This place is kind of hard to find. It is behind the auto shop. The people are nice, but I think it is no better than any other car washing places in terms of cleanliness. After the car wash, my car still has a lot of dots of stains on the windows and they definitely did not thoroughly wipe the interior of the car since there are still some dusts. However, price wise, this place is definitely pretty cheap. Since this is outdoor and it's hand washed, definitely prepare for the weather. read more

Hard to find, I drove past it a couple times and it wasn't until I somehow ended up in the alley that I realized its location (behind a repair shop and a fast food joint, away from the street). I've come here a couple times and love the mom-and-pop vibe. There's a shaded section with a plastic table and chairs where you can wait as your car is hand-washed right in front of you by 2-3 people. Was in the area and had about an hour to kill when I came across a friends check-in here. Coincidentally my car couldn't have needed a clean more after several trips to the beach and the words wash me written in the dust on my back window. Overall, they did an ok job. The consoles were all really clean as well as the exterior, but there was a decent amount of dog hair left behind. I know it's tough to get that stuff up, but I was able to with 5 minutes of a lint comb to the backseat. Maybe it's a tool they could invest in? The real bummer was the price. It was advertised as 30 bucks, but when I pulled they said it would be double since I drive a Jeep. Kinda bogus, but my car does smell like delicious cherries now. read more

Came here yesterday to get a car wash for my Honda HRV. Saw the prices online combined with reviews here and thought I would give it a shot. I get there and the lady working the front quoted me 40$ bc is an "SUV". My HRV is not a true SUV it's a big little car. So I was already agitated about that but I decided to give it a chance anyway. Then I learned they don't take cash, another inconvenience. They spent about 25 minutes washing the car and I would say it was okay. The outside was spotless but the interior was a little sloppy. The vacuum works really well so there's that. Overall, it was not worth what I was quoted. If you have a crossover or an SUV that is not a true SUV the value you get here is low. read more

I read a few reviews that complained about up charging but decided to give this place a chance, thinking maybe it was just picky customers. Plus, I like to patronize local businesses. When I got there, I order the 'deluxe' car wash. Immediately the woman went to the back seat and started poking around, like she was looking for something. She said, "you have dogs... ten dollars more". I keep a blanket down for the dogs and had taken that out so I was surprised there was hair so I looked inside. I had to look closely to see any dog hair but besides a very few hairs on the floor, the floors and the whole interior were spotless as I just had the car detailed a month ago. I asked why there was an additional charge (because I had ordered the car wash that included a vacuum whether I had dogs or not) and she got immediately very rude. She wouldn't even let me speak and just kept saying "have a nice day" over and over really loudly. Needless to say, I didn't stay and won't be back. What a shame! read more

Do not bring soft top cars to this place. The power washer that they use is way too strong and they basically destroyed my top. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I've been coming here for years. They do really good washes and stand behind their work. I'm not sure if it's the COVID or financial trouble. But they tried to charge me $60 for a regular wash inside and out. I ended up paying only $25 for an exterior wash. Without a single wipe in the interior. Not sure if I'll be coming back, but this $60 attempt is a STRAIGHT RIPOFF. So just watch out for that. $35 used to get you interior and exterior. read more

