    Large cone

My daughter has tried Dairi-o on her commute from home to college and, as a vegetarian, loves that they have vegetarian options. I, knowing they have soft serve ice cream, have always wanted to try it and had my chance today. Husband and I were hungry on a road trip and decided we needed a little cone to tide us over. However, it seemed a better value to just go with the large cone. Wow, was it large. I am now stuffed but happy. Cone was perfect flavor, temp and consistency. We just went through the drive through but the place had a Chick-fil-a vibe with the red and white decor, clear but colorful menu and excellent and correct service. I'd definitely like to visit again and try some of their non dessert items.

I was drawn to come here because I like Dari-O and I thought the outside looked like a fun place to eat. King is a nearby town, but the location is not close to a highway so you will need to tour King to get there. It looked clean outside and in and I decided to go a different path and got a BBQ sandwich combo and got a chocolate shake for a drink. The sandwich was a chopped pork was okay but for the price it was a good value. The chocolate shake was not that great and although made with soft serve ice cream it was not that creamy and difficult to drink. A nice spot to have a quick and inexpensive meal.

Paid $6.39 for around a 12oz milk shake (they only have one size). I waited 15 minutes in the drive thru listening to the workers explain how they'd messed up other orders. I've lived in the area my whole life and have always gone here, but after the last few times, I'm done.

My wife has been mentioning Dairi-O since we've arrived in North Carolina. Today, we were on our way back to Winston from Hanging Rock State Park and saw there was one in King. We were both hungry so we stopped to grab something to eat. We had no idea that the original Dairi-O was in King. We immediately thought the exterior of the building was cool and there was ample parking and even an outdoor area to eat your meal. There is also a drive-through. We stepped inside and were immediately greeted by a young lady who helped us get familiar with the menu. My wife inquired about the ice cream since she didn't see any information on the menu board and was told that if we wanted to order ice cream it was best to go to the ice cream counter so we could look at the options. My wife chose the Apple Crisp Chicken Salad with a bottled water and I chose the Monster burger since I saw it was a 6.4 oz. burger vs. their standard hamburger which was 3.2 oz. I also ordered fries. I was surprised to see that in addition to the routine condiments they also had individual packets of Texas Pete hot sauce, Malt Vinegar and Lemon Juice. Our order number was called in a timely manner and we took a seat inside. My wife enjoyed her salad and her only complaint is they use an iceberg mix. I thought my burger and fries were tasty as well. My wife couldn't resist the temptation to order an ice cream cone. There were a lot of great options but she ultimately chose a berry cheesecake flavor although we can't remember exactly which flavor it was. She rated the ice cream and the freshness of the waffle cone a 5! Overall, this was a good experience and we enjoyed our meals, we will be back!

I've been coming here since I was a kid! We used to walk up, order the most delicious hot dogs, and play in the arcade in their second building next door. I almost don't recognize the new building with the massive soda cup out front! Crazy to see how many locations they have now. Their hot dogs are and have always been one of my favorites. I'm from New England where we grill the tops of our buns with butter and Dairio is one of the only places that do this! Their hot dogs are great quality (I know, sounds weird to say about a hot dog but trust me). They grill them slightly and roll the buns in butter and grill them quickly. It creates this amazing crust and the rest is history. Fries are seasoned and delicious as well but if you only get one thing, get a hot dog.

This has been my go-to Dairi-O location since I moved to the area a few years back. There's quite a bit of room on the inside, but I love that they have covered outdoor seating. My usual order is a hotdog combo with fries. Their hot dogs are juicy, topped with fresh, quality toppings, and placed in a buttery grilled bun. The fries are always crispy and pair perfectly with their homemade ranch. I also try to save some room for a scoop of ice cream when I'm there. They have over 25 flavors, but I'm a sucker for the strawberry cheesecake. This last visit I switched it up a little and got a salad, the Dairi-O All Star Salad to be exact. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of it. All the veggies tasted fresh, and the chicken souvlaki was seasoned perfectly. I will definitely be ordering it again.

