    Co Co bahn mi

The Banh Mi was surprisingly good! There were plenty of veggies (personal preference) and the bun was toasted just the right amount. I like this place, and I would come back if I'm really, really craving a Banh Mi (only because the price is a bit steep here and I'm too cheap). Pro-tip: The Yelp check-in offer is no longer valid, but they gave me 10% off for the miscommunication on their end.

Vietnamese restaurant with delicious bánh mì. The interior is luminous and really cosy. Moreover, the service is fast and the food is very nourishing and of quality, for a very reasonable price.

I would call myself a banh mi fanatic. It is one of my favorite sandwiches and I used to indulge quite frequently when I lived in the USA in an area with a high concentration of Vietnamese communities. This wasn't the best banh mi I've ever had but it was quite tasty and the prices weren't bad. I had the chicken banh mi and my husband ordered the special. We got our sandwiches quickly and enjoyed watching the friendly man behind the counter assemble them. They do Germanize the sandwiches a bit by adding things like tomato and onion but all of the banh mi essentials like pickled veggies & cilantro were there. I was really missing slices of fresh jalapeño though! But I suppose that's what I get for moving to Germany. The sandwiches were pretty large and had a lot of meat. I'm not sure if the baguettes were homemade? I would guess not; from what I've read it is fairly difficult and time consuming to make the baguettes properly. We also both ordered glasses of hot Vietnamese coffee - the perfect companion to any banh mi sandwich, in my opinion. The coffee was fine but I was a little disappointed that it wasn't served with the filter on top of the glass. There's just something special about watching the coffee drip and waiting until it finishes to enjoy your delicious drink! Overall, I had a lovely meal that satisfied my banh mi craving. I will definitely be going back! P.S. I accidentally left my cell phone on the picnic table and one of the women from the shop ran after us to return it to me - I was beyond thankful!! For that reason alone I feel like I owe them many return trips. :)

Excellent viet coffee. Strong with a lot of condensed milk.

One of the most stylish and inviting banh mi shops I've ever visited anywhere. Lots of counter height seating; filled with fresh flowers, cute little potted plants; attractively displayed jars of pickled veggies and baskets of fresh fruit. It is a visually beautiful place. What I think is very good here: the vietnamese coffee is brewed strong and with a generous amount of condensed milk. Just the way I like it and presented prettily with a clear glass and wooden saucer. Although I think a bit pricey for Berlin at 2.70 EU for a very small cup. Still worth it in my opinion. If you don't like sweet coffee, you might still like this because it's not the same taste as just sugared up coffee. The banh mi itself was a tad disappointing for me. Here's why: the bread doesn't have enough crust, the use of tomato as a garnish really watered down the taste of the pickled vegetables (which is one of my favourite flavours in banh mi!), and the fresh green chillies were missing. It's still a very tasty sandwich and I would eat here again. But I recommend asking them to hold the tomato and only use pickled veg in the sandwich.

Probably the best bahn mi around but lacking in some areas. I had the coco bahn mi, which was pretty good. It had fresh veggies and good meat but it didn't have enough sauce so it felt slightly dry. They also didn't have sauce around to put on the sandwiches separately. My friend ordered the lemongrass meatball sandwich and some of the meatballs were undercooked!!! AND her bread was burnt!!! She saw them scraping off the burnt part on other rolls of bread. Two of my friends ordered the ginger ale which was kind of wack. It was just carbonated sugar water with some raw ginger slices in there. Once again, I'll make that for you. Skip it here. All in all, I'll go back when I'm craving bahn mi but I think I've had better!

Great quick meal with friends! Got the lemongrass meatball sandwich per the host's recommendation and it was delicious!

A solid sandwich and a good deal compared to restaurants around it. The baguette was spot on but the pate was sweet and it was topping heavy (carrots, large chunks of tomato and a big ole wedge of cucumber), which squashed the other flavors.

The customer service here is amazing and the decor is super cute. The food is also very delicious and authentic - I can vouch for this because I am Vietnamese. I tried the beef with egg Banh Mi, as well as the banh xeo. Both were delicious!

They serve many options for Bánh mi! Except salad and Bánh mi, they also have some Vietnamese dessert, which is also good!

Chay Viet is one of the best Viet places I've ever been to. Better than any Viet restaurant in America in California or Florida, trust me on this one. They have a very wide selection of different dishes, some that will surprise you. The interesting thing is that everything on the menu is vegetarian. If you're someone who fears the veggie, don't fret. Out of the dishes I tried, everything is completely edible, very wholesome, and delicious! They create the perfect harmony between making their food rich in flavor, but light enough where it still doesn't overpower you. Everything also comes in a pretty large portion too. I would suggest getting the Mi Quang - my favorite hands down. I would HIGHLY recommend stopping by here if you're in Berlin!

The reviews were more than positive so I went and sat down and looked at the menu. That's when I noticed it was a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant. I was fixated on chicken pho and was about to leave, when I thought the best of it and decided to stay and try it out. I ordered the Mi Quang, a spicy soup with mushrooms and tofu, and lo and behold, if it wasn't one of the best soups I've ever tasted! I was so happy that I decided to be adventurous! I was a little less adventurous the rest of the week, as I ordered the same soup three additional times as I couldn't get enough of it! Run - don't walk - to get the Mi Quang!

I read that it is a long wait to get in but I was able to walk right in and sit at the bar. My server was so happy and laughing she made things so comfortable. She put up with my poor Vietnamese language efforts especially since I am better in Tien Viet than in German. I ordered chicken pho and a beer. She laughed so hard when I ordered tiger beer and I'm still wondering why. Possibly because Germany is famous for good beer but I ordered the popular Asian brew. The Hanoi pho came out in seconds not minutes and the broth was amazing. I detected some lemongrass in it. There was not a pile of leaves to add to it as everything it needed to taste good was already there. The interior decoration was very nice and classy. I hope to return.

Broth nice clean and clear of grease. Generous amount of noodles. I had the pho tai but I think my meat was a bit too thick and cooked. It didn't taste like the usual thin rare slices. It came with bean sprouts (we had to ask for more; they give little compared to the US), basil, sliced chili peppers, and limes. Perfect. I enjoyed it so much that I didn't even add sriracha. So when I landed in the heart of Berlin (in Mitte), my first stop in Western Europe, I made a B-line without hesitation. The highlight here for me was the raw egg served in a separate bowl with broth. The egg poaches itself in the hot broth. And it's so good!! I haven't had this since I was in Hanoi all the time, and where it's commonplace. The pho bowls (triple beef combo & chicken pho) were just okay. Broth came out piping hot, but also heavy on the MSG. I swear I was drinking water non-stop all night. Also, they really skimp on the noodles. I mean, dry rice noodles are very inexpensive (fresh noodles aren't available here), and most places load up on the noodles. The deep fried breadsticks came out cold and somewhat hardened. We were there for dinner and I'm guessing they were fried much earlier in the day. Disappointing that they weren't even barely warm. Service was friendly, and apparently a popular spot in Mitte. I'm not well versed on pho in Berlin, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here. There are actually quite a lot of pho spots in Berlin, which I subsequently tried and enjoyed more.
