Our friends some here frequently and wanted to have a bite here. The restaurant is kind of buried away down the hill. It's very cute inside with a very chill atmosphere. Service was excellent. Our waitress was very polite and helpful. Wish I remembered her name! The food is decent and well portioned for the price. Wasn't a big fan of the guac, it had a little sour taste to it because of the veggie toppings. Entrees were pretty good.

    MI VERACRUZ MOLE ENCHILADAS

D Restaurant Latin Cuisine is officially on my "where have you been all my life?" list. Drinks: D'Margarita (5/5) - Their top-shelf margarita is everything. At $13, it's a generous pour, perfectly balanced, and made with house sour mix (a huge deal for me since I'm picky about margs). Flavor on point, not too sweet, not too tart. Strawberry Margarita (5/5) - Refreshing, just the right strength, and blessedly not one of those overly syrupy disasters. Honestly, could drink this all summer. Food: Mole Enchiladas (5/5) - These came with Spanish rice and black beans. The rice was solid, beans were good (still partial to Gloria's, but these held their own). The enchiladas though? Absolute perfection. Shredded chicken tucked inside, topped with a slightly sweet mole and pickled red onions that made the whole thing pop. "Chef's kiss" doesn't even cover it, I was basically licking my plate. Tropical Banana Pudding (5/5) - Whoever thought to mix banana pudding with plantains deserves an award. Creamy, tropical, and dangerously addictive. Service: Friendly, attentive, and welcoming, exactly the kind of staff that makes you want to become a regular. Verdict: Highly recommend. Between the cocktails, the food, and the vibe, this place nails it. Already planning my return trip.

Can't believe it has been here 2 years and this close to home. Well I found it now and am so pleased.. Great service and excellent food. Drinks were on point. Having grown up in Tampa I had to try the Cubano sandwich, although it was a great sandwich I don't think it was a good Cuban (very high standard with me sorry) wife had carne asado and loved it. We will definitely be back!!! Great food

It's been a little over 1 yr since my last review and I can honestly say that this place only gets better and better. The margarita I had last night took me back to my earliest days in Cabo. The Fish tacos were outstanding and while servers change, service was excellent.

My son had the chicken enchiladas. I tried a bite and thought they were tasty!

Food was good. Unique and yummy. Would come back for chicken empanadas for me, the beef for my husband. The beef street tacos were smoky and delicious!

Trio de Picaditas Veracruzanas $8 (1 ea.) Salsa Verde, Mole, Black Bean - Corn Picadita with queso Fresca and grilled onions

D! What a lovely addition to the restaurant scene in Waxahachie! We love Latin cuisine. My husband's father was a Puerto Rican pilot and recruit during WWII. It was wonderful to discover Plantains, Sofrito, and the use of banana leaves and Latin flavors in upscale cooking out here where we live. Yes! The menu here has sharing plates, soups and salads, sandwiches, lunch specials, street style food, a dinner menu, a kids menu and brunch. This was an impromptu visit near the end of service on a weekday and D wasn't busy. It gave us a chance to check out the art on the walls and just relax with our house seasoned and fried tortilla chips, black bean dip and a nice salsa. Service was sweet and informative and we chose the Trio de Picaditas Veracruzanas appetizer. Three distinct corn "tarts" topped with grilled onions and queso; one each of salsa verde, mole and black bean. Lots of flavor here. Crunchy enough to cut in half and share; but not so crunchy as to fall apart. Only $8! Loved those and enough for 2 people. We also ordered guacamole ($9) to eat with everything. lol It came in a nice sized bowl. Terrific handmade guacamole with tomato, onion and cilantro. Sturdy enough for a spoon. We noshed on all that for awhile and then our entrees arrived. D's has a wide variety of Latin choices from Tex Mex, across the border and beyond. We recognized the use of Adobo, Sofrito and Green Olives with Chicken in the Pollo Guisado which my husband loves and I saw the use of Lamb in a burger, tacos, and a quesadilla that intrigued me. I ordered the Quesadilla Plate with Lamb ($20) which came with a fried ground lamb and cheese filling, Pico de Gallo, rice, black beans, and a choice of salsa. I had the spicy salsa verde. The lamb was delicious; but unfortunately greasy. It had pooled underneath my quesadillas and soaked some of the tortilla. Everything was very good, though, and it was a generous portion on the plate. My husband's Pollo Guisado was scrumptious. Marinated in Adobo and braised in Sofrito with green Olives, the chicken quarter was tender and the vegetables so good. The Pollo was also served with rice as well as two tortillas. ($17) D's Restaurant is well appointed, comfortable with a bar and two dining areas with booths and tables and chairs. The restrooms are beautiful and very clean with plenty of room. We were told this building had been a cotton warehouse at one time. The restaurant is near Railroad Street and the patio is opposite the Waxahachie Creek Hike and Bike Trail. I'm not sure about all of the parking available, but we parked out front!

