A nice hostel in a good location near the main nightlife and shopping street in Lodz.
I had a single room with ensuite bathroom, and it came also with a table and chair. Overall, a nice set-up. My major complaint was that the fixture that holds the shower head in place was broken, so the shower head (which is one of those on a long flexible metal tube) kept falling off unless you ever-so-delicately placed it in the holder fixture. It fell down at least 2-3 times per showering session. Hot water was good and pressure was good. Towels provided for free. I wish there were hooks in the bathroom though. There was no place to hang the towel, or a toiletries bag, etc. Also no counter top to place anything.
The bed was okay; nothing fancy, but it's a hostel, so it met expectations.
I know there's not much the hostel can do about this, but there are no stairs, and there are four levels above the ground floor.
The front desk staff was friendly and seemed to know what they were doing.
The wifi was awful much of time, and sort of usable at other times. At times, I had issues even connecting to the routers.
There's a free breakfast in the morning with your standard European hostel breakfast of bread, cold slices of meat, 2-3 types of sliced cheese, and some vegetables. There's only one type of tea. There is a spacious kitchen area and a separate common room with a lot of tables and chairs.
Bathrooms: Some issues as described above, but generally clean and somewhat functional. read more
