Then I responded, "what is a good deal?" He did not respond back!! I left that dealership with a bad after taste. How can you make a customer wait that long? While the car was being serviced, we used the time (just short of an hour) to have a 'picnic' in one of the waiting areas - enjoying their self-serve coffee, plus a snack the daughter had made to take along. It was early in the day, with no sales activity on-the-go, so we were able to sit-and-wait in an area within the sales showroom, as opposed to the smaller area just directly outside the service area. Staff were very friendly - a little curious as to where we were headed, and eager to please and accommodate. The daughter purchased her vehicle -- a smaller-size, Eco-Drive, SUV-style vehicle -- there a few years ago, and has used their service department exclusively. She has nothing but good things to say about the vehicle, and the quality service received. For her Mom and I, just a first stop by, but an opportunity to see / feel a touch of what she had always told us of her experiences there.

Over a six-month period, West Coast Kia generated eight repair orders for the same vibration/humming concern and repeatedly told me the vehicle was "fixed" or "complete." During that time they replaced multiple major drivetrain components (traction motors and gear reduction units). I was still experiencing the same vibration after the final pickup on January 27, even though the work order stated everything was resolved. Because of that, I took the vehicle to Applewood Kia (out of pocket). Applewood diagnosed the real cause as a right front wheel bearing -- roughly a $400 repair -- and once replaced, the vibration/humming disappeared. Problem solved immediately. I also want to note that Service Advisor Isaac Grieve told me Kia had spent over $40,000 in parts during the West Coast Kia process. If that's accurate, it makes the outcome even more concerning given what ultimately fixed the vehicle. My biggest issue wasn't just the misdiagnosis -- it was the lack of documentation and transparency. I repeatedly asked that my continuing symptoms and correct mileage be accurately recorded on the repair paperwork, and that did not happen. Yes, I became frustrated after being sent away multiple times with the car still vibrating, but I did not threaten anyone -- I was simply trying to get an unresolved safety/driveability issue properly acknowledged and repaired. I strongly recommend Applewood Kia if you want accurate diagnosis and results. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend West Coast Kia.

After that visit, I went to West Coast Toyota two times and received outstanding service from them. On January 9, 2026, I visited West Coast Toyota to replace the intake camshaft timing gear assembly on my 2013 Toyota Venza AWD (2.7LT). The repair was done well, and I'm satisfied with that work. To perform the job, technicians removed the ignition coils, breaking 2 out of 4 black clips (photos attached). They sealed the ignition coil clips with melted plastic but didn't inform me. I discovered this at home after pickup and left a voicemail for an explanation. Mehdi called back, saying the technician was off until Monday. On January 12, 2026, they'd follow up. Receiving no call by 10:30 AM (service opens at 8:30 AM), I went in person. Another advisor directed me to wait for Mehdi. Mehdi consulted the technician and explained the clips are fragile due to the car's age, and the seal is an improvement. I disagreed, noting many older cars have intact clips. I mentioned my plan to replace spark plugs at home, now impossible due to the seals, forcing me to use the dealership for this easy work. I requested a discount for their spark plug service; Mehdi refused. I pointed out the lack of notification or invoice note. He said he wasn't present at pickup, so he does not know anything. He suggested speaking to the service manager, but the manager was absent that day. There was no admission of fault, which I found unprofessional for a reputable Toyota dealership. Mistakes happen, but customers should be notified to avoid surprises and build trust. Otherwise, it raises concerns about other undisclosed issues. With no choice, I booked a spark plug replacement appointment without any discount. By the way, I'm happy to service there but disappointed by the careless handling--perhaps due to the car's age or for not purchasing the car from them. Service departments drive significant business, so customers deserve better. I anticipate a generic response asking for details; I'll email them. I knew I wanted a RAV4 but for the longest time, I couldn't find any that checked all of my boxes. That was until I found a 2016 model from A2Z Auto that did just that. With low mileage, all the perks of a limited edition model and a fun colour to boot, I was set. I drive 80km a day for work, and so I had to choose a reliable and safe car. Mattie was very transparent with the car history and even offered a free tune up. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a gem of a car. I could not be happier with my new ride!