The food was very good. The carne asada was well cooked and very flavorful. Very clean establishment. The performance by Tanya was the highlight of the night. She is amazing. She performed a great variety of music. Something for everyone's enjoyment.

I'm a little late sharing this review but I'm so glad I stumbled upon this place. It was so good that I went two days in a row! I found this place as I was meeting up with a friend headed back to Austin from Dallas and we needed a spot not too far off 35. We love catching up over queso and margaritas so this place met the requirements. Tucked away in downtown Waxahachie, it looks unassuming from the exterior. They have a parking lot off to the side plus some on street spaces in front. They have a nice waiting area in the front of the restaurant with the hostess stand. I was greeted both days by super friendly staff. Visit #1 - I loved the chips and salsa. Chips were so good that I couldn't stop eating them. Salsa had good flavor with the right amount of kick. We had queso for the table and plantains. I had a house margarita and ordered the enchiladas. Everything was delicious. No notes to offer. Visit #2 - I brought my hubby so he could experience the food. More chips and salsa were eaten and margaritas were consumed. We ordered empanadas for the table (2 beef and 2 chicken). My hubby is still talking about the empanadas and the sauce it came with to this day! He ordered the Cuban sandwich and I ordered the burrito bowl. Perfection! We enjoy Latin cuisine and will definitely be patronizing this business again! Wishing them all the success as it's so hard to find good Latin cuisine in this area!

Service was great and food is amazing! Super flavorful. Everything tastes very authentic and soooo good! I also got the Pasta Latina with asada but added shrimp and it was amazing! The brisket grilled cheese is on another level, my son loved it!

Thankfully we didn't go with the absurd $70 price point and instead we decided to order à la carte. I ordered the chicken and waffles and I'll tell u if I spent $70 to be served that dish I would be f*ckin pissed! Not only was my food cold when it arrived. The tenders they used looks like straight out of a Tyson chicken box from Walmart. We joked sonic had the same tenders. Now you'd would think they at least knew how to heat up the chicken (see cold food comment above) NOPE! My chicken was legitimately raw! Whooooo TF serves up raw chicken in such an expensive restaurant??? Which is potentially DEADLY btw! I had such high expectations of this place seeing it was in the heart of downtown Fort Worth and with how amazing dinner looks from the pictures I assumed I was in for a treat for brunch too but I was gravely mistaken. The first red flag should've been how slow it was there were barely any people there. But we decided to give it a try anyways. Fortunately enough I got away with having to only pay $30 for my Tyson raw chicken and waffles and an upset stomach. Will never recommend this place or come here again. I had work in the service industry for so many years, one of the many reasons why I gave it so many tries but unfortunately I won't be returning. I waited 40 minutes for my food, ordered two plates. I understand some plates cooking times can be longer than others but nothing ever came. One of them was just a simple bean tostada. The time before this I came at 9:20 pm, while it says on google that their hours of operation is until 10:00 pm. The server told me they were closing down and they only had Baleadas so I left to the taco spot next door just to see her turn the sign back on and let another table walked in. It's honestly so disappointing because it's difficult to find Honduran restaurants nearby, and I met the owner's daughter a couple of times and she's truly a sweetheart with a different vision for the restaurant. But at this point I rather make the drive to another place.

The restaurant is clean and modern with a bright and welcoming aesthetic. The waitperson on staff was incredibly attentive and friendly; she was not confident in her English but my Spanish and her English combined were enough that all of our food (even with change requests) came out exactly as ordered and cooked to perfection. If you don't speak Spanish, don't let this dissuade you, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and knew exactly what my non-Spanish companions wanted without my subpar linguistic assistance. She made fantastic recommendations and accurately told us that everything on the menu was good. The menu had a great variety from shawarma to empanadas. The waitperson was very good about proactively telling us what they were out of (only a couple of things--lasagna and soup). I don't think you can go wrong with anything you can choose. I ordered the Pepito with mushrooms and chicken. It was AMAZING. Perfectly seasoned and so satisfying. My husband ordered a cordon bleu and a fish empanada along with a pizza pastele. Our daughter ordered the Venezuelan take on chicken shawarma. They greatly enjoyed their meals and we all enjoyed the mini empanadas we shared (two pork, two beef, and two chicken is the default). I also savored every drop of my Especial Super Sandys cocktail. The only drawback to this place is it is right next to my work, so I'm going to be constantly ordering from here or hating myself for not doing so. Edited to add: They were open until 11pm on the Tuesday night we went; some places online erroneously state 6pm as closing time.
