Just wanted to give a shout out to this particular Dairy Queen . I've been here at least 40+ times since they opened a couple of years ago ,and I can say I've never had a bad experience. Is zero stars an option??? Not shocking at all to see this location has 2 stars!!! Every trip to the Dairy Queen in Smyrna, TN is a complete DISAPPOINTMENT. The only thing consistent with this location is they're constantly out of SOMETHING. Fed up. I have 4 kids and try to treat them to something like this once a week. So the last two times are worth mentioning. Downloaded the app last week and ordered everything we wanted. But of course, as we pull into the drive through, I even told my daughter..."watch...they're going to tell me something I ordered is unavailable." Sure enough - sorry, we don't have the chocolate ice cream you wanted for your sundae. I replied with "of course you are"...I guess I'll take the vanilla icecream since it's the only option. Go again tonight...my daughter wanted the chocolate brownie extreme blizzard. Not shocking...the employee tells me, sorry we're out. My husband wanted the royal ultimate chocolate blizzard...again, I'm told sorry we're out. THEN not to mention....why on earth would you turn the lights off outside where it looks like you're closed????? Noone can see the menu. This place is a total joke. Will absolutely not be back again. Service was horrible. The poor person working the front counter was obviously new and was struggling. NONE of the other workers helped her they just stood there and watched her struggle. This location does not deserve to be in business and we are moving all events and school outings to Andy's You can see from everyone else just avoid this location. 2nd time we tried gettting a quick prepay pick up there they were standing there not moving going oh we didn't make the peanut buster parfait well we forgot to take care of the hot fudge. Then handed us a cup of milk that was supposed to be our blizzard. They laziest don't care employees creating no orders, wrong orders, and don't care responses. I'd feel sorry for the owners but staring at 1star and humiliating reviews all year clearly doesn't motivate them either. Now cue where the business manager goes "so sorry here comes my canned response as I do nothing to train or improve the store we don't care at all oops I mean your happiness and order accuracy is important to us... lol don't even post it below don't walk into the trap - it's embarrassing how bad these kids are and don't care - you work harder copying canned responses then training or managing your employees. Terrible service. I waited over 30 minutes for two orders of three-piece tenders with fries. Only to then find out that they hadn't even placed my order. Had to wait an additional 15 to 20 minutes for them to finally prepare the meal. And it's not like the place was busy because we were the only three guest in the restaurant. Ambience as expected. Sundays were tasty, tenders were good fries were soggy. All in all this Dairy Queen gives a new meaning to fast food, and that is SLOW-FOOD, & slow service. read more

For starters, this location opens up whenever the manager arrives. Sometimes it's 10am, 10:30am or 11am. The last time I was here an employ who stated she recently put in her 2 week notice had nothing but horrible things to say about the manager. The manager really needs to improve her attitude so she can get some employs to stick around. She is currently taking orders, cooking the food, making drinks and working the register. I understand it's frustrating but it really shows in her interactions with the customers. She's rude with me because obviously she didn't expect customers today. we have given this location a couple of tries and it's been disappointing. No one acknowledges you when you walk in and takes forever to get your order while the staff stand around in the back and no one knows what the other is doing. We ordered 4 blizzards and one was made then as it sat melting they worked on another order then made the next and by the time we got our full order half of the blizzards were melted. This review is hopefully something they can use to streamline their service and maybe teach some customer service etiquette to their young staff. read more

My fiancée and I go to this Dairy Queen quite often as we love their ice cream however we placed mobile orders while already in the lobby and when we got the notifications our orders were done we went to collect them. When we made it to the register we told the woman working we had both placed mobile orders and gave her the names. She then proceeded to VERY rudely say needed the last names as well which we hadn't been asked before but is understandable. Once we gave her the full names she proceeded to hand me the first bag and go get our ice cream. She threw a completely unwrapped spoon on the incredibly sticky counter top and then slammed my ice cream cup down as well. She handed my fiancée our second bag and the cups for our combs. After we tried to make our drinks we found there was no ice available in the lobby so we asked the same woman to fill our cups up to which she informed us there was no ice in the entire store. During this entire process she was nothing but rude and gave the impression she absolutely hated her jobs and the customers she was serving. All and all we will be going to Murfreesboro for our ice cream from now on which is sad considering how close we live to this store. My family has been going here for years. Recently, every time I go they say they are out of chocolate ice cream. This last visit, I've made the decision not to continue going there. Again, they said they were out of chocolate ice cream! My daughter wanted to try the new Superman blizzard & they were out of cookie dough to make it. I would rather give my money to someone else instead of settling for something I didn't really want. Just don't place a mobile order. It took over 30 mins for 3 kids meals. Someone placed a counter order after I had already been there for 20 mins and got their food. They hadn't even started on the mobile order. I tried to get a refund but couldn't because it was a mobile order. The key holder was nice enough to make it herself and apologized. read more

