Got food poisoning.. so not a great experience... 30 hours bedridden :-( As to the restaurant it is not as authentic as the reviews lead you to believe. Our waiter was a family member and started off well, but was disinterested by the end of the meal; we rather got the feeling that they were just trying to turn the tables as quickly as possible - certainly not the Italian way. We were in and out in 1 hour and 20 mins for 3 courses... Very rushed by Italian standards... This restaurant was full of Americans and the portion sizes reflected catering to the American desire for a huge plate of food... again, not very Italian... Not iin the same league as Da Bruno's... which is significantly better, less expensive, friendlier and has smaller portion sizes... that is assuming you want the traditional Italian experience rather than the Americanized version ;-) If you don't want food poisoning, then you may want it give them a miss... ;-) read more

Delicious and fun! We had a great meal here after drinks at Le Sirenuse. The owner broke out in opera singing with another diner which was a real treat. He also occasional broke out musical instruments and started furiously playing them. Great food, good time! read more

I have to say that Da Vincenzo was one of our favorite dinners while in Italy for our honeymoon last week. Coming for a restaurant industry background; this place got straight 10's on everything from food to service to hospitality all around. Can't say enough about how amazing our meal was. This family run place makes you feel like you are in their home kitchen; Raffaelo and Vincenzo really made our night feel that much more special. The best spaghetti and clams I've ever had, seafood peccheri was perfectly cooked and the seafood was super fresh. Delicious desserts and a nice touch with the limoncello shots. If you're visiting Positano, make sure you go for lunch or dinner (make a reso, as this place is popular). Great views from outdoor tables; inside is super cozy. This was by far the most memorable meal in Italy. The gnocchi was like soft pillows. We had an appetizer of tiny thin anchovies with pickled onions and it's a dish I think about to this day. Fantastic food, great service and perfect views. read more

Amazing food and beautiful location. Right at a bend in the road up the hill not far from the central square in Positano. Started with a fried dough appetizer, then got fusilli with short rib and the gnocchi - all of which were amazing. My favorite classic italian restaurant in Positano! We started with the buffalo mozzarella(holy freshness- did they congeal this right before we arrived?), the tomatoes and olive oil was delicious and paired well. I had the gnocchi which was perfectly soft and pillowy and the sauce of tomatoes, mozzarella and basil was so simple yet the freshness of the ingredients made the dish a true standout. Ugh, just thinking about it now makes me salivate. My husband went with the catch of the day(I'm not personally the largest fish fan, but he loved it). For dessert we went with the tiramisu and the lemon cake- both were delicious, but I'd have to say that the lemon cake stole the show- it was so fresh and bursting with flavor. Overall, amazing meal and everyone that worked there was so nice. They obviously only use fresh ingredients which really took simple meals and made them wonderful. read more

Great place in Positano for dinner, we made reservations which was a good idea, I had the steak, which was ok, but clearly not a speciality, my wife had the whole fish special which was a great idea. As a vacationer in this area, I would highly recommend this place if you have a few days, I would say that it was recommended by out B&B and can see why. read more

This was our favorite restaurant in Positano. It seemed like they just got everything right. The owners and staff were incredibly warm and attentive, offering us a glass of prosecco as we waited for our table (would recommend getting a reservation, especially during the more crowded months). Items on the menu were certainly familiar, but did not fit the cookie cutter mold of many of the other restaurants we had been to in Positano. The house wine was fantastic, the zucchini blossoms freshly prepared, the pastas with the perfect amount of chew, and the affogato a perfect end to a fantastic meal. Amazing all around! To start, Ana, the reservation manager is top notch! We put our name on the list and she managed our expectations well by letting us know it could be up to an hour before we were seated. Given what we had heard about the food, we were more than willing to wait. A nice added touch is that she provides all guests waiting with a complimentary glass of Prosecco. While waiting outside, she allowed us to order a beer and transferred it to our table tab. She moved with speed but care at the same time. She was hustling to make sure all the customers were taken care of and having a great experience. We sat down after about 50 minutes and our waiter was friendly with a positive and upbeat personality. Our drinks, an Aperol Spritz and the Americano, were amazing and some of the best we've had here in Positano. We ordered the fried ricotta and mozzarella calzone appetizer as well as the gnocchi Sorrentino and pesto ravioli. All three dishes were light, airy and delicious! We have tried 5 other restaurants here in Positano and Da Vincenzo hands down is the best food and service. It was so great, we are planning to go back tonight even if we have to wait again! We went to this restaurant after making an appointment due to the huge attendance. The experience was disastrous, I asked to be refunded this is the first time that it happens. The dishes are not filling, and expensive, as well as glasses of wine. We waited 45 mins before being served, as the waiters were running due to crowds. Result: disastrous meal: the entrance to the squid served was completely burnt (literally), the dish with squid also, and as a substitute dish (because it was impossible to eat it), dry fish lasagne to wish. We waited about 30 or so for a table on a bench across the street from the restaurant with complimentary glasses of prosecco. We had salads and pasta. I can't remember the Italian name of my pasta dish, but it was house made ravioli filled with a soft white cheese (not ricotta but like ricotta) in a pesto sauce. The ravioli dumplings were just melt-in-your-mouth soft and filled with a delectable smooth and salty cheese. The pesto sauce was bright and fresh. It won't be tough to find good food in Italy. It's everywhere, but perhaps it may be difficult to find an honest spot that delivers good, fresh food with each dish. This is a tourist town and repeat customers are not the gold standard they may be in more local spots. Da Vincenzo to the rescue. This restaurant is tucked up on a curvy road with (almost) a view to kill-- the spot with the best view is next door, but I imagine the food isn't as good, and probably way more expensive. We really went to town here on our ordering. We started with grilled octopus covered in shishito peppers, shrimp ceviche served in a hollow tomato on top of creamy burrata cheese, pan-fried anchovies (yes, they taste fantastic), and a deconstructed tiramisu for desert. We paired with local white wine. If you order exactly as we did, you will be golden. If you get something entirely different, I bet you will win too. Had an amazing dinner here this week. The place is really nice inside a a bit further away from the packed part of Positano. The service staff was super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. The mixed vegetable appetizer with ricotta was amazing and fresh. The spaghetti with zucchini pasta dish was one of the best I've had all week. Only knock on the place is that there is limited outdoor seating and what is there is right on the street, inches from the cars going by.
