My only criticisms would be thet deserts aren't as great as starters and main courses and service has changed, it used to be a more leisurely dining experience and now you are interrupted a lot and you feel like they are rushing you out.

The pizzas are thin, stonebaked ones. The staff are top notch, especially Keith who is a total craic! You'll be able to work out who Keith is when you are there.

We came in so near to closing that I felt bad, but the staff welcomed us warmly and we were not rushed in the slightest. Not only did we each order mains, but an appetizer, wine, they graciously brought my younger sons ice cream from the kid menu (well after closing time), and when we were trying to leave they brought espressos with biscotti and insisted we stay. The food was impeccable and authentic, made with love, excellently seasoned and well presented. I truly cannot recommend La Lombarda highly enough.

All pizzas are made fresh on the premesis to order in a proper Italian pizza oven giving them that real authentic taste. To complete the restaurant there's also a room downstairs for private functions and/or their busier times. During the weekend it would definately be advised to book in advance as they can get quite busy. As the restaurant is located on the corner of king street and castle gate, the location couldn't be much better for either grabbing a bite to eat while shopping during the day or having an enjoyable meal with a few pals before a night out.

The restaurant is over two floors and both areas are nice, with big glass windows so you can watch the comings and goings outside. Food is traditional tapas, and is of great quality. Especially good for sharing with groups of friends - although make sure you order lots! The service has always been friendly and I like that you keep getting little plates of food all evening and you can add more to your order as the evening goes on. There is a reasonable priced wine list although the sangria is really nice. Lovely Spanish food in a great atmosphere.