Food was Very hot and fresh! Food was sooo hot I burnt tip of my tongue.. lol Burgers are decent.. kind of remind me of a hotel burger with the sesame seed bun. The cheese fries were good, just could have used a little more cheese to cover all the fries. Also, drive thru moved fast. I enjoyed my lunch here. I will definitely visit one of their locations again.

Really good for a fast food restaurant. Quality food, service, and quick and easy. (Along side the really good ice cream selection)

As it turns out, P B Clark's is a restaurant the likes of which you'll see in or near most small towns. Meat and 2 sides, lots of fish, somewhat worn interior, not super clean, wait staff who are regular people. I've seen it plenty of times and I generally like these places because they are predictable and serve good basic food. P B Clark's is no different. The girl who waited on us is young and has a sunny personality. Super nice and always available. We were also topped off by another nice girl, possibly another waitress or a food runner. I ordered the Friday special catfish with fries and hush puppies. I'm giving this review a 4-star because of the staff and the fish. Otherwise, it would be a three star. The catfish had a ton of flavor and needed nothing for a frozen, breaded, deep fried catfish filet. The hushpuppies were bland, the fries were slightly undercooked and needed salt. My friend had a burger which appeared to be good. Would I go back? Yes, I would.

I had called ahead and asked when a good time on Saturday to arrive for a group our size. They shared that breakfast was the busiest time but if we arrived after 11:30 we shouldn't have any problem. These folks know their business, they were spot on! We pulled a few tables together. Our server was extraordinarily patient as our group trickled in arriving in King from Winston-Salem. I think she was very much surprised when 10 out of the 12 us ordered hot dog plates. We started with an order of buffalo chips and they were very much enjoyed along with the ranch they were served with. I think we all enjoyed our hot dogs (mine with chili, mustard, and onions, was great). We had a variety of sides and people spoke highly of the fried okra, banana pudding, sweet potato casserole, and fries. I'd definitely return to P.B. Clarks!

When we walked in for dinner it was crowded so we sat at the bar and ate our dinner. As it turned out this was the place to be. The bartender is quite good at his craft. It was fun to see him make and Old Fashioned with the fanfare of the smoked drink under glass. Then someone ordered a cherry Manhatten with a smokey bubble in the glass which popped when presented. I was impressed as I had never seen that technique before. I'm totally ordering again next time I come! Behind me was a long table and on top shooting flames enclosed in a long glass fireplace. Really quite a centerpiece with people dining around each side of it. I wanna bring my friends and sit in front of it, so cool! I ordered a petite filet that was tender and delicious, just the right size when you don't want a huge meal. I ordered a grilled romaine stock as a side. It was better than Ive had in the past. Lightly oiled and grilled not charred. I ordered a baked potato as my side to go w my filet. Quite pleased w my choices. The environment is cozy and the staff and guests are friendly. So make sure you arrive a few minutes early for your reservation just for parking sake. The space, however, is beautiful inside. Very roomy and dark, romantic vibes. I also love the little fireplace along the long table in the front. Our service was also exceptional. Our waiter made great recommendations and was very accommodating. Isaac was a true gem. The food was really outstanding for a steakhouse in little ol King. We started with bread service but they served it with cold butter which we all know won't spread well. Easy enough fix. The pot roast nachos could have used more cheese, namely a melty cheese but the roast was cooked expertly. So tender and juicy. The rest of our group thought the calamari was overcooked but I didn't mind it. The crab dip was my favorite app, perfect in every way. My ribeye with Mac and cheese and collard greens was superb. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The Mac and cheese was creamy and the collards had a kick to it that I enjoyed. I liked the brownie dessert but it wasn't anything special. My blood orange margarita was also very good. Overall I highly recommend The Mercantile if you want to eat somewhere off the beaten path. I can't wait to bring my husband back for date night!
