I absolutely love this place ! I recommend the chopped brisket or the chicken. It really gives off a nice old time diner vibe and I love it!

My husband and I were in the mood for bbq and his coworkers mentioned Dales being worth a try. The restaurant had a very fun environment. There was lots of signs, art, and memorabilia on the walls. I love looking at this kind of stuff! Nostalgia is awesome! They were helpful and it's easy to order. There's a counter with signs and food on display to entice you. My husband and I both got the 2 meat meal. It came with 2 sides and a piece of bread. I opted for the turkey breast and sliced brisket. I wanted corn nuggets but they were out. Maybe next time? The okra was a decent second choice. It was crunchy and fresh. The mac and cheese was very creamy but could have been a little more flavorful. The meats were both very good. The turkey was perfect! It was very moist with nice smoky flavor. The brisket was nice. I've had better but also had worse. They offered both hot and regular bbq sauce. They were excellent! I tried my husband ribs. They were tender and fall off the bone. They had peach cobbler and pecan pi for dessert. I was interested in the pie but it wasn't made in house so I decided not to try it. These are supposed to be ribs? I was ready to get the ribs, they are hands down one of the best ribs in OKC. FOOD DREAM SHATTERED When i got home, opened the box with excitement...and saw those ribs my rumbling stomach was even louder because the smell was... AAHHHHmazing. Smelling delicious aroma of ribs and not being able to eat it made me and my belly very sad. Lesson...Should have checked them before I left......But I have never had to. No nonsense BBQ Dales is an unassuming spot in a strip mall. It is large enough to accommodate a few families but small enough that you don't have to ask anyone where anything is. Also tax is included so you don't have to do mental gymnastics to figure anything out. Serious kudos for including the tax. The food is good. Brisket tender and flavorful. Prices reasonable. Options clear and smell intoxicating. One of those places when you walk in the door and see the counter by the back wall with all the food and the menu right there. Bonus points for the large restroom sign to the left of the counter. Dales has the standard array that most BBQ joints in Oklahoma have. They've got the family packs, the meats, the sandwiches, beef, pork, poultry, sides and sweets. Nothing complicated or unclear about the menu. We got 2x 1lb chopped brisket with 5 buns for $15 a lb. We added a couple of sides. Okra and mac & cheese. Within minutes our order was ready. Dales is the kind of places that has everything prepped and ready to go. No fuss. Order, pay and get your food. I like that. When we arrived at our destination we were initially shocked to see 3 cups and 2 bags of buns. We opened the cups containing brisket and Mac and cheese. An uncommon packing method but it was very effective for transportation on the interstate and down some bumpy country roads. Basically it kept the food warm and nothing spilled. I'm impressed at the ingenuity. The chopped brisket - almost a shredded brisket. Tender, tasty and smells great. 100% I will be back to get this again. I will try other meats from Dales. Let me be clear at a BBQ joint 1 thing matters and that is the meat. Everything else could be from the frozen section at Costco and I'd still come back just to order the meat. That being said the sides are pretty good. The okra - crispy with the faintest hint of a spicy pepper in the batter. Almost as if a pepper walked by while the batter was being made, said hello and realized it was not needed for this crispy okra. The mac and cheese - creamy and cheesy. Pretty standard mac and cheese. Noodles were cooked well and the cheese quality on point. But flavor wise it was missing something. Maybe a sharper cheese or maybe some bread crumbs would kick it up a notch. That being said it was still pretty good. The buns - they exist and hold food together. Standard basic while bread hamburger buns. They do the job well because they don't take away from the meat at all. Some places give you fancy flavorful bread. Those places don't focus on what matters with bbq and that is the meat. I assume some person named Dale founded this place. Dale did well. The restaurant serves it purpose and creates a positive hassle free consumer experience. More places need to be ran with this type of consumer optimization. By focusing on making it easy to order food and focusing on making good food Dales has earned a repeat customer and a my most wordy of recommendations. read more

