The worst DQ in America - for the 10th consecutive year! It's hard to imagine where they find the people who work there. How is *every* employee dirty, disheveled, and appear to be on the second day of a methadone detox? The odds are staggering. The law of averages would suggest that at least one employee would not have a permanent 1000 yard stare, or would know how to groom themselves. This DQ really is a statistical oddity. Look, you've gotta be nuts to order hot food at any DQ, let alone this one in Clinton. I figure if you're starving, you'd at least consider hitting a soup kitchen before DQ, but some are less risk-adverse than me. My problem is the ice cream. It's SOFT SERVE! They don't make it in house or anything. It's not like there is a pastry chef who comes in at 6 AM and is painstakingly making custard, checking the flavor, and adding all of the special ingredients to make sure it's just right. The ex-convicts working there have two very important steps: step one - pull the bag of soft serve ice cream from the DQ factory out of the freezer. Step two: open the bag and pour it into the soft serve machine. That's it. There's nothing more to it. They can't seem to do that correctly. The thing that prompted me to write, the review was when I went to order an ice cream cake for my kid. One of the filthy scoundrels behind the counter obviously saw me come in. She then stood there like a statue, complete with 1000 yard stare, and remained completely silent. I made direct eye contact with her, and we stared each other down, both of us refusing to speak. While I lost that little game of chicken, because I just wanted to get the thing ordered so I could leave. So I blinked first and ordered my ice cream cake. I returned two days later to pick up my ice cream cake, and came face-to-face with a different woman at the counter. Have no fear, dear reader, she had the same 1000 yard stare and also refused to speak. When I stated my ice cream cake business to her, she wordlessly sauntered off, never to return. After about 10 minutes of reconsidering my life choices that brought me to this Dairy Queen in Clinton, Missouri, I was awakened from my reverie by yet, if you can believe it, another disheveled worker, who screamed "CAKE!" I made eye contact with this third employee who held my gaze for about two seconds before wordlessly turning around and walking away. She never even asked if I paid for it. As I was leaving, I said to the only other customer in the building " this is the worst Dairy Queen in America." he looked at me, and said "yeah." It's safe to say I'll never go back. I am looking forward to the DQ manager's reply to this review. I hope that they copy and paste the same non-apology response that they put on every bad review. Our sundaes were made before the food so the sundaes were of course melted by the time the food was ready. Pitiful food. Burger was horrible , instead of no mustard my husband got extra mustard. He asked them to remake the sundaes ( the order was carry out) they said they couldn't because they were too busy. I guess my grand daughters food is okay I haven't heard from her yet. My sister drank her hot fudge sundae and said it wasn't too bad despite being melted. My blizzard is soupy but palatable. My husband threw his burger in the trash. What a waste. Never again. It was about 9 pm when we pulled up to this place. When we got to the drive through the lady was not very kind. After sitting at the window for a little bit we hear her talk about other customers coming up in a very rude manner. I have never felt so out of place and we weren't even in the store. employees were very passive agressive, weren't welcoming at all. floors and tables were sticky and gross. had to wait a crazy long time for an order of fries. orders weren't done correctly and they got mad when we told them they had duplicated them. very disappointed and will not be coming back. read more

This is the worst Dairy Queen in the history of Dairy Queen. Service is horrifically slow and the food isn't good.

Waited 25 minutes in the drive through today. I finally get to the drive window the little girl takes my payment and leaves me waiting another 5 minutes. I turn on some music during my wait; mind you I don't have a system in my car. The manager comes out and try's to scold me about having my music too loud and it's hurting the cashiers ears. So I turned it down and apologized. She then continues to scold me about the music...so I told her I was bidding my time for sitting here for 25 minutes waiting on 3 milk shakes. Needless to say I won't be back. And I hope that she takes my advice to go f$&@ herself :). read more

Worst tasting ice cream. Was not DQ great tasting, I ordered a peanut buster parfait, it was ice milk as hard as my head, not the creamy smooth u expect from DQ. Questioned the girl at the drive thru, and all she had to say was it's the kind they have. Even the peanuts were little peanut bits not the halved Spanish peanuts and the hot fudge was just generic chocolate syrup. First time I have ever not finished ice cream. Stopped here for lunch on the way back from Camdenton and it was awful. Walked in and apparently there was a water leak along the front of the store and there was standing water by the wall. Someone had mopped but it was still slick and sticky and just disgusting. The young lady working the front was unfriendly as well. The condition of the floor and water leak needs to be corrected ASAP before they get sued. read more

I also went in with low expectations with previous reviews, but was very pleasantly surprised with fast and friendly service, and the manager was very polite and courteous. The food tastes old. They got our order totally wrong. The girl in the drive thru was very rude.

We pulled up to a very busy line in the drive through, and the car in front of us pulled into a parking spot and went inside to order because the drive through was taking too long. The worker said she would take our order when she could and we waited at least 5 minutes to get our order taken. We then pulled to the window and saw that 3 older workers were standing behind the building having a smoke. They were very busy talking amongst themselves, apparently too busy to hear their coworker on the intercom like everybody else did. Very unsatisfied with the fact half of the staff in the restaurant were taking a smoke break at what seemed to be the busiest time of the day. Very very unsatisfactory service. The worker in the window made our drinks great and fast, but she shouldn't have been the only one taking and making the orders. The sign out front states "New Management" but maybe you should reevaluate who you promote next time. read more

This has got to be the worst experience I have ever had. Actually made a trip through the drive through on a friday night around 7pm. The speaker was so loud it blew us out of the car, ordered a chicken strip kids meal after waiting at the speaker for over 5 min. Advanced to the window, that was open. I could have crawled through the window, stolen the register and left before they were any where to be seen. Whole visit took over twenty minutes. Drove from there to pizza glen across street and had pizza ordered and delivered to table in less than the drive through trip. On Sunday coming back through, I needed some more punishment. So went inside. Line was 6 deep to order, everybody was waiting on food. No ice in the drink machine, lid was off. Asked for ice to be filled. Food took about 10 mins, burgers had unmelted cheese, ice cream was melted in cup before we had our meals. Still no ice. Wife rummaged through cabinets to find straws at drink station. Food was basically cold except for the fries. Womens restroom was dirty, with no toilet paper. Honestly, this place won't be open in a month if I had to guess. People were walking out the door pissed off before they could order. Lucky them!! Doesnt deserve the one star!! read more

Food cooked to order. It's Dairy Queen just as you'd expect. Good selection, Some friendly workers and good made to order food. It will take longer to get your order as they make each order as you place it. I think us locals are used to this. Also they don't always make your ice cream the way the picture shows. For example order a mocha moo-latte and they will never put the whipped cream and chocolate on top even if you ask. No idea why. read more

We just got desserts for the whole crew at Dairy Queen on Rives in Clinton. I was sceptical, because I haven't eaten at any DQ in 20 years. Some places have bad days, this place is terrible almost all the time. Other than the usual terribly slow service, my biggest complaint of all is the women's bathroom. It smells worse and worse each time I come here like its never cleaned. There are some good workers, but most of the time it's people who act like they don't want to be here. On more than one occasion I've not been acknowledged at all at the front counter and driven off from the drive thru due to the 20+ minute wait time. The only reason I come here is because it's the closest food place near my work. The food isn't awful for what it is, but the workers and cleanliness need serious work. read more

we stopped at dq for lunch and we had the best experience. the little girl at the counter was smiling and had a can do attitude like she was willing to assist us not like most fast food places that have the dont bother me attitude. the food was good the drinks were good the ice cream was good. the whole staff there had a good attitude and was willing and wanted to serve everyone who came in. read more
