This airport has to be one of the worst in the world! I have had a villa in the area for 15 years and, despite building a new terminal, nothing has improved. It's utrageously expensive, dingey and always an unpleasant experience. Tonight though, the toilets were an utter disgrace. No hand towels or driers, no toilet paper, dirty and the electronic pad to offer comments wasn't working! I like to support Turkiye but really... tonight... it was a total embarrassment! read more
Mediocre airport but very convenient to reach nearby resort areas such as Sarigerme, Gocek, Fethiye, Marmaris, Kaunos, and to a certain limit also Datca peninsula. My first time at this airport was almost 25 years ago and it was a tiny, terrible airport. Then it was renewed and operated by a private company. Nowadays new expansion works are underway and the new terminal will be opened in 2018. I'm sure it will be much better airport then. At the moment there are domestic and international flights. Strangely security is tighter than other airports in Turkey. The A/C at the domestic terminal doesn't work well, at least in October 2016. There are very few cafeterias at the domestic area. I'm not sure about the international terminal because I've never used it. read more

Whenever I first stepped into Dalaman Airport, my immediate thought was "Oh man, this is bleak." And as I sit in the departure gate waiting to board the flight back to Newcastle, it is still gloomy, depressing and bleak. For some reason, you are forced into a security check as soon as you walk through the door, which is very different to the UK airports that I'm used to. After this security check, you are brought into the main hall with no signage telling you where the check in area is. We eventually found it, and there was a massive queue stretching round through the airport. We entered the queue at 3:40 and finally made our way through the next security check at 4:15! They might as well have had sloths running the airport because of how sluggish everything was. Once you pass the second security check, there is a number of Duty Free shops, a few fast food outlets and 2 coffee shops. We only bought 3 bottles of water and it came up to 13.50 Turkish Lira! Ridiculous prices. There was a sign up by McDonald's that said they don't choose the prices and that DLM Airport management do. Greedy cheapskates. There is very poor signage for the departure gates and we had to ask a Thomson rep where to go, because we had no clue. Once we found our gate, we ended up passing it as the entrance was concealed with metal bars! The entire airport is extremely dated. It looks very modern from the outside but it is basically a cross between a Turkish prison/multi-storey car park/warehouse/hangar inside. In the toilets, they have tried to make the sink area look nice with the lighting around the mirrors and paper towel holders built into a wall but the grid ceilings and grey brick walls make them look horrid. This place even makes Edinburgh Airport look luxurious! At least in Edinburgh, SOME of the staff are nice but here they were all miserable and slow, with no eye contact or smiles. It is only the international terminal which is so dreadful. From pictures I've seen, the domestic terminal looks bright, clean and spacious compared to the horrid car park of the international area. Unbelievable how they must do things like this. read more
Unfortunately one of the worst and, most expensive, airports I have ever been through. Thank goodness it was just a quick arrival platform. However, the return journey was horrendous. Everything, once through security was so expensive, even WATER. read more

A growing airport for the Anatolia region. Would you believe there was more queueing here than at Gatwick? Security controls to enter the building, usual check-in queue, then a queue to get through passport control, more security check controls to get to the boarding gate and queues to get on the actual plane. Not a barrel of laughs. The shops are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. The Pizza Hut Express (absolutely not to be confused with Pizza Express) offered pizzas for 40 Lira a throw. That's over £16 for what I would call a medium sized pizza. Small coke was 8.5 lira - over £3 for a teeny tiny cup of cola. Atrocious. Also, everything souveniry was well over-priced too. You expect it, to a certain extent, but I felt it was beyond what you'd expect with a huge mark up from what you'd pay, even in the more expensive shops, outside of the airport. It did have a redeeming feature, and that was that the lighting was a nice departure (pun intended) from your usual unforgiving airport flourescent glare. It's also relatively easy to get around as it's quite small. read more

A good clean airport with lots of shops and duty free area. Speedy check in, visa and passport control. However, I would recommend any travellers on their journey departing from Dalaman to take some food with them if they think they or any children are going to want something to eat. Airport food is usually more expensive than normal. But the prices were staggeringly expensive. The departure gates are in an enclosed space with a further security check. There was enough room for all the passengers. We had an evening flight and didn't try to get out and didn't see anyone else go out and come back in so Im unsure if you would be able to do this or not. But all in all a nice airport. read more

The new and improved dalaman Airport is a much better airport. There is more room to check in and it seems to be a faster system. The staff are helpful and friendly. The only downside is that the prices in the airport are very expensive, snacks ect. Take your own. There are shops in the airport which are good, and the duty free is cheap. The old terminal is now used for domestic flights, it is much quieter inside the airport now. I flew from dalaman to Istanbul and found the old terminal much quieter now, which made a difference to what it used to be like. read more

Food was silly expensive compared to the region. Coffee and a sandwich was $9 when its $2 in the area. Airport was poorly designed in the domestic terminal at least making it a little confusing finding your boarding gate. read more

Flew into this airport to go on a cruise from Marmaris, as I was going on a cruise we didn't have to pay the £10 each visa entry, forms where issued on the plane. Other than the passport control Que arrivals was fairly quick. Departing was a different story, be prepared to que for que for a que. As other reviews have stated, food & drink is very expensive. The terminal building isn't big but does well to handle the amount of people passing through it's doors. read more

Do yourself a favour & stock up in resort with drinks & snacks. DON'T pay these outrageous prices. £4 for the smallest bottle of water (500ml) is totally outrageous. We always stick a few large bottles of water in the freezer - just in case we end up with a delay. It's come in handy a few times. Once we had a delay of 19hrs - we were extremely grateful we'd planned ahead. It might be a pain to carry extra drinks etc. but it could save you a fortune. We give the unopened bottles away to poor people who are delayed to save them spending a fortune on MUCH needed drinks in the very hot summertime weather. The A/C in the airport sometimes also leaves a lot to be desired - a ploy to get you to buy drinks?? The Turkish cuisine place that was more reasonably priced has now closed, leaving you with no place that is reasonably priced. Be aware & plan ahead. If you thought our airports here were overpriced then after visiting Dalaman you'll think they are reasonable. read more

This newly extended airport is absolutaly fantastic. There are never huge queues and the staff are very helpful. The restaurants are very expensive so i would recommend that you take some food items with you. The duty free which is available is great with a huge selection of various items, cigarettes been very cheap, but beaware only 200 cigarettes per person is allowed back in to the UK. Becareful you dont pack you suitcases over the allowance that you have as if they are overweight you either pay the bill or you open your case and empty items that you dont wish to take. A nice airport with nice places to have a browse around while you are waiting, can be busy at certain times of the year. read more

The airport was fairly big and clean. the queueing system was ok, but lack of seats to be found in the airport for waiting. YOu have to go through two sets of security scanners, one to get into the departure area and one to get to your gate - so two lots of queues. Food and drink are expensive, so take your own. supprisingly you CAN take drinks through security and onto the plane, unlike in the UK. They are very hot on going over your luggage allowance, i was 2 kg over and got charged! read more

Hierfür gibt's lediglich den Pflichtstern read more