The last 2 times i have visited Dale's the food has not been good. I've ordered a sliced brisket sandwich each time. The most recent time I received a chopped up mess of what was leftover of a brisket that was used for other sandwiches along with whatever crumbs and scraps that were on the cutting board from the customers before me. Used to go to Dales while I went to westmoore 2004-2006 3-4 times a week. Used to be great. So sad to see the meet is dry. Baby portions. I ordered a 2 meat dinner that came with a small dry rib and a couple pieces of really dry brisket. For almost 20.00 it's very difficult to shop local anymore. Used to be proud of this place. Close by so come here when I don't want to drive far. Food quality is decent for a barbecue sandwich and sausage. I don't think the sides, especially potato salad, are home aid. Tastes like it came out of a grocery store carton. The owner seems a bit stingy when it comes to pricing versus portions. I watch the help really watch the scales and spoon sizes so sure the owner is micro managing the process. The sauce is decent and like the smoked baked potatoes. The tea is awful which is too bad for a barbecue place. It's watered down and not sweet at all. Prices are fare but not a great deal by no means. read more

Get the ribs!! Beware they're not the teeny ribs with no char from a chain BBQ establishment, they're the real deal and will have you hooked. I was in the area with colleagues for training and at lunch time we needed a quick sit down but craved something tasty. Dale's was perfect and it was a comfortable setting. Besides the ribs, also try the perfectly sweet and crunchy corn nuggets made to order. Our table had two other sides and I tried both the baked beans and the mac n cheese. Neither are unique or phenomenal but good flavor and choices. Undoubtedly my only focus was devouring the delicious ribs. The fries and potato salad were popular items observed on other trays. Lastly, their staff was super friendly and helpful when answering my questions. They were kindly accommodating by writing out an itemized receipt and equipping us with take out containers. Having driven by several times (live in the area) and wondered how good it might be. So this night it was time to try it out. The place was empty as we pulled in. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Decided on food after looking at the big billboard menu. 3 meat combo to split. Went ribs, pulled pork, sausage. Okra, baked beans and added onion rings. The portion size was huge and they also have a pickle/onion/pepper station. The hot BBQ sauce is legit! The service was super awesome and the portion was large....the prices were very affordable... However the BBQ in my perspective is just ok. (I was raised On KC BBQ- I feel that I know BBQ pretty well) Don't get me wrong I ate what I was portioned.... however the tummy ache (Grrrrrrr) later had me reaching for my phone to write this review. I have an iron stomach and this feeling was instant from the time I got home. It could just have been a fluke coincidence.. however it is what it is. We usually get an order to go about twice a week. Last time, the 1lb chopped brisket seemed smaller than normal. I didn't worry about it. Today, the 1lb chopped brisket wasn't even in a box, but a cup. Got home and it was about 12oz, or 3/4 of a pound. I called them and was hung up on. Sad, because I really liked this place. read more

And the smoked corn on the cob had me just about drooling The customer service here was very personable and the owner, Dewey even came out to our table to talk to us and tell us the story of the business. This place was total trash. I ordered the 3 meat and I got 1 rib end a small slice of ham and a ice cream scoop of chopped brisket. For a grown man I was laughing I thought I was eating off the child's menu. The rib was all fat and bone the ham was so dry u couldn't swallow it and last the scoop of chopped brisket looked like canned dog food and it tasted sour. And I paid $17.50 for it. I told the staff that I was not happy with the food and the very small amount you get for the money. And they acted like they didn't care. Solid BBQ joint on the corner of 119th and S. Western. My son and I hit up Dale's on a Thursday night around 6:00. It never got busy, but there was a steady stream of people both dining in and carrying out while we ate. My boy (4.5 years old) had a small turkey sandwich, green beans, and pinto beans. He ate the complete sandwich, which is saying something for him. Didn't finish the green beans or pinto beans, but he ate good amounts of both. Anytime I can find a place he likes I'll take advantage of that. I had the three meat combo with ribs, hot links, and turkey. On the side I went with baked beans and mac n cheese. The baked beans were the most disappointing of the bunch. It's not that they were bad, because they're not. But, they are the most generic of baked beans you can get at a BBQ place. Again, good, but I've had these same beans at over a dozen places in my life. The mac n cheese was solid, but not noteworthy. Of the meats, the ribs were far and away the winner. You get 2 large ribs with the dinner. They were juicy, had an easy pull off the bone, but weren't completely falling off. Nice spice rub that was enhanced with hot BBQ sauce. I'd get these again. My turkey was the loser. I must have had the end, because my portion of turkey was dry and stringy, but my son's wasn't. Given the quality of the rest of the meal, I'm surprised Dale's let turkey as dry as mine be served. But, they did. I know the turkey can be better, the turkey on my son's plate was. The hot links are typical. You get 2, which was a nice surprise. Also, they had a little bit of crispiness to the skin, which I love. Dale's has a well appointed onion/pepper/pickle bar. Raw pickles and onions are fantastic with BBQ. The joint was very clean, including the restroom. As we were leaving, I noticed an employee immediately walk out from behind the counter to clean our table. I'll return to try some other meats, as well as the fried okra. I imagine if I get all good product I'll be able to write an update and bump Dale's to 4 stars. The potential is certainly there. read more

