Visited this place on the Hartford coffee crawl and it was one of my favorite stops. This establishment is dog friendly. For well behaved dogs only. They even gave my dog a pup cup with whipped cream. For food I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a soft roll which was so good. All of their bread and bagels come from local bakery's . For a beverage I ordered an almond joy iced latte that was delicious. Staff here is super friendly and helpful with suggestions on what to order. They also give away 1 day old bagels if you give them a 5 star review!!!

I love this place! I stumbled upon it about a week ago and I've gone twice already! Every time everything was perfect, the first time I went I got a pistachio iced latte and an egg and cheese on a plain bagel. The coffee was smooth and the bagel, whoa! It was the perfect bagel. I sat there on a busy weekend morning and saw the line nearly extend out the door at one point. It's worth waiting in line for. It's also worth grabbing a seat and staying for a while, the interior is adorable and very inviting! The next time I went I got a iced chai latte with another egg and cheese- this time on a hard roll. I thought the plain bagel was peak but the hard roll was actually JUST AS GOOD! The iced chai was perfection. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Very cute little coffee shop with pastries and the breakfast sandwiches. Customer service is great. So happy to see so many coffee shops opening up in the area!

First time here and pleasantly surprised! I thought it was a hole in the wall dive shop but it is very cute and modern inside. Good amount of seating with a few tables outside. My daughter got a spinach and mushroom egg wrap that was nice and thick. She ordered me a cortado extra hot like I like it. Tasty and yes extra hot! The staff are polite and welcoming, not coffee house pretentious so that was another plus! Next time I've over this way I will keep this place in mind for sure!

Daily Grind is such a welcoming space! We loved learning about the back story of how it started. Growing up in the town, Evan wanted a place that brought the locals together. He also finds ways to incorporate local businesses too. You can tell how much he pours his heart into the shop and the community. We also LOVE the whole beans to roast at home. Highly recommend the PB or Almond joy lattes & to top it off, they make KILLER breakfast sandwiches. We mean killer....You'll regret it if you don't grab one with your coffee! Key Features: Fast service and warm environment! Has some parking out front and easy to locate off the main road. Table and high top bar to sit at when not busy. Breakfast food menu options are very good, quick and fresh! By far one of the best bagel and wraps had around the area for breakfast. They have milk alternatives and some speciality latte items to try that change often.

Updating my review so it's all together. If you enjoy local coffee stops that excel and breakfast sandwiches, bagels, and a delicious array of flavor options then daily grind is for you. The staff is friendly and welcoming, and always helpful in recommending things to try next, the shop is very cool where you could come in to sit and enjoy some coffee and get some work or school work done if you needed to. There's plenty of seating to stay and enjoy your time for a while. The whole place is a vibe.

Got recommended this new coffee shop from my friend and decided to try it out. The ladies behind the counter were extremely friendly :) Got the hot cocoa and it's gotta be one of the best ones I've tried so far! Nice little place with a cozy, welcoming feel. Prices aren't too steep and it's very clean inside. A nice, quiet place for those who want to meet up with a friend or study. A great addition to Unionville that I will be returning to!

We gladly exiled ourselves to the empty patio, with gusts of wind, flying leaves, & steady stream of stop 'n go traffic along Route 4. It couldn't have been better! Indoors tightly packed booths & tables, family atmosphere, and servers buzzing about. Service: Given our solitary position, we found the service to be forgetful with regard to the hearty soles outside. Coffee request came twice and finally order taken. However, my wife received the wrong plate, which was quickly corrected. I just hope the other indoor customer did not receive the plate all ready sampled! Food: I had the standard Unionville Special breakfast plate per following options; 2 eggs over easy, 2 slices of pumpkin French toast, 2 slices of bacon. A side order of bacon to share, including Velcro Pup. My wife egg/cheese Unionville Special Quesadilla, With well done home fries and bacon. All in all the FOOD was very good and not a crumb left. The SERVICE a bit scattered and slow, but we were allowed the Patio and all is forgiven. The AMBIANCE indoors a bit tighter than this diner would like and the VALUE, well like everywhere else these dazes, not easy on the pocket.

