We called to have our furnace looked at as we had no heat. When the technician came he said the…read morethere was a major part that needed to be replaced but it was under warrantee. It took several days to get the part in and once it was installed I was handed a bill for $2000. I was told that $500 of that bill was to return the old part to the manufacturer. Upon investigating I found out that the manufacturer covers the cost of returning defective parts under warrantee and this repair should have been around $500 to $600. I requested an itemized bill from them and was told that they don't do that and was ignored when I made further inquiries. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

We woke up to no heat, made the call to Handy Brothers and within the next half hour at the least Sheldon arrived to face repairs to a twenty odd year old furnace. Within the next hour, he diagnosed and explained the problem, got the heat running, knowledgeably and efficiently answered all our questions, helped us ( through a low-pressure conversation) choose the best replacement furnace for our home and while waiting to be sure the furnace was going to run efficiently, he put a new switch on the fireplace. Great technician and fantastic service from the phone call to this posting. (They have already called to make arrangements to come measure for the new low energy, high efficiency furnace unit). In all the years we have called on Handy Brothers for their knowledge, expertise, maintenance and purchasing we have never been disappointed. Highly recommend Sheldon for his personable approach, level of knowledge and obvious skill since we are warm as toast now!

When the service provider from this company came to our home they did not do a thorough look at our air conditioner or our furnace. Instead he brought a brief case with pamphlets to sell products. We are not interested in buying more products we are interested in servicing what we already have. I was not impressed with this company and have found a much better company.

I was somewhat apprehensive when I called Donaldson's figuring they might be too busy to even answer my call. But to my delight they received my call immediately and sent out a service person within an hour! The young lady that came to repair the furnace was very polite and knowledgable. She was in and out within half an hour with the furnace up and running, as good as new. Thanks to Donaldson's fast and reliable service we did'nt have to spend the night huddling around the kitchen stove.We're so glad we found Donaldson's when we purchased our furnace 4 years ago.

Very poor plumbing service. This is not like them. Donaldson should refund our $196.00. They did…read morenot repair the problem, and the reason for this poor review is mostly because the Donaldson supervisor came to our house to give the junior person sent to do the job more tools but he did not even come in to see the situation. That is totally unacceptable. Donaldson charged us and left saying They couldn t fix. Said he would send in a quote for a totally new fixture to be put in. (Not interested as we have a reno planned in 2 years) We called another company Podolan Plumbing & Heating and Milosz Podolan got it repaired and without removing any ceramic tiles which is what the Donaldson guy said might have to be done. It was the hot water handle that had come off the American Standard jacuzzi in master. The faucet of Jacuzzi was dripping warm water and badly and we had to turn off hot water to stop the fast, noisy dripping. The hot water handle would not go back on by us. The person Donaldson sent was clearly lost and out of his element. My husband found him looking up plumbing images on his smart phone more than once. My husband asked his background - he said he was a Western University Grad , husband asked him how long he s been doing this work. He said 2 months. Worth repeating - he called his supervisor who brought him more tools but again this supervisor DID NOT come in to our house to assess the situation. Poor service .

What a mistake we made calling Reliance to do an annual furnace maintenance. The company we had…read moreused for years closed so had to find someone else to do the yearly maintenance. The Reliance tech spent a few minutes with our furnace and then tried to sell us service plan with monthly payments (not interested). He told us that he would email us details about a plan. An then an hour later an email arrives telling us that our service plan starts in November for $29.95 plus tax per month. We did not want a plan nor did we sign or agree. Just spent all kinds of time this morning talking to someone in a call centre trying to cancel this fake contract. We were told their system was 'down' so changes would take time. This is basically criminal signing a customer up for a service plan without their consent. Beware and keep your distance from Reliance Home Comfort.
