This was my first visit to this CVS location. I came by to pick up an online order. The employees weren't necessarily enthusiastic, but were present and took their time. The manager was friendly, apparently I had spoken to him on the phone when requesting them to hold my order until the day I was able to come. Once he found out I was there to pick up the package, he happily told the employee to check out the items for me. The store itself looked large, but definitely aged. I didn't even think to walk around and check out the sales, like I normally would when I visit a CVS. I mostly just wanted to walk out of there immediately...mostly to beat traffic. There is plenty of parking available, shared by other stores in the shopping center. If I do return, I'll be sure to check out the aisles and take pictures! read more

Have been to this CVs pharmacy MANY times in the past 10 years - twice (both recently) I have experienced issues with meds where I needed the help of the pharmacist - once where I was having a rash reaction to a specific generic of my meds, and once when I somehow misplaced or miscounted and needed to cover the week before my next meds prescription. BOTH times (first with the Pharmacist and this time with staff member Mathew - they were patient and helpful and got me put to rights ASAP. We are now located in Oakton, but still I drive to this location each month because the pharmacy staff are awesome. read more

It's convenient. Also I'd like to thank CVS, for not selling tobacco products. That took guts, but was the right decision. The company from Rhode Island is everywhere now. It seems there's always one within walking distance. They are getting some pushback from Walgreens, as CVS usually has higher prices. That is a bit of a let down. The key is knowing how to use their mile long receipt coupons. I don't have time for that, but people I know have saved considerable money with these. This is a clean location, with plenty of helpful employees. It works for the basics. read more

This CVS was huge and had everything. I recently went here for my flu shot at the pharmacy. Service was efficient, polite, and quite fast. They answered all of my questions and went beyond in terms of customer service. The store was well organized and fully stocked for the holidays with cheerful decorations. Great service. read more

Large, older looking CVS that's open 24/7 and has everything you'd expect at a CVS including a Minute Clinic and a pharmacy (neither of which are open 24/7). Not really sure why the store is open 24/7 but the pharmacy isn't, kinda weird. It does the job if you live near here but I wouldn't make a special trip and don't come here if you need the pharmacy outside usual hours. read more

I made an appointment at the Minute Clinic because I had hearing loss and suspected it was ear wax buildup. After keeping me waiting for an hour beyond my appointment time the nurse practitioner deigned to see me. She looked in my ear, confirmed my suspicion and told me she wouldn't treat me and that I should use debrox and take care of it myself. She acted like my request was a huge waste of her time. Don't come here for anything, these medical school rejects will not help you. read more

He was so helpful with finding something for me and also helping me with my CVS care pass. So friendly and patient. I also watched him helping other customers while I was in there. I called in my prescription one morning and they said it would be ready soon. I came in and it wasn't ready yet. Ok, reasonable. They said it would be 15 minutes but I had to go to work so I couldn't wait. I came back 5 HOURS LATER and it still wasn't ready. I had to wait another 45 minutes while each employee told me something different. One said it had been ready while the pharmacist told me many times she was working on it. Don't go there for the pharmacy. Everything else is great, but not the pharmacy's organization. read more

This place is kind of unorganized, the employees are unhelpful if you ask where things are and it isn't labeled on the aisle board, except for one man, I didn't get his name but he was very nice, however one of the cashiers that they have later in the evening is a total spastic, she made me entirely uncomfortable and was frankly just inept at anything beyond being a plastered on smile. The pharmacy is slow, the whole place smells a bit musty, I really don't see myself coming back here. read more

Worst location! Short of staff and extremely long wait time! Don't use this location if you don't want to waste your life away waiting!