I always get the shrimp basket and a medium plain chocolate ice cream, was never a problem until tonight. Was told that I could not get just plain chocolate ice cream, and that I had to get a blizzard. On three different occasions it's always something different. Terrible experience. Placed a mobile order 45 minutes before store closed. Went to pick it up and no one came to the window. We drove around the store, tried to go in, honked at the window. Went inside, nobody was there, it looked like the only two or three staff were there, they were extremely nice, the dining room area was a mess, several tables needed cleaning, floor needed to be swept, and was extremely slippery, all I can say is the food was good, and the people were nice, use the drive-through. read more

I LOVE this Dairy Queen! I always go in and sit down for a bite to eat, and the employees are so cheerful and helpful. Sometimes they're short staffed during the day, so cut them some slack. I love Dairy Queen and I hadn't had it in a while and said What that heck I am craving those crispy delicious fries. My husband and I pulled up and there was no line, and hardly any cars in the parking lot. We placed our orders, we just got burgers and fries. The wait was very long and I thought it would be worth said wait. We received the food and waited a minute or two before digging in. I went through the drive through to order a sundae with extra pecans of which I was charged for. I get to the window and there's only a few on my sundae. I ask for more and the manager tells the employee of which was a teenager that they had already put too many on the sundae. I offered to pay for the extra of which I had already paid for. This really upset me especially looking at the sundae knowing that there were about 5 pecans on it. Looks like a lot of people have had issues with the drive thru here. I've been here a couple times. The first time they made an error on my burger. I ordered the 1/4 pound burger & was charged for that but received the 1/2 burger, so I guess that was a win for me. The wait time is always a little long if there is many cars in the line. The last time I was there I ordered the cotton candy blizzard (seriously my fav, I'm so glad they brought it back). I was happy that there was only about 3/4 of an inch of vanilla ice cream at the bottom of the cup. Usually it's a lot more. read more

I go to DQ's everywhere. I love their Reese's Blizzards. I just went here and ordered one. When I got it it appeared to only have ice cream in the cup. I showed it to the drive-thru attendant and she said she would take care of it. When it came back it was a different, older lady (manager?). She handed it to me and said "Here ya go". I looked at it. It had some flecks of Reese's (and I mean FLECKS) at the top.. I figured it hadn't been mixed well and was probably more on the way to the bottom. WRONG! There was less than a teaspoon of any appearance of Reese's in the cup, just pinhead flecks. As well the cup (large) was only filled to about 1 inch of the top. Never going back here. This DQ is HORRIBLE. We will never be going back. I should have given zero stars, but I gave it 1 star since the burger tasted decent (the half that was eaten...We were afraid to finish the rest). First, the place is disgusting. Trash everywhere, sticky floors, nasty bathrooms, filthy countertops. Just GROSS. Second, the cashier was chewing on his fingers the entire time and spitting out his nails everywhere. Third, the girl who brought our ice cream to us was COVERED in grease, ice cream and who knows what else. It was all over her arms and she kept wiping her sweaty forehead with them. Our ice creams were melty and the flavors/sizes were wrong. And Lastly, the manager decided to yell at and scold his employees right in front of everyone in the store while we were trying to order. We later called the manager to complain about our experience in attempts to help out his store and all we got were excuses. He was very defensive and made comments like "well, you try working with these kinds of employees" and "I don't have enough good workers to do that." The service at this Dairy Queen is horrendous. If you decide to go into the store, prepare to be disappointed. The employees are too busy chatting with each other or texting on their phones to even acknowledge the fact that someone who wants to spend money is in their restaurant. The drive through is always backed up...probably because the employees are too busy talking to each other to do actual work. Management is non-existent or just plain incompetent.