Although its a little hidden, they have given me the best wash/wax jobs I've had! My car looks brand new, probably even better than it did when I drove off the dealer lot brand new (since the dealer didn't even wax it). Best value, and fastest turnaround! Everything is shining!!! Stumbled upon this car wash service when looking for a wash near my daughter's school. To be honest, I drove up and almost turned around because it wasn't the most appealing venue and it was very hard to find. Da Wash is actually located to the right-and-back of a car mechanic. I didn't even see a sign once I pulled up, just a driveway, few guys with jets and a couch off to the side. I figured "Eh, it's got good reviews so why not!" Their wash rates are pretty cheap overall. My car interior unfortunately was covered, and I mean completely covered with dog hair everywhere, so for my SUV they quoted me $60. I was a little discouraged, but could understand since they are doing all their work completely by hand, and removing all that hair wasn't going to be easy. Luckily, despite the $60 I paid for my car wash, my SUV came out looking stunning. All the dog hair was absolutely gone, the inside vacuumed, waxed and polished, all windows sparkling clean, tires and rims brightly washed and coated! The team of 4 took almost 50 mins to complete the job, but WOW I was impressed. I could tell that they really put their time and genuine effort in making my car look as well as it did! It's funny what a tiny little tucked-away place can pull off - definitely don't judge a book by its cover. Also the main woman there that vacuumed and rang me up was the sweetest, kindest woman. Dang, been coming here for years as I drive a soft top convertible that needs to be hand washed, I'd come multiple times a month because they had the best prices in town.. they never did the best job but for $20 I never complained because you get what you pay for... well just came by to find they have raised their prices significantly!!! Quick service - maybe good for a quick wash. Bought 19.99 package #3 . There was still dirt on my windshield, they washed my mats and put the mats in a plastic bag that was on wet dirt and then put the dirty wet bag in my car. There were areas not vacuumed. Complete waste of time. They used to do a $7ish wash that was exterior only (decent for brushless and machine-less) but apparently did away with it for the new year. When I pulled up and asked for it this time, a nice gentleman regrettably told me the news, but then said he could do it for $10. Annoying, but fine. I'll do it but I mentally decided this would be my last time here. As he began work, an older lady (presumably the owner or at least a senior washer) walked up to me and asked if I wanted the tires dressed. I said sure, provided it comes with the $10 wash. She said that it's $14, so I politely declined, the $10 wash is fine. With a disgusted look, she informed me it would be $14 regardless. The @$!#. At $14 there are 100 other car washes that can do a better wash QUICKER in San Diego. Do yourself a favor and go to none of them and wash your car yourself! Even a spray and wash is better, just bring your own supplies. I promptly stopped the wash, pulled out, and left. Never again. read more

LOVE this place! I found this gem thanks to yelp and now consider them my only resource for a car wash and detail. One note - they are very hard to find and co-located with an auto body/repair shop. For $30 cash I can get my Ford Explorer cleaned in about 25 minutes. They have 2 to 4 people working on your vehicle at any point in time and do a pretty good job on the interior. There is an overuse of Armoral, but at least they attack with a vengeance the dog hair that has taken up permanent residence in my vehicle. I love that they do a great job washing the car and hand drying it (even getting to the top! The windows are unbelievably clean when they are done also. You can get a simple wash for $7 or upgrade to having a decent detail/wash for $25 (plus $5 for trucks, SUVs). Don't forget to leave these folks a tip and bring cash! read more

Just hit up the wash for my first time with my Tesla Roadster. I've been looking for a car wash that doesn't use machines or tracks. The team at The Wash rocks it, they hand wash, vacuum, and dry your car by hand faster than it takes to get through a automated carwash. They dried all the knooks and crannies with high pressured air to make sure no water flies out once I hit the road and wow it was the first time I drove off in this car with no water flying around!! Super bummed by my wash today. I've been here a bunch of times with both of my vehicles and been charged the same amount. Today, they decided that my small hybrid hatchback was an SUV at the end and that they wanted to charge me 50% more. In addition to that, they didn't do a great job (for example, the cup holders weren't wiped out,etc). They also took a lot longer than their initial time estimate, which made me late for a meeting. The seating area also stunk strongly of weed. I used to absolutely love this place. But today was such a huge miss that I have no plans to ever go back. read more

