One odd thing is, when I scheduled, they asked if the would be seeing both my husband and I or just me; I find this a strange question as what if I wasn't married? It is awfully assumptive to think I had to have a husband, but I digress. Noah was scheduled to perform the inspection. He was running a bit late and called about 5 minutes after our scheduled time letting me know he ran into some traffic and would be about another 5 minutes or so. He showed up 20 minutes later and it was the oddest thing, he parked in my driveway. When he came up to the door he asked if it was okay and I said okay, but honestly, I found it really strange and just didn't want to prolong the appointment. Upon inspection, he seemed very knowledgeable and personable and did a pretty thorough inspection taking pictures and videos of the roof and surrounding areas. As mentioned, I am the type to obtain multiple quotes, so I expected that after he did the inspection, we would go over his findings and a few days later I would receive a quote. After he did the inspection, he showed me a video of something the other roofers didn't, which was nice as I like a thorough job, but then said he would be in touch with a quote. I received a phone call a few days later asking to discuss findings, but when I called back, I got an AI bot which was then followed up by a call back from a real person. Oddly enough, when they called, they literally said nothing. They asked if it was a good time to talk and I said yes but they wanted to talk when "my husband was around." Even though I said it was a good time, they said they would call back. I followed up via Yelp message. It has been over a week and I have yet to receive any quote from them. Needless to say, I won't be going with this company. They aren't willing to work with just a woman and are unresponsive.

As you do get some light dust/debris coming thru since no attic space in these areas. The job went right on schedule and Art coordinated with Culver City building department for permit and approvals. My roof had a fair amount of angles and valleys and Art pointed out he could make them more effective at draining water properly. I chose to go with the visible valleys as I liked the idea of seeing them and all the things he got were pre painted and matched really well. Communication was very good with him. His job foreman spoke English which was important as things do come up as the work progresses but all handled really well. It all went very smoothly and you could tell the team are experts at roofing. I decided to replace my gutters as well and the price seemed reasonable for that too. They did a great job on it all and it looks fantastic and now I wait for the big super El Niño coming this winter with a lot more confidence that I will weather the storms. Art said he would come back quickly if any issues and I believe that would be true. A new roof is a huge amount of money and there are sooo many places to choose from. I had a generally positive experience working with Vlad and his company. Vlad was very responsive,…read morecommunicated clearly throughout the project, and stuck closely to the agreed scope of work. My main concern was that the work became rushed toward the end. The biggest issue was with the polyaspartic garage floor coating. Properly stripping and sanding the broadcast flakes is one of the most important steps, and unfortunately it wasn't done thoroughly. There were multiple sections inside the garage where flakes were left protruding enough to catch on a mop, and the outside concrete slab extension was never properly sanded along the edge before the final coat, leaving a rough, unfinished appearance. I ended up spending a couple of days sanding those areas and applying another top coat myself. That same attention to detail was missing during the smart lock installation. The installer was clearly rushing, dismissed my suggestion to check the manufacturer's instructions, and insisted he knew what he was doing. The lock initially failed its self-test, and although he made a few adjustments, I could tell he was still rushing through it. Frustrated, I told him to leave it and that I would finish it myself. After they left, I discovered the lock wasn't working properly at all. I ended up removing it completely and reinstalling it over the weekend, following the manufacturer's instructions, modifying the door so the deadbolt could fully extend without friction, installing the correct strike plate, and getting everything working as intended. To Vlad's credit, he offered to come back and reinstall the smart lock properly and to inspect the garage floor after I raised my concerns, which I appreciated. That's why this is still a 4-star review instead of a lower rating. Overall, I would work with Vlad again because of his communication, responsiveness, and willingness to stand behind the job. That said, next time I would make sure every agreed detail is documented in writing, and I would not make the final payment until the garage floor had fully cured and I had the opportunity to do a complete walkthrough with Vlad. Since you can't walk on a freshly applied polyaspartic top coat, the floor couldn't be properly inspected until after it had cured, and by then the issues with the finish had become apparent.

You may see quotes in a tight range. In the end, it's the contractor who differentiates a proposal. Lior completed our roof project today--our first experience with United and Lior. On time and on budget. With the final inspection behind us, I would welcome the chance to work with Lior again. Lior's quote wasn't the cheapest by a small margin. Examining the fine print, however, we found that the slightly cheaper proposal capped the amount of free plywood used for a flat roof repair. Lior clarified that there was no plywood limit in his proposal, one of the factors that won the day. In the end, I was more comfortable with the contractor taking the materials risk than potentially being stuck with an overage: worth a small delta in pricing. Lior is transparent and honorable. We had a minor mishap during the period of performance...no injuries, but a bit of property damage. It was reasonable to determine that it was a shared responsibility incident. We had a dispassionate discussion with Lior and quickly found a satisfactory solution without involving the courts or insurance companies. So...add 'reasonable' to Lior's character traits. Our new roof looks terrific. Lior didn't cut any corners. If you consider United for your project, you will not be disappointed!
