which would have been perfect. I made arrangements to travel to this pharmacy (3 hours from our vacation location) and in route i was called and told they had "left my prescription out of the refrigerator overnight" and they needed to reorder it so i would have to pick it up the following day. The following day i traveled again 3 hours to this CVS and was told "this is not a stock item so we cant refill it. We will have to order it". I asked them to cancel my order so i could have it refilled at my local CVS since we were now close to heading home. I ended up having to call them twice to have it canceled after that because it was still pending in the system and wouldn't let me reorder at the CVS back at home. I finally called my local CVS and had them straighten it out for me and order my eyedrops. Now i am completely out of my prescription for several days while I head home. This CVS location needs to stick to selling vitamins and otc medicines because it clearly does not know how to handle pharmacy related needs. read more

TERRIBLE experience with Pharmacy today. I am here on vacation - lots of vacationers this time of year. I called pharmacy to have them fax a refill request to my doctor back home AND THEY WON'T DO IT! Instead they requested my doctor call them. First, faxing the request to any doctor is standard operating procedure. Second, it is VERY difficult to actually coordinate and speak to a doctor generally. Third, I am quite occupied with activities as I am on vacation. CVS rocks in Chicago, in Traverse City they don't know their ass from your elbow! Take a course in CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! read more
