I visited this place twice this week and I've it! The service is fast, food is delicious and fresh!! I loved their hot dog, reminded me of a Dodger dog from Los Angeles!! The French fries Are crispy crunchy deliciousness! Their prices Are very reasonable, and worth the price for the yummy food!! We just moved here and the place seemed like it has some cool history. 1. Menu has WAY too many items on it to possibly have any quality control. They don't have a drive through, just a drive up window, which is awkward. The wait was about 20 min. 2. My order: Double cheeseburger and fries. The cheeseburger was dry and looked like they resold me a big Mac left out for a day. Tasted awful. Buns were stale and broke apart easily, meat patties were dry and stiff... Not warm. Cheese was Kraft style American slices, not melted at all. Fries were soggy and disgusting. Fry sauce was thick and not proportionately mixed (too much mayonnaise) 3. Kids orders: Chicken Nuggets, Corn Dog and ice cream. The Nuggets looked like they were out of the box from the grocery store and heated up in the microwave... Since they were soggy inside I wouldn't let my kids eat them. The corn dog was normal. The ice cream was normal vanilla soft serve. Overall this place seems to be living off its past and Ice Cream sales. My advice, organize/clean the interior better, pay the money for a drive through system (you have the space) SIMPLIFY your food menu. Stop trying to offer everything for everyone. You should seriously consider serving a staple of 7-10 food items only. That way you can focus on keeping food served fresh and not soggy garbage out of the microwave. Doing that and having your ice cream, you'd probably double your revenue. Update your look... Menu's, signage, clean the exterior a bit... The place looks old, dingy and stale. For the Payson area this is the BEST fast food for sure! I hate getting super greasy fried food and this place manages to keep it to a minimum. Five stars for the lime ice cream I remember as a kid. I grew up in Payson and honestly I've never tried the actual food here because I was always more health-conscious, but I did love my sweets. I have fond memories of stopping here on summer days with my mama to get lime ice cream, which was so yummy, but it seemed that they only served it at a certain time in the summer or something back then, because I remember that we would check by every so often to see if they had it or not, and sometimes they didn't. Although, I believe they have it year round now, because I visited just a couple of days ago with my husband on a spontaneous trip to Utah to visit family, and they had it! They also do what they call a Lime Cooler, which is a cup of the lime ice cream with Sprite poured around it, and a couple of sliced maraschino cherries with a slice of lime on top, which was what I chose this time, and it was perfectly on point. I live in California with my husband now, and there are so many great creameries here with original favors like orange ginger and lavender cream, but that lime ice cream from Daley Freeze will always be something I crave! :) read more

It's quite discouraging when you can go to a home town place and get worse service than a fast food chain. We have a broken car window so we went to the front window, in the cold. My boys waited 5 minutes to get help and nothing, not even an acknowledgement that they were there. As soon s they come to the car, out of the cold, someone comes to the window and instead of seeing if they still wanted something (our car door was open), they just helped the next guy in line. RUDE!!! We left! Apparently they only had two people working at 12:15 pm...lunch time! Understaffed, this new management/ownership is really pulling the place and reputation down. read more

My husband and I were out driving, and decided to stop in. We ordered their grilled cheese meal, which seemed to be a special. Lady walked out to our car, husband said "two grilled cheese meals" she says okay. We get up to the window, pay 8.60 and get tiny grilled cheeses and some fries. We asked for our drinks, and she said drinks only come with the meal, and we ordered grilled cheese and fries. She was so adamant we were wrong, we didn't want to argue. Ordered two grill cheeses neither of them were cooked. The cheese was still in slices and cold. The fries also were to salty. This was a sad experience because I usually love their grill cheeses. Wherever I go I like to try the local independent burger joints. This place has great fries. Instead of getting ketchup for them you get some kind of sauce that seems like a mix of mayonnaise and ketchup. It was weird, but I liked it. I've been a patron to this place since I was young. I have even defended this place. The last two times I've been here it seems it's going down hill. Last time our fries hadn't even been fully fried. They were still white. This visit we spent 30 minutes and they didn't even give us all