Beware, money is a priority over your dog's safety Luna was an ongoing daycare attendee at D is for Doggy E 84th until she was attacked by another dog at daycare. It was the second time that this dog has been aggressive towards my dog, and after asking they be in separate rooms, they let the dog back in who went straight over and attacked my dog. They never checked my dog to assess injury and when I took her home she was bleeding and has a tear in her ear. Also never followed up to ask how she was doing. They admitted this dog has been aggressive towards other dogs on several occasions, but continue to keep the dog there! Additionally, the handlers are constantly on their phone texting and not watching the dogs. VERY disappointed, we were loyal customers and loved D is for Doggy. But safety needs to be #1! read more

My dog was traumatized after spending time here. At the time, they didn't separate the small from large dogs. Every time I looked at the camera the worker was shoving/ pushing my dog off of her (I assume he was scared and wanted to be picked up). My dog became depressed and somber. Thankfully, once I stopped taking him, he regained his happy, playful temperament. In addition, I now know of at least 2 dogs that have "escaped" while under their care. Don't do it. The 84th st location is just as awesome... we love it - clean, spacious, and webcams so you can check in on your dog throughout the day. If there are lots of pups, they can separate them into areas for big pups and little guys. There are beds and a very popular plastic stairway (J is a big fan of this). Everyone who works here is super nice and accommodating. I cannot say enough good things about D is for Doggy! Being a helicopter parent to my sweet fur baby I am VERY particular with her, to say the least. When I had heard positive reviews about D is for Doggy through her furiend's parents in our building I figured I would stop by and see for myself. First off, the facilities are extremely clean. I notice there's always a mid-day cleaning of the floors and beds and when there are accidents they're cleaned up rapidly. Second, I love the fact that there's a human in the room with the pups all day, keeping an eye and making sure they're all safe - that goes a long way. Third, the fact that you can watch the dogs on the Nest cam makes me feel even more comfortable as I can see first hand what's going on at any time of the day. If you need your dog to be fed during their stay, they'll set time aside for your pup to eat. If they need any relief walks, you just need to alert the staff and they'll make sure your pup gets outside. I also love checking my personal email during the day and seeing a picture of my pup playing around with her furiends, it just melts my heart! When my dog realizes it's daycare day as we leave our building in the morning, she RUNS in the direction of the facilities and whimpers at the door to get inside, which says so much in itself. And when I pick her up at the end of the day she is EXHAUSTED from playing all day long. The staff is incredibly friendly and great to work with; I trust my pup is in good hands with their diligence in updated vaccination records. D is for Doggy is THE BEST!! Not only do the people who work there seem to really care about and love the dogs, it's great that they also have live webcam so you can check in to see what your dog is up to at any given time (from 9am-6pm). We use them for doggy daycare and for boarding on a pretty regular basis and our puppy has the time of his life! The open sleeping plan is great as well since our puppy has separation anxiety and does not do well if left in a crate. We live closest to the 84th st. location, but it's also really nice that the 94th st. location is open as well - especially since 84th isn't currently open for boarding (but they DO let you drop off at that location and they'll transport your pup to the other location for you)! If we pass D is for Doggy on a walk my puppy always tries to stop and go in as he has the best time there! The space is large and gives plenty of room for the dogs to run around, there are dog beds and some play structures for them, and it's kept very clean. Dogs of all sizes/ages are kept together which some might not like, but I really do since it teaches my puppy to play appropriately with all dogs. And the staff keeps a great eye on them so it's not really anything to worry about anyway. Long story short it's great, and one of the better priced options around as well. read more

They do not have enough dogs to separate by size yet. They require you to notify them if you like your dog walked, which I initially didn't realize. They don't have toys or play with the dogs, but they do have free webcams and do have a team member in the room all day quickly cleaning up after the dogs. My dog came home stressed and with loads of energy. At our normal daycare, she plays all day and comes home exhausted. The owner was very responsive to my concerns and did offer us the option to take my dog to their other location which separates by size and explained that in a month or so as their popularity grows they will separate at this location as well. The facilities are very clean and the staff is extremely thoughtful. They were aware that our dog is more sensitive to loud noises, so they paid special attention to him during a fire alarm test to make sure he wasn't startled. We switched from a different place because I've heard that pups may be better cared for here. Wrong. I guess they just don't care about the cameras (because most people don't have a choice anyway and will keep coming back). When I looked at the live stream, there were three people in the room. Two were standing near a wall (one yawning), and the third one was wiping an accident on the floor (with what looked like a paper towel). My dog put their front paw on his knee, hoping for some attention. Not only did they not get attention (not even a sideways glance), but they almost got elbowed in the head. Normally, it's just the dogs being left alone to run around/sleep, which is bad enough, but this really takes the cake. That's how your dogs are going to be treated--completely ignored for hours or end. (Just like at the place we switched from. I honestly don't know if there's a daycare place in the city that treats dogs well.) The one star is because at least my dog never got physically hurt there (by a dog or a human). read more