Very busy pharmacy so choose your hours well (2-4 PM or 7-8). Their online Caremark Ordering system is not visible to the store so I get a text saying my CVS caremark prescription is ready and go there with nothing to get. Later email says it is being shipped. Standing in line and clerk checks with no information proves irritating. Getting shots like pharmacy easy at right times with no lines. I have never tried their curbside pickup but noticed no one parked at the curb waiting so that is not a good sign. Staffing thin since 2 self checkout scanners put in place in OCT. Familiar faces all gone. However, Nadim who seems to be day time manager is super helpful as their scanners are quirky compared to other stores and require lots of help. She always has a big smile. Also she zinged out my wife's passport photos with expertise last week and knows where to find items. Pricing at CVS is not great that even with extra care card discounts and often Shelf coupons show 2 or 3 for a big discount and 8 million useless coupons printed with each receipt most everyone beats their prices except Walgreens. Clearly no coupons means items are Way overpriced. They are big and everywhere...but. much more competition out west. read more

You would think living in a well to do area like Vienna that this cvs would have its shit together. Idk what y'all need to do (hire more people, battery management) but y'all gotta get it together. Everytime I come here it's something. First they lost a prescription my doctor prescribed it was ready on Monday I come on Friday and it's not ready the cashier can't help me so I have to wait in the drop off lane which isn't socially distance and a hot mess. This morning I went into the CVS Store in Vienna, Virginia to get three items. Went through the store a couple times looking for the final item but to no avail when this very attentive employee / manager asked if he could help me locate something, for which he did. He walked me to its location saying that this item was a challenge to find for most people. He then walked me to the front of the store, opened a register, and rang-out the items -- his name is Will. Made a 2:30 flu shot appointment. Was told to wait in corner. Did that for 40 minutes with no one looking at me again. The CVS store web site says there's a 10 minute wait yet after 40 minutes I am still here ignored. I've been getting my prescription here for a couple of years. Dial the number, select a pickup date/time and service is always quick and friendly at the counter. I notice that everyone is so polite and courteous. One time I lost my critical medication soon after I picked it up. By the time I noticed, it was past 1AM, took a couple hours to retrace my steps to no avail. I called the following day and the lady on the phone did everything in her power to get me an immediate replacement. These people deserve more than 5 stars. Poorly run pharmacy. I went to drop off a prescription and handed the pharm tech (Nick) my card. Instead of handing the card back to the customer, he dropped it on his side of the wide counter for me to reach over and pick up. Common courtesy. I hope he doesn't do this to the older seniors who aren't able to stretch over and pick up. I hope the store manager or pharmacist addresses this. If service like this continues, Amazon is going to eat your lunch. read more

I asked another employee and she was able to tell me yesterday. I was stared at the entire time while I was checking out in self-check since she decided not to be behind the counter. Having a rough day? Spiked a fever? Hacking up uber amounts of lung butter? Feel like someone is stepping on your head? Well, look no further because this CVS has a Minute Clinic waiting for you! Now, I pretty much do not like primary care doctors. Why? Well, several reasons: 1. They are overworked with schedules that don't stop. What? I'm sick now and you want me to get an appointment in 7 days? Screw you. 2. They can't really do much except prescribe you medication for that condition you already pretty much diagnosed from WebMD. 3. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand receptionists seem to think that their sole purpose in life is to be a righteous bitch. Yes, this is in just about EVERY medical office I go to. Sure, you're dealing with sick patients who give every amount of attitude, but if you blanket me when I'm trying to be polite and charming despite my phlegmy voice, runny nose, or flushed face from fever, then cut me some slack, hooker. So - how can you avoid all of that? Go to a minute clinic. I was surprised to hear about these but think they're the greatest invention since sliced bread. For those little conditions that require a little bit of antibiotics (sinus infection, UTIs, URIs, etc.) then you can stop in, wait for a bit (provided the waiting list isn't horribly long), and be seen by the nurse practitioner or PA on staff. I went in a little skeptical but the NP seemed on her game and was able to provide care that was on par to any physician that you would see elsewhere. Have insurance? Great - pay your co-pay. Don't have it? Pay anywhere from $50-100 depending on services with most services seeming to average in the $65 range. Cheap compared to a "doctor" visit. I'll be back for the small stuff and at least my wife and I know we don't have to wait very long to be seen. 20 minutes without an appointment is much better than dealing with a bitch to get an appointment a week later. This is, by far, the worst pharmacy I have ever used. Consistently, over three years they have "lost" prescriptions, given me prescription bags with nothing in them and have spent countless hours ironing out the problems with doctors and our insurance company caused by the pharmacy staff. To be fair, it appears that this location has handled the vast majority of prescriptions in the area for a good number of years. The drawers are always full of filled prescriptions waiting to be picked up and there are continually long lines. Picking up a prescription is regularly an hour-long ordeal. The length of the wait is exacerbated by similar problems of disorganization and poor customer service which appear to plague a good number of customers. There appears to be only one pharmacist on duty at any time, helped by a handful of assistants. The assistants, it appears, are where the problems begin. I often have to explain what I am looking for several times. On any given number of times I go to pick up a regular monthly prescription and they have "lost" it. They don't have any record of it or they don't have any refills on file any more. This is an issue that has also plagued my doctor's office who at one point told me that they couldn't spend any more time helping with these issues as they had never seen a pharmacy "lose" one prescription with 12 months worth of refills so many times. Several times, when picking up my birth control, I have been handed an empty bag. The package of pills is so slim it seems that they forgot to actually put it in the bag. When picking up this prescription I have to open up the bag at the register to ensure the package is actually in there. Due to time and geographic constraints my husband and I were forced to use this CVS for our prescriptions. Thankfully a Walgreens has opened up a block away, which is now where we go. I won't even go to CVS for deodorant any more! read more