our food. When she handed me the missing food of course it was cold. They offered to remake which is great but now our other food is cold. I could see the staff frazzled inside trying to figure out some other mess up as well. when i first moved here i was this place and thought SWEET! I love local food joints. I ordered just a hamburger and a shake and waited 30 minutes for it and my food didn't come out at the same time! I was very disappointed. The food was meh. Just for those folks that are passing through, just keep on moving because there isn't anything special here. The only thing this place has going for it is history. if you want a local place that is half decent go another mile south and go visit the Polar Queen. I love a good french fry, so when they put "the best frys in town" on their sign out front....I gotta try it. I waited at the window for about 5 minutes before the girl at the register even acknowledged my presence. She could have at least said " welcome, I'll be with you in a minute." But, I was totally ignored by her and another female employee. The fries were ok at best. Maybe they should eat at some of the other places in town, cause if theirs are they best.... Actually the fries at the bowling alley beat these things hands down! And the staff at the bowling alley is a lot friendlier. The freeze was good, but could have used more soda for better flavor. Nate: that yummy sauce that tastes like mayo and ketchup is exactly that! Born and bred in Utah as "Fry Sauce." just add a tinsy bit of dill pickle juice and you've got it made in the shade! I was makin' this yummy dippy sauce in the early 70's, and got the recipe from my very first boss at the "King of the Road" hamburger shop. We ordered a HOT fudge Sunday the girl held it in her hand and took the order of the person at the other window, them brought it when she was done. It wasn't a HOT fudge Sunday anymore. We waited an hour for our burgers, fries, shake and salads. The girls in the back were seriously just staring at everyone in line and not cooking. It was actually kinda funny how horrible it was. After waiting an hour, our salad came with no dressing, which they said they were out but we could have some tartar sauce or fry sauce.. to put on our salad. The orders were wrong, but they threw in a random scone, so that was a plus. The ambience matched the service, a random stray dog came in from the street and begged for food and nuzzled up to my kids with its tumor nose. We sat on tables in the parking lot, nestled up to overflowing garbage cans while multiple car alarms went off around us in the parking lot next to us. I like Daley Freez, it's a great local eatery. Burgers & fries & such. I just wanted to point out something that has bugged me. Each time I've been there, I've been unpleasantly surprised at the last second, when I try to hand over my credit card, only to have them point at the "Cash Only" sign. This is a great little place to stop and get a burger and fries. My personal favorite is the Malibu chicken. Why, oh why, do I continue to order food from this place? First would be convenience. I live less than a half mile from them. Second, fast service. If you call ahead, it is usually ready when you get there. Third, nostalgia. I grew up eating Daley Freez from about age three...Pup Pups! Otherwise known as a corn dog. Later on, I worked 2 1/2 years through high school. And had the opportunity to try every menu item! i developed my favorites over the years and those are the things I tend to order most. Over the past couple years, I have had very few positive experiences with the food. One night the order was Halibut Fish & Chips, Patty Melt and corn dogs. The fish and onion rings were way over cooked. Dark brown, almost. The meat patty on the Patty melt was almost black on one side and was so dry as to be inedible. Corn dogs were soggy in the center and cold as well. One thing I have noticed with my most recent call in orders is that my food will be ready in 2-3 minutes. There is no way possible that even remotely fresh food would be ready in two minutes. A Foot Long Hotdog, made to order, was completely cold in the center. There is no way that dog spent sufficient time on the flat top! Which leads me to tonight's order. A Steak Sandwich with specifically added cheese (as the Steak Sandwich does not have it). And a Pastrami Sandwich with cheese only. The "meat" on the steak was overlooked and dry. It seems that to make a mess of the meat like that, it must have been cooked prior then reheated for my sandwich, which came WITHOUT my requested cheese. The "steak " patty was also very small. It did not come even close to filling the regular size sandwich bread The pastrami was thin, chewy, stringy and obviously over cooked. And I could have driven a couple more miles to Gandolfo's for an AMAZING Pastrami Sandwich. Fool me once...... Don't expect this 50+ year patron to be fooled again. Sad, so sad! read more
