Staff was very friendly here, the aisles were a bit tight for two people to be walking through/shopping. Found the items I needed and found some clearance deals. They were clearing out and cleaning the drinks fridge which is good to know they do but apparently only once a year. Unfortunately parking is a little hard to find as it's street parking and I found a spot behind a building of a Chinese restaurant. read more

Alright, CVS to the rescue.... It does crack me up the differences between the west and east coast as far as those, "OMG...I need...." trips and where you stop. We have a lot more grocery stores which carry everything so just dropping into drug stores seems odd to me but that's what you do. I admit, I packed the night before....and didn't sleep because I was trying to get all of the things done...like you do right before you leave for vacation. So, after the epic work day right before the long commute to the airport and then the long ass flight...I land and my sister asks me point blank what I forgot so we can grab it at the store. Oh, nothing....not at all.... I take a nap and when I start getting ready I want to brush my hair with... with.... with.... crap.... customer service reps, particularly in the Pharmacy are rude and not helpful. Like everywhere else it appears they are very short staffed, but don't take it out on the customers. Parking in Winchester Center is a nightmare so I go to CVS up the street in Woburn for everything except my prescriptions. Telephone prompt system is a nightmare. I end up leaving a message about a prescription question and I NEVER receive a return call. I have to get in my car and drive down to speak with someone when I mention I have been waiting for a return call for a few days they just stare at me. read more

Dear CVS Winchester, Please take into account that some of your customers have things to do besides standing around waiting for whatever it is that you all do while you make our lives inconvenient. Example 1: This morning, I stood outside your store until 7:30, which was supposed to open at 7am. I decided to leave, although someone inside was trying to tell me through the doors that you would be opening "soon". When is "soon" when it is already 30 minutes past opening time???? Example 2: Last week, I dropped off a prescription on Saturday night and said I would pick it up Sunday morning. Upon arrival at the pharmacy around 4pm Sunday (hours after "Sunday morning") it had not even been filled, so I stood around for a good 15 minutes. Example 3: A few months back, I went to pick up a prescription and the woman asked me what my name was when she couldn't find it. Then she asked "are you sure?". AM I SURE???!!!! Um, it's my name, and I was born with it. Do I need to bring my passport and a variety of other ID's to pick up a prescription here? Seriously....... I am very disappointed by the atrocious behavior preformed by the staff of CVS. The employees spoke down to me and didn't acknowledge my self worth. They were rude, disrespectful, and had the audacity REGIVE me my own money because "I didn't hand it over right". The cashier walked me through how to wait which made me feel uncomfortable. I even got a call once to ask if I wanted to refill a prescription that was expiring. This CVS gets an extra star due to it's great staff, otherwise it deserves none . The only major drug store in town is lacking and it is a burden whenever we need to pay it a visit. Understaffed, no parking, no self checkout (although we're in an afluent area), good luck getting someone on the phone due to all that and you can wait upto 30 mins to get your meds even if you called in advance. Staff is always busy, struggling with poorly planned space, but staying very friendly. Might as well support the locally owned drug store across the street. CVS is generally a great eperience. It is a one stop shopping area, where you can develop film, find just about anything you need, and get your phramcy orders in and pick up medicine. The only drawback is lack of staff. Sometimes they don't have enough people up front at the registers and there can be a line during busy times of the day. But usually the line moves quick. Overall a great experience. TIP: Get a CVS customer care card for free to save money! read more

The worst CVS ever. The pharmacy doesn't answer the phone. Online orders don't get filled until you show up, and then you have to wait 20 mins. Their excuse is always that they are busy but the place is usually empty. At least answer the phone! People have prescriptions to call in! read more

I hear that a new drug store is opening at the site of the old Winchester Drug, and I am thrilled, as I am really fed up with the Winchester CVS. My husband went there today to fill a prescription and was told that our insurance would not cover it, but the woman who delivered that news would not tell him how much it would cost without the insurance because she said the line behind him was too long and she did not have the time. One day I asked if they could check to make sure that a new prescription was on auto-refill and the pharmacy clerk asked me if I wanted him to check "now." A few months ago a different clerk told me that my doctor had sent a 30-day prescription when it was supposed to be for 90 days, resulting in an embarrassing he-said-she-said between the doctor and me until I got a copy of the script proving the doctor was right and CVS was wrong. They also have an annoying way of losing prescriptions and then rolling their eyes to each other when you arrive to pick them up and ask where they are. There is no follow-up--they offer to call your doctor to obtain authorization for a refill, but if they receive no reply they neither follow up with the doctor nor call the patient to report their non-response, meaning that a patient makes a wasted trip to refill a prescription that is not there. I am very much looking forward to transferring my prescriptions to the new independent pharmacy. read more

I've been going to this store for 15 years. The staff up front is consistently good and helpful. The pharmacy is another story. My take is they are understaffed for the volume. This does not excuse shoddy service, however. Example today. Got a call o. Answerenig machine that my prescription was ready from automated service. Guy at pickup checked al three members of my house. None waiting. So since there was a line, he sent me to drop off window. Where the woman there spent another 5 minutes checking the same things. She then disputed whether I got a call, and what it said. Informed her this had happened several times. Her response was that these messages are generated by corporate and there's nothing she can do. No apology. No sorry for your wasted 30 minutes. No offer to follow up. Just "it wasn't me; not my job". Whether it is or not, she is a representatives of the corporation, and should minimally offer apologies. Pretty typical experience. read more