I want to start by saying the food was really good!! The customer service was non-existent. You place your order at the front counter and pay at the end of the counter when they hand you your food. Saturday, Feb 4th, 2023, about 1:30 pm I visited Dale's BBQ House on S Western. I placed my order for 2 dinners and then decided to order a small styro cup of their peach cobbler also. The youngish woman helping me was waiting for my fried okra side to finish frying before putting the cobbler in the bag (she told me). I stood out of the way & waited as others ordered & she brought my bag of food around the counter to me when it was ready. We enjoyed our food & then I realized I didn't get my peach cobbler. I called Dale's & explained I'd like to pick up my cobbler in a bit & the man I talked to said "okay". When I went to get it about an hour or more later, I explained why I was there because it was different employees. A woman came into view & was immediately combative, saying "Who did you talk to?" I explained I didn't get a name & she said "Prove it!!" I said I have your phone number in my phone where I called it & went out the door to get my phone. When I touched their number on my phone, their phone began to ring behind the counter. She yelled at me to get out over & over!! I said, "You can't treat customers like this!" She continued to scream at me to get out now or she'd make me very sorry!! I left without my peach cobbler (or a refund) and was so humiliated to be treated so badly & in a threatening manner. Honestly, when I first walked in here I didn't know what to expect but I'm glad I gave it a try, some of the better bbq I've had around here (good bbq is so subjective). Not only have they cut their portion sizes, and not their price, but they vastly overcharged me for turkey and ham for Thanksgiving. I got there, and they charged 90 bucks for 5 lbs. total. Partially my fault. I should have agreed on a price at time of order. I trusted them to charge a decent price. I paid it because it was the day before Thanksgiving, and I had no choice. Dale's is the type of place that a gnarly food junkie like myself craves all the time. You see, I live in Central Massachusetts. I can't get some true BBQ up here. I have friends that live in OKC, and I was introduced to Dale's sorta Texas style BBQ a few years back and now I crave Dale's BBQ all the dang time. The meats are smoked to perfection. the brisket had that smoke ring like proper BBQ should. The pulled pork is juicy, and brisket is juicy, and the ribs are juicy. Ya'll know what I'm trying to get at? Dale's BBQ House is in a strip mall, with cafeteria style service and the BBQ is on point. Im not huge on sides, but the fried okra is a nice side, along with the mac and cheese. I was in OKC 2 weeks ago for a wedding, and we went to Dale's twice for lunch over our 5 day stay. This is legit, no frills, BBQ as it was intended to be. What I ordered: I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of fries and mac n' cheese. The Good: The meat is outstanding. You know a BBQ place is legit when you can smell the meat when you first walk in. Their fries are curly fries seasoned very well. My friends who were with me all loved what they got as well (one got chopped brisket, another pulled pork). The Bad: I paid with Apple pay. The person ringing me up griped about the fees associated with them accepting Apple pay. Either do not accept the source of payment, or build the cost of accepting that payment into your prices. Great food. Good price. The sliced brisket is tender and juicy. Their ham is quite good. The sauce is pretty typical of most smoke house's. The prep area is clean and staff is always helpful and genuinely helpful. This place is only second to Leo's which is considered the best in Oklahoma. I've been a repeat customer to Dales since we moved here in 2016. The food is always delicious, the price is fantastic (a family meal for $11? Perfection.), and their Mac and cheese is what people crave. We've always been greeted with friendly faces and a few jokes for my kids. You get a decent amount of food for the price, and when you're feeding a group, it's perfect. It recently onlyy cost me $50 for 2 lbs of meat, 4 large sides, a small side, and a drink.
