Having used DM hall to provide surveying services on my first house I will never use them again. I only found out how poor their service to me had been 14 yrs after the survey had been completed when I came to sell the flat and found that DM Hall had not clearly identified a major structural issuewith my home.
The result was the extra cost to me of employing a structural engineer,an electrician and North Lanarkshire Councils planning Dept to get the appropriate documentation in place before the sale could go through.
Had DM Hall done their job and clearly identified the issue, all documentation would have been obtained by my Lawyer prior to me buying the property and the cost of this would have been heaped on the seller who originally sold to me.
I would strongly recommend that you consider choosing a different surveyor. They failed to adequately identify a a serious structural issue with my property, are you willing to take the gamble that they won't miss a similar, or potentially an even worse, issue with your next home.