I hate to be a hater. But this place brings this side out of me. I tried this place months ago. The owner, super sweet and attentive. Let me know that if there is anything that I needed to get done to let her know. The prices were affordable, this was great service! I came back a few more times, and same treatment. They even offered to do some extra without charge. Not only were they cleaning the car, but they were very meticulous about it. So I was excited about this, I even sent like 5 people over to them. All of a sudden, honeymoon period was over. I am not sure what I did, but they pretty much wanted to break up. Prices went up. The owner (a lady that is always there), wasn't very nice. I am not sure if she did not recognize me or what, but she pretty much gave me the silent treatment. I asked if they could just clean a chair for me, and all of sudden, not only was there a price, but there was a PRICE. How do you go from not charging extra, to charging a whole bunch???? Transitions are good, they should be implemented here. I was able to put my feelings aside and get my car washed. Except the car was not properly washed anymore. The attention they once gave my car was gone. For $15, go down the street on Fairmont and they do a better job. This was a huge bummer. I went from recommending this place to everyone to now regretting ever mentioning it. I am currently on my search for a better car wash. Oh by the way, to all you anti-smokers. I arrived around 10:30am on an overcast Saturday. There were about 7 cars in front of me, and I waited 45 minutes to get to my turn. Sign had 3 levels: $14.99, $19.99, and $29.99. Was debating on getting the lower or middle that, and decided to splurge and get the middle tier (it includes vacuuming, and my small car can be vacuumed in less than 1 minute). The woman asks me which level I want...I.tell her $20. Without even looking over my car (which is always garage kept and was already pretty clean), she pauses she says "Oh, they told me your car is $30." "Ummmm, I don't want air freshener and all that other stuff. I just want a basic wash. I don't need the $30 level." Blank, expressionless look on her face as she replies "It's $30". I repeat, "I don't need that level. I want the one listed on the large sign right there for $20." Another cold, blank, rude stare: "It's $30." Why have signs with different price levels? So I found this hand car wash place on yelp called "Da Wash" on El Cajon Blvd, and it had pretty good reviews so I decided to try. This place was hard af to find because it's hidden inside/behind Huys Auto Repair I was getting annoyed trying to find it. I circled around the area 3x. Once I got there this lady came out and opened the car door and asked me which wash I wanted and I said I wanted the $20 deluxe one, and she was like no this car is to dirty you need the $30 wash lol. So I was like uh okay. I mean I was already there I guess, I lowkey felt finessed because I know I keep my car pretty clean and I picked up all the trash before I came there, but it's fine. Anyways fast forward they were washing/cleaning my car and omg they were putting in work. They went in every crack and crevice. After seeing how hard they were working I wasn't really mad anymore that she pushed me into getting the most expensive wash lol. After they were done my car literally looked clean af inside and out. I had a pretty great experience here getting my pre-road trip car wash. It's all hand wash (no machines or brushes) and they take pride in their work. I like that it shares a lot with an auto shop so I can get my oil changed too. A couple things to be aware of though: they wash one car at a time, and it takes 30-45 min. If there's anyone in front of you, even 1 person, you're going to be there a while. Also, it's cash only and there's no ATM on site, and they charge an extra $10 for SUVs and trucks. However, I had enough cash, there was no line, and I was really happy with the service for a #3 package ($30 with SUV surcharge) so 5 stars from me! read more

Wish I could leave zero stars. Came here one time before, a woman about my age was running the show. Car wash was OK , the tire wet they put on my tires spread all over the side of my car. No big deal whatever...but I decided to return again. This time it was about 4pm close at 6 and no one else's car was being washed. I thought perfect... When I pulled in I saw one guy in a blue car. He was detailing his own car at the time but i noticed he mouthed he words like crap or damn there is a customer here. Would not even want someone with an attitude like that touching my car. Upon arriving I was hesitant as the car wash was tucked in behind a auto shop and didn't have any noticeable signs in how to enter. However, Team Da Wash took care of my car inside and out. I was asked of what I wanted done in my interior and if there were any areas to focus on. When vacuuming inside they did a great job in getting in the seats, under the seats and all my car mats. For a small hand car wash place, in which I prefer hand car wash places, they did a great in cleaning everywhere to include the inside of my windows which is a pet peeve of mine that never gets done correctly and then I end up having to do it myself. Not the case here. Only going for 4 stars do to cash only which is strictly a personal preference, not a fan of carrying cash on me and needed to walk to a local market to get cash.
