My first impression of this is school was based off the staff. They were not only professional but very nice and willing to help. Thank you Ladies! After only a few weeks the school pick up and drop off is well organized, the curriculum seems to challenge the kids which is great and the teachers that I have encountered are very committed to the students. Excellent school and I am very happy I that I'm in this school district. I would also like to add that the little programs, fundraisers and especially the Veterans Day program are top notch. read more

So at the time this was my letter that I wrote to my daughter and the class of 2020 and I would like to share it: My beautiful daughter was suppose to walk the stage today May 4th 2020, unfortunately along with prom, senior trips and other milestone celebrations, graduation was canceled. It's a bittersweet ending for the Graduation Class of 2020. It's devastating actually, these rites of passage are never going to happen for them. For a teenager, next to getting their drivers license, going to prom, senior trips, and graduation are big events they have been looking forward too their whole life. I simply cannot imagine the hurt and frustration this Class is possibly going through. Let's face it, getting your diploma in the mail just isn't the same. And although many lives have been more impacted by Stay-at-home orders, let's make no mistake about it--this loss is legitimate. My heart cries for you, and I want you to know that this cold unceremonious end to what you were surely counting on being the most fun-filled days of your life is not your fault. Nothing can change with what has been done. But some how, some way, you will get through this. You are the Class that will be the most strongest and the most resilient. Class of 2020, you have my heart and my prayers, and I know there is nothing you can't accomplish. Keep fighting the good fight, stay hopeful and--most importantly--wash your hands.

It was the best decision of my life and only wish it was an option for my 2 older children when they were going through. It is a cute little neighborhood preschool. It offers such a personable feeling. Rebecca and all her teachers feel like family to me and my family. My daughter is excited to go to school and excited to come home and tell me all about her day and what she did. I am truly grateful for her being able to go here. They offer a Christian learning environment at Little Camellia Schoolhouse with lots of hands on activities for the kids to be engaged. If I could keep my child here until college I would;)

It is always beautifully decorated which makes it feel very cheerful and inviting! I have been to many other preschool centers and they always seem uninviting and cold (that is not the case at Little Camellia). The ladies that work there are some of the loveliest people I have ever meet. You can tell they love what they're doing and they love the children. It has 6 classrooms and a very nice playground with slides, swings, riding toys, sand table and a lot more. The classrooms have cubbies for every child, group tables, and different educational centers set up. When we arrive we are always greeted by someone and have to check in and out. I have walked into other preschools where no one has ever stop or questioned me (that did not feel safe). When I've come at naptime there are always teachers in the classrooms watching the children and working on lesson plans. The Little Camellia Schoolhouse is a PRESCHOOL that focuses on learning! They have daily BIBLE, MATH, READING, and SCIENCE lessons. I love The Little Camellia Schoolhouse because it is NOT a daycare where I drop my kids off and they do nothing all day and all the workers do is feed them meals and let them run around, and unlike most centers I get to provide my children with a healthy lunch with things I know they like to eat, instead of them eating whatever is served that day (or not eating because they are a little picky). The tuition is very reasonable compared to the other centers in this area. Having had different experiences with other preschool centers in the Slidell area I wouldn't send my children anywhere else!

Bonne Ecole Elementary School is a fantastic little school in my neighborhood. My six year old attends school here. The parental involvement is very high, which is crucial to the success of almost every aspect of the school and the student as well. The teachers here are all very caring and serious about their jobs. Our test scores are consistently high and way above state averages. The same receptionists have been here for at least 15 years and are so sweet and they love the children that attend the school like their own. Heck, even the custodians are friendly and always have a smile on their faces. I am so lucky that I get to send my child to this school. I really do love it. An interesting fact about the name...when the school was finished being built a contest was held where the students submitted a name for the school. A fourth grader won for his submission of Bonne Ecole which is translated from French for "good school".

This is a wonderful school, i had a great expirence, nice staff and kids. Would total recomend.read more

We attended the open house back in July and was given a tour and was provided an explanation of the activities (both tap and ballet will be practiced) in the class, as well as the events for the year. The studio is extremely clean, well lit and the staff are super nice. My little girl enjoys her classes, which is relatively well priced per month for the lessons. I do find that the products are on the pricier end, since all dancers must wear branded items, but it makes since for a unison front. They also have an annual recital and that comes at a price as well. Things do add up from all the wardrobe, photos, and recital.

Time to update the review, since it has been 3 years. My little one is now a dance pro (well, maybe…read morenot, but she loves going to dance each week). The staff is always helpful and friendly. They recently merged the 2 former studios into one massive, awesome studio at the corner of Manahattan and Lapalco. Next to PJs, which will become a weekly habit now. The new space has 2 dance rooms, 2 music rooms, and a huge parent seating area. All in all, a great place for kids dance (and music) lessons on the Westbank!

When our family had Covid, our daughter was still able to attend her lessons virtually. They have also offered both virtual and on-site recitals for the students to showcase what they have learned. We really loved the on-site recital as well as the adjustments made to ensure Covid regulations were followed. We drive from Slidell weekly for our daughter to attend her lessons and feel it is well worth it.
