She organized all of my insurance coverage, even calling them to get more information. I thought I had just got her on a good day. Nope! When I went in for my appt she was there and was just as awesome as well as all the wonderful ladies behind the desk. Not to mention they have the newest and coolest massage chair I've ever been in! So that gives them a 5 start just for that! Once all the insurance was cleared up and I went in for my appt it continued to be extremely enjoyable and fun. After several quick and pain-free session I gotta hand it to Dr. Amr for an amazing Practice. Ok, First things first, he's got massaging and heated dental chiars ( I honestly didn't even think that was a thing), the most modern and top of the line equipment, a kid friendly waiting area set up with iPads, and he's a specialist in pain-free dental care. Today's experience was amazing, staff recognized me by name, and everything was super quick. I needed to get a new night guard for my teeth, and the standard practice is to take a concrete mold and then make the night guard from there. The process they use is they take a digital image of your teeth, then 3D Print that image, then create the guard from that print. As far as I know, this is the first Dental practice in Alberta to have such a process. I can't talk highly enough about the guy. Good, honest, and does the work needed.

So I found this to be very uncharacteristic and hypocritical his empathic patient - based system of care! When I had relayed this to other dental clinics, they could not understand his reasoning. He didn't provide me written estimates through the treatment plans or Quotes under ABC guidelines that should be generated over $800. This way, he provides confusing estimates and treatments without obtaining patient consent. For example, he quoted me $400 per extraction and then $$1849 for 3. When I questioned the math, he delayed treatment until I sought out another dentist, who actually provided better treatment than Kucey dental group. Once, he provided a consult that indicated he was going to provide three extractions and implants he never did complete this but sent me on a winding treatment process with his wife to provide general dentistry fixes that I could have obtained elsewhere for cheaper. His wife had notified me the day prior to her fixes to ask if I wanted a hygienist appointment. I refused and stated that I had one two months prior. She then completed the fixes, left the room and had the hygienist come in to do it anyway. As they didn't obtain adequate patient consent, forced me to do it anyway, and charged an exorbitant rate - when they had actually told me I was actually there for the three extractions on my right side, I reflected that I couldn't proceed with the treatment I felt was more needed. Dr Brian ended up intervening and stating that he would complete one of them and he actually extracted one tooth on my left side that he hadn't even explained needed extraction. When I asked him to submit a treatment plan quote through the ethical / standard Alberta Blue Cross billing process, he then denied treatment for over three months. I then found another dentist whose skills are far superior than Dr Kucey. I note on Dr Kucey's reviews that he often provides only verbal quotes and then charges exorbitant fees that are well over triple what he originally quoted. He originally quoted my extractions at $400 per tooth. When I questioned the $2200 math, he refused. He performed excessive dental work that wasn't necessary and I switched dentists to obtain the extractions, implants and crowns I needed. He stated that the implants would be around $4000 and crowns would be $2000. I obtained my 3 extractions for under $600, 3 implants for $6000, and crowns for under 4500 from elsewhere when it would have cost me over $30000 from Kucey dental group. For quality extractions, implants and crowns - I recommend that all patients don't see Kucey Dental Group whatsoever. I recommend Dr Mike Mah at Passion Dental Group Calgary, Parkland Mall Dental Red Deer, Blackfalds Dental, Aspen Dental Rocky Mountain House. Dr Mike Mah's skill far surpasses that of Brian Kucey. Dr Mike Mah even completed my sinus lifts with a significant level of skill. He explains the process well and even diagnosed the reason for my reoccurring infections that caused my need for the implants in the first place. This way, my mouth is far better off. As Dr Kucey broke the HIA legislation by refusing to transfer the X-rays and personal health information that I am entitled to transmit to another dentist ( and that all other dentists transfer immediately- with a patient signed document), Dr Mah even completed two CT Scans free of charge. Dr Mah had the ethical integrity to decide that I was financially abused my Dr Kucey's lack of CDSA standards and failure to meet the legislation guidelines of the health information act in Alberta. Kucey Dentwl Group FAIL at providing dentistry in accordance with CDSA Patient Care Standards and also avoid compliance with health law. Another dentist I had told me in 5 yrs I will need dentures ( I still have all my teeth ). So when I went to this office, I was apprehensive. Long story short... she saved the tooth. Since then she is the only dentist I would ever trust to work on my mouth. Her staff are amazing and take great care with their patients. Her practice has expanded quite a bit but the service is still the same. they tell you straight out and do not recommend any work that does not need to be done. If I could recommend a dentist, it is this practice. And that my friends is the tooth and nothing but the tooth !

Had three bad experiences…read more First. Had a regular check up and cleaning done, everything went well. After we were done I was put into a side room full of merchandise and was trying to be talked into buying a very expensive electric toothbrush. I kept saying I would think about it, after about 5-10 mins trying to push this product in me they finally stopped and took me to pay my bill. Second time I needed a retainer replaced for my front bottom teeth. Thought everything went well till a couple of hours later I started getting a very bad headache. Thought nothing of it. After a couple of day I went back to get the retainer readjusted. Took two separate visits till it was done right, instantly the headaches went away. About a month later the retainer broke off of my tooth and cut my tongue, so I took it out myself and threw it away. My third visit was for a cleaning and check up. All went well till the billing. They put I through and as I was about to leave I checked to see what they charged me for. Two procedures on the bill they didn't do, X-rays and fluoride. I brought this to their attention and I was told, "we'll get you next time". I believe that is insurance fraud, but what ever. Let's just say I found a new dentist in the area. Super happy now.

I would definitely recommend both of them. I have a very low tolerance to tooth pain, which makes me very anxious going to the dentist. They assured me that it will be painless (which it was) and explained to me everything that I need to know. I needed to find a dentist I was comfortable with; my kids were comfortable with and that I didn't feel like I was being ripped of by seeing as there are no dental fee guidelines in Alberta yet (they are working on it). I have definitely found that here at the Heritage Dental Centre. They treated us well and I felt welcomed which is what I was looking for in a dental office - not just a patient; not just a number but someone they cared about after all they are looking after my health and well being. The hygienist took care of us and the dentist made sound suggestions for care - whether that was a filling for one child or waiting to see what happens with the other. My middle one needed wisdom teeth removed and he suggested a place to go and I had no hesitation about taking his suggestion has I was happy with his work. I will be coming back here for sure. Plenty of free parking but it was also close to the LRT for my oldest who needed to meet us here after university. Plus they took care of insurance and are open late for even more convenience. Really, what more can I - or anyone else, ask for?

Well for one thing it has plenty of toys to distract your kids, a wide open area, and video games area for them as well. What the heck? Even in my days I didn't have that kind of luxury. The only thing I was looking forward to was taking a toy home after my teeth got done. Which they kept all the toys in a box and you could select one or in my case a few more, ahaha. Anyways, back to the point, children seem to feel happy here. Not much whining or crying and staff seems to be kid friendly for the children. If it's he first time for your kid to get teeth done, then obviously expect crying while you sit with them. Waiting area is quite comfy, tv plays cartoons for kids. It's like a playpen for the little ones. Parking here is moderately big, other stores next to it. Recommended for children to have their teeth cleaned, and to distract them.