I called to check if they'd filled my Rx and was told that they were doing it right then and it would be ready in 15 mins. Nearly three hours later, I waited in line only to learn they haven't started ... told to wait 10 mins. Ten minutes later I'm told to wait 15 mins. I had 5 mins to pick up the Rx that I had confirmed would be ready and waiting. As a result of their failure to fill the Rx as promised, or even in a timely manner once I was there, I missed an appointment. I left my tel # for the manager to call me but s/he never called. With 5 people behind the pharmacy counter, seems they'd be more on top of things. Other people were being told their Rx wasn't ready either. I'd avoid this pharmacy if you have other options. read more

10 days out from having rotator cuff/biscep tenodesis surgery. Explained to my doctor before surgery that opioids (oxycodone) makes me sleepy but does little to relieve pain. Guess what prescription I have when I wake up? Yep! you are right, I have Oxycodone. Call Doctor's office after two days of dealing with it, given hydromorphone. Hey, what do I tell myself? Give it a few days maybe it needs time to get into my system. Works only when I am a sleep. Okay, look online and do some research. Wow, they are in the same family of drugs. My self talk: Darlene, give the doctor a break, he went to school for surgery not pharmacy. Call a pharmacist! CVS to the rescue! Here is the conversation: Me: Hi, I had shoulder surgery 10 days ago and was prescribed oxycodone, it was not effective for pain so I was given Hydromorphone and it works the same: it puts me to sleep but does nothing to resolve my pain. Would you recommend another drug I can suggest to my doctor? CVS Pharmacist: Yes, the are both opioids, the should work. Me: Sure, I know the should work, but I am sorry, the do not. Is it possible that not all people respond to opioids? CVS Pharmacist: Well, call your doctor. Me: I would like to but I do not know what to ask for? CVS Pharmacist: well, what do you want me to do? Me: (detecting irritation in his voice) I am sorry, may I speak with the pharmacist? CVS Pharmacist: I have been a pharmacist for 35 years, opioids should work! ... go hand peck a yelp comment, you will get a sense that you were heard somewhere; its therapeutic! read more

Do not expect service here. Go there if you need to get your prescribed medicine. This CVS location is close to my house and I use it for picking up my medicine when I go to doctor. Service is 3/10 and I am generous here. Do not buy over the counter medicine from here, CVS prices are outrageously expensive compare to any other store. For any over the counter medicine I walk to Giant food store to buy them. read more

