This is really the first stop in "civilization", as you come out of the bucolic scenery. It's right across from a huge grain elevator, so you know when you're there. Aside from gassing up, you can go in and get some serious drink on. I especially like to stop here on my way back home because we're generally doing that after dark and I need me some coffee. You can get a big ole cup and dress it up the way you like. Love the mooing cream dispenser. You can also get slushies, fountain soft drinks and a myriad of things in bottles and cans. There is a Subway inside for your sandwich needs and the counter up front has some hot food items as well. There is a convenience store too, in case you need some deviled ham or cat food. The bathrooms are large and relatively clean. They also have a car wash so you can get the love bugs off your vehicle. I recommend this as your stop on the HWY 90 haul any time.

Staff is very rude. It's not just 1 staff member it's all of them. Awful customer service.read more

I do not live in Beaumont but now have family and friends in the area. When I am in the area we do a lot of back and forth traveling from Beaumont to other small towns in south east Texas, so I use a lot of gas. I did notice that the gas prices at Dan's were probably one of the cheapest in the area. The store was a bit older as many things in the area, but it also looked well taken care of. I will definitely continue to stop here when I am in town!

He is notorious for locking the doors at 11 pm while he is in there vacuuming. He acknowledges you, then still makes you wait until he's done. Tonight I was there at 9:46 wanting to buy a Pick 3 lottery ticket. He refused to sell it claiming it was too late. This guy puts himself first and the customer. From now on its Exxon or Texaco for me. I encourage others to do the same.

I had half a tank and at the price listed it should have been about $20 to fill. I set the pump and waited in my car. When it clicked off the pump It had pumped almost 10 gallons and charged $34. I had this happen one time before in January 2025 at a gas station in Pennsylvania. That time I had three-fourth's of a tank and was charged the cost of a full tank. I suspect some glitch in the flow‑metering and control system function that registers more fuel dispensed than the actual amount.

I stop on my way to work each night and they almost always have my favorite dark roast coffee ready to be poured into my cup. They even have two flavored creamers there in addition to sugar and powdered creamer. I like to doctor mine up with some French Vanilla and a little hazelnut. Of course, they have other covienience store items such as cold drinks; fountain and bottled. There is a selection of small pharmaceuticals, energy drinks and shots, hygiene items, candy, gum, chips, ice, automotive care, and other items. The price of gas is not the cheapest for the Beaumont area, but is not overtly expensive either; about average price. The store seems to be clean and orderly everytime I go in. I have not tried the restrooms, so I can't comment on that. If you live close by, it is a great place to stop for a few quick items. Speaking of which, perhaps I should make a beer run. I have worked up a thirst!

This calls for a celebration: instead of me going to the Donut Palace in Pine Forest like usual, I started going to Happy Donuts. Porsche C will be happy to know that I went there immediately after my workout at Anytime Fitness, which is a few steps away. Happy Donuts is in a prime location on Main Street, a short drive north of I-10. Walk-in or drive-through, and they have a few tables to sit at while eating. Also breakfast sandwiches and drinks. Their offerings are pretty good. But I find them to be so sweet that they take away from the enjoyment of good health food. As I type this, I'm eating an apple fritter, and it's thin with only some apple taste. If that turns you on, then more power to ya, but Donut Palace has bigger, tastier cinnamon rolls and apple fritters. I haven't tried the old fashioned yet, the Hunny is into those but I'm not (strange that SHE hasn't walked over to Happy Donuts after her workout). To sum it up, if being on a sugar high makes you happy, then slide on over to Happy Donuts.
