Worst mistake of our lives was buying a home from D.R. Horton. We purchased our home in Jan 2022 and was told it would be finished by end of May/first part of June. Then it was extended to mid June, then the end of June. Of course, this was during the major housing boom when everyone was looking to buy, and houses were selling for way more than they should have. When we officially signed contract, we were not told there would be an HOA fee. We were under the impression there would be no HOA, and come signing day, we were surprised to see it listed on the closing documents. Aside from this, the amount of short cuts they made to push out the homes in our neighborhood was insane. The roofs on the homes in our neighborhood were installed incorrectly, and they used tiles that had been recalled previously. With 2 bad wind storms in March 2025, 90% of our neighborhood had damage to their roofs. And D.R. Horton wouldn't take ownership for their faulty work. The house wasn't even 3 years old. And the winds were maybe 30-40mph. Our roof had one slope that was severely damaged, and finally got our insurance to pay for replacement of 1 slope only. Insurance adjuster is the one who informed us the tiles used were part of a recall prior to the house being built, so they should have never used them to begin with. THEN we were told and shown that the roof was improperly installed. There were also homes in the neighborhood that had recalled electrical panel boxes that had been installed when the house was built, plumbing messed up, sprinkler systems messed up, uneven walls in homes, spray painted numbers left on walls of homes, and the yards....weeds galore. And of course HOA was on everyone about the weeds. D.R. Horton did not properly clean the yards prior to the grass being installed. Which led to excessive weeds, and finding glass beer bottles, a machete, water bottles, and empty cans sticking out of the grass. Holes were left unsealed in the bathrooms by plumbing, dryer vent is on top of the roof so is constantly clogged as the lint has to make its way up, over, and up again to get out. Just a big mess. We were also told there would NOT be any 2 story homes in the neighborhood when we purchased, so we settled for the largest flood plan they had in the neighborhood. And wouldn't you know, there is ONE...yes only ONE 2 story house out of probably 300? Absolutely baffled. Anyways, I would NEVER recommend D.R. Horton to anyone. They don't care about you. They only care about money. And they don't own up to their piss-poor work. read more

Recent unprofessional and rude experience with Kristy Edison. Would not recommend her in business and definitely would not trust her to teach etiquette to young minds. Not everything in life is free, and complaining when you don't get your way is just pitiful. read more