The worst pharmacy EVER! wow.... what a waste of my time, hours! Last week I waited over an hour and repeated my information to the lady 20 times, she wrote my information on a little piece of paper, the pharmacist Mark wouldn't even talk to her either, I'm sure he is upset at the amount of unhappy customers there but this was my first time there! Terrible. Days before I went and no prescription, or is there but they can't find it, oh wait... is at the other CVS... I went to the other CVS... nope, go back to this one. I left without prescription and an empty promise. was there again yesterday, waited, no information, my prescription is being processed I'm told (remember I started this process last week?), waited some more, a different person comes to tell me they have to call my doctor because pharmacist Mark (I hope he is an actual pharmacist) does not feel comfortable filling my prescription that MY doctor prescribed! Who is the doctor here? they are all unhappy and want you to be just like them. Waited more, nothing... I'm told they will talk to doctor today. My doctor called me and said, wow.... not sure what's going on over there but we are going to call the prescription at Costco. Horrible customer service here. I asked about the stock of a particular over-the-counter and the pharmacist said he didn't know and I'd have to ask the manager--the manager?? Then the lady at the front desk got huffy when she heard my inquiry because she would "*sigh* have to go look". When determined the meds were definitely out of stock I asked if they knew when they'd be getting more and she insisted again they had none and walked away. The store was messy and cluttered. I usually don't write reviews but I just have to today. I have been waiting for a medicine that I usually take to come in stock for some time, today I decided to ask to get more information. Will at pharmacy went out of his way to help me. After he found out it was out of stock he called two other stores to see if they have it in stock. Apparently the other two stores didn't keep their inventory count current. Will then offered to take down my number to call me when the medicine comes in. This is a review of the MinuteClinic! My daughter was away at summer camp and came down with bronchitis during the last week. The camp staff took her to an urgent care clinic in PA, near the camp, where she was treated horribly - the doctor was condescending, implying that she wasn't really ill, even though she explained that a) she has a long personal medical of respiratory bugs that get out of control, b) she was about to go visit her elderly grandparents, one of whom had just had surgery, and c) she and her infant/toddler cousins who were also in VA, would all be flying home soon - so she really needed to get healthy soon. In additional to treating her horribly, this doctor also gave her prednisone, which is a pretty heavy-duty drug and not typically used for bronchitis! She chose not to take it after reading up on the side effects, and two days later, after she was getting worse - running a fever - her aunt picked her up from camp and took her to the Vienna, VA MinuteClinic where she was seen by Carolyn Penharlow. She was absolutely WONDERFUL! They arrived at the end of the day but she was seen promptly, given TLC (not rushed out the door so everyone could go home), and offered prescriptions that within 24 hours had her significantly better (zithromax and an albuterol inhaler)! It was such a fantastic experience and we are so grateful to MinuteClinic for their care! read more

Not really sure what this store does well. Most of my experience is with the pharmacy. In this regard - they are the worst. For ages they had two profiles for me. Every time I would fill a prescription - they would look me up and use the wrong profile telling me I didn't have any prescriptions ready for pick up. I'd show them the txt saying it was ready and a few minutes later after typing who knows what on their cash register - they would finally find it. This place is chronically under-staffed and it seems every encounter has some kind of static causing delays, snafu's, and just plain headache. Tried to find their FAX number today for my Dr to send a prescription as apparently the pharmacists is too busy to listen to voice mail and there is no listing for the FAX on the website, google maps, or if you call the store. You can wait 10 minutes to talk with the pharmacy and I suspect they could give it to you - just another waste of time dealing with this place. They also refuse to sync up monthly prescriptions so that I only have to stop once to pick up my 2 medications. I have to go twice a month because these prescriptions were not submitted at the exact same time. I'm going to try Stone Spring Pharmacy in Fairfax - cheaper and does home delivery. read more

I have been coming to this cvs since I was a small child and it was called "people's". Through all the years the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. They always greet me as I walk in and thank me as I leave. The employees always have smiles on their faces which puts me in a great mood when I walk in! At least once through my journey through the isles, someone always asks me if I'm finding everything alright, they're very attentive and aware of the needs of their customers. The pharmacy is always very helpful, I visit them often as of late. They always take such good care of me and are very friendly, especially carol. When I see her behind the counter I always smile because I know she'll be kind and answer all my questions. I haven't had the same experience at other CVSs in the past so I continue to remain loyal to this one as best I can! read more

I never ever write reviews but CVS pharmacy is not what it used to be. this location in particular is the WORSE I've experience. If you want to wait at least 15 minutes just to get through the line then go for it. But they consistently mess up my prescriptions every single month. Do yourself a favor and avoid this pharmacy, especially at peak hours. The techs at the dropoff window are consistently rude, treat most customers with no respect, and exert the minimum amount of effort to help customers. i was behind an eldery man who seemed to have alzeimers/dementia, and was appalled to hear how disrespectful and rude the tech was acting towards him. To be fair, I have dealt with one or two nice staff members, but it's rare. read more