That's because when you pull into the shopping plaza.....you don't see it. But if you circle around to the right, you'll see it on the side of the strip mall's buildings. And trust me, this spot is definitely worth hunting down to experience a standout breakfast or lunch. We walked in a little before 1:00 yesterday and found a table for two in the back left corner of the dining room, so we had a good view of the entire room. I have to tell ya, the place was packed! Breakaway closes at 3:00 every day except Sunday (2:00), and there were breakfast and lunch menus out, plus a few daily specials. My wife went with a "William's Ham Panini" ($17) with thin sliced ham, bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar and honey mustard on a grilled panini. We both were struck at how much ham was piled onto her sandwich. She had a few choices for a side dish and put her nickel down on potato salad. I went with The JT Salad ($16). The menu says it's been their "best-selling salad 25 years and counting". It was a big portion of mixed greens served with house balsamic dressing, grape tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese, and grilled chunks of teriyaki glazed chicken breast. It was stellar, with plenty of that yummy cheese and chicken. The only sour note with our lunch was a rather steep $4.25 for a glass of iced tea that was half-filled with ice. The food was very good and a decent amount of leftovers came home with us for another day. I was unexpectedly impressed by how crowded Bistro was on a random Monday. I bet you'll be too.

These days it's hard to find a cafe that isn't overpriced and better than just average. But Toasted Oat hits the high points of quality of cook on the food, even if the ingredients may not all be top notch. They have breakfast sandwiches, bowls and scrambles, as well as regular sandwiches, salads and burritos. We enjoyed the regular breakfast sandwich with spinach and cheese (subbed the meat but wish the spinach had been cooked in - $7) and the breakfast scramble which included 2 eggs, 3 veggies, cheese, protein all mixed/cut up together, as well as hash brown (didn't exactly look homemade?) and toast ($11). Everything was served in to-go containers so the looks weren't the best but makes sense given the place and that most people probably don't dine in. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. Everything takes time to come out so you know it's done to order. They also have some coffee and tea. They had a few coffee cake items in a glass display but didn't look homemade either. It feels like a cafe should have more selection of pastries but again bother me. Service was friendly and patient. The actual location isn't that great visually either. There is one longer table and a few smaller ones, but it's not a big place and not decorated to impress (fine by me!) It is located in a small nondescript plaza with an Indian market. Small parking lot. Wish this small business well!

My brunch buddy and I had to make a last minute change of plans, so we landed at Toasted OAT today for breakfast. There are a few tables in a roped off section of the parking lot to eat outside. Inside, there's a long table in the middle, 3 smaller tables on the left, and a bar at the window. We had no problem getting a seat, but it seems like it's more of a take-and-go place than a destination to eat. There are a lot of customizations you can make to your food order, which is more easily done in their online ordering system--but there's a $1.95 service fee to use it. My friend and I made our decisions based off of that system but ordered at the counter. While there are a lot of breakfast and lunch options, there aren't many beverages. Coffee, hot chocolate, and tea are the mainstays for warm beverages, and all cold beverages other than cold brew coffee are prepackaged bottles in a cooler and run just short of $4. Every order, whether it's take-out or eat-in, is served in disposable packaging with disposable utensils. I ordered the Reuben bowl without eggs and a side waffle with syrup. Kind of love that I could get a side waffle. It took a while for the food to come out. It felt longer than it should have been for how few people were there, but I didn't time it. My waffle was cold. The tator tots in the Reuben bowl, however, were cooked perfectly, as were my friend's hash browns. Everything tasted great. If you're looking for the picturesque weekend brunch experience, this isn't it. But if you want a quick bite that's well made with quality ingredients and no-fuss beverages, you'll be very happy here. Even more so if you want to take it on the go.
