I was in Dallas for my little sister's high school graduation last weekend. Since she was the graduate, she picked the restaurant for lunch, so we wandered over to Mockingbird Station and had lunch at Dallas Grilled Cheese Co. I've been to one or two grilled cheese restaurants in the last few years, and I never get too excited about them. But the menu at Dallas Grilled Cheese Co. surprised me, definitely a more creative than average take on the grilled cheese restaurant concept! My family and I shared the appetizer combo (fried green beans, fried mushrooms, and cheese curds). It was good! The fried green beans and mushrooms were a surprise hit with everyone (even the mushroom haters among us). Then we were on to our grilled cheese-s. They have a really broad selection from classic (takes on the grilled cheese that are just cheese and bread and maybe a condiment) to more creative/out of the box options (from takes on a tuna melt and a Cuban to a brie grilled cheese, a grilled PB&J, a pimiento cheese grilled cheese, and more). Between the six of us, we tried 5 (two of us ordered the same sandwich): their bacon jalapeno popper grilled cheese (gooey and delicious), the Cattleman's grilled cheese (with smoked brisket), the two-pork grilled cheese (with ham and bacon), the bacon cheddar ranch, and the The Dude (this was mine - it's a take on a Sloppy Joe grilled cheese). Everyone enjoyed their sandwiches, but I'd say in general that these are huge and heavy. I think all of us but one only finished one half of our sandwiches. We asked for four boxes and figured my dad would be eating half grilled cheese sandwich leftovers re-toasted in a toaster oven for meals for days. We enjoyed the sandwiches and the appetizers, but the sides were a mixed bag. The sweet potato waffle fries were a hit, but the fries and onion rings were a miss for us (fries too limp and soft, onion rings overbreaded - breading to onion ratio way off). The service was good, and the place was comfortable. With TVs playing sports, a good beer list, and plenty of tables, I could see this being a good place to enjoy a meal and a few beers while you watch a game. (Speaking of drinks, we did enjoy a couple of Dallas Blondes and a couple of Bloody Marys as well!) Overall, I can see why my baby sister picked it. It was a fun meal.
Reliving my childhood one bite at a time. This cool concept brings a childhood favorite to life with a twist. I decided to keep it fairly simple and just order a pimento grilled cheese. It was super cheesy and delicious. Also if you're a sweet tea addict like myself they have great tea!! The team here also works pretty fast to get you seated & served!
Stopped by before catching the train to the American Airlines Center for a Mavs game. We ordered the Cattleman's brisket sandwich, a PBJ, basil tomato soup, fries, and a spinach berry salad. We especially loved the BBQ sandwich--the bread was buttery, toasted, and Texas-sized. The brisket was flavorful, though we wouldn't have minded a little more of it! The spinach berry salad was fresh, with sweet strawberries, blueberries, candied pecans, and tangy crumbled blue cheese. The fries were fine, but a bit on the soggy side. Our sever was nice and friendly. This place has a casual and inviting vibe, with a cozy, rustic feel. It's a delightful spot to grab a quick bite or hang out with friends.
Was out with a couple buddies and picked DGC at the recommendation of a local security guard. Service was great, everyone was very warm and welcoming, and food was delicious. We were primarily served by Matthew, who was very quick, very friendly very and helpful. He also provided a couple of great recommendations at our request, and both of his recommendations were just what we wanted. Restaurant interior was warm and homey, and the warm dining area was a refreshing break from the winter cold. Would go again. Greatly recommend the Grilled Mac & Cheese Sandwich with chopped brisket.
Decided to finally try DGC after passing it a few times, we have a place in Chicago that has a similar concept that I am a big fan of so I thought that could be the case here. I ordered the Cattleman's Grilled Cheese (brisket, muenster, gouda, yellow cheddar on Rustic with BBQ sauce on the side), fries, strawberry lemonade and the blueberry pound cake. I received a regular grilled cheese, no muenster, no gouda, and DEFINITELY no brisket. Wouldn't order the fries again, no idea what was going on with the seasoning here. The strawberry lemonade was pretty good, for delivery orders would probably recommend no ice as it was a bit watered down. I like that the blueberry poundcake came deconstructed so that the sauce didn't make it too soggy. That's probably the only thing that I would consider returning for.
Love this creative idea! Have been a few times and enjoy the creative takes on a grilled cheese. So much for everyone to enjoy. I got a grilled Mac N cheese sandwich. It was standard- similar to how I have made these at home. Grilled sourdough and thick mac n cheese. They did good getting the consistency right. I had to add pepper but they anticipate that and have it available on the table. My companions ordered the Dude, a sloppy Joe and cheese, and said it was fair. My other ordered Brisket Grilled cheese. They said it was delicious. Service was courteous but confusing. They have a QR code on the table to order via TOAST but then say they want you to use the servers after we already started our order. It was a busy Saturday night. They should not confuse ppl like that. Nor waste their money on technology. Also the wait for the food is longer than I expect for "fast casual". It definitely takes the fast out of the title. Service was quick, and attentive. Parking is limited and challenging. Bottom line- this is a great place to eat. PS they have a decent bar selection, bottled beer and cocktails
Overall we were very pleased! It's tough to get 5 stars from me, but our meal was super yummy, ingredients seemed fresh, our orders were correct, prices were fair, and service was decent. Our server did a great job given the circumstances but I only saw 2 people providing service for the whole restaurant at lunch on a Friday (on a holiday weekend). If the seats were comfy and they were better staffed, this would be 5 stars for me. The bread on the sandwich was cooked perfectly and tasted like quality bread. The Cattleman's had an awesome Smokey flavor with cheese that paired well, served with a yummy sauce. The grilled Mac n cheese was made with small noodles which worked well for the sandwich. Fries were cooked perfectly and I loved the seasoning on them. Now let's talk about that DGC special ranch though... c'mon... so tasty! I wanted to eat it on the grilled Mac n cheese. Lunch was so yummy! Parking could be a bit hairy on a busy day so give yourself a couple minutes. They had a full bar but I didn't partake. I will be back though! It was so good!
We went here on Mother's Day and they did not disappoint. The food was delish, the drinks were as well and the atmosphere was calm but welcoming. I'll be back since they have so many different options.

Our waitress Banessa came over to get our drink orders and was patient as we waited for for the last of our party. Once we all arrived she also got our food orders and helped answer questions to help us make our selections. We got cheese curds for the table to share. They came out hot and were delicious. They also come with marinara sauce and a ranch sauce that tasted like dill which was so yummy. For my meal, I got the value meal which included a specific grilled cheese sandwich, but you can upgrade the sandwich for a $2.50 upcharge, which I did. I opted for the wicked Tuna which was amazing. It is an elevated tuna sandwich with jalapenos and cheese. I also got the arugula salad which is simple but tasty; arugula, parmesan. salt, pepper, and lemon vinaigrette. This all for $13.50. I also got an adult beverage, tequila on the rocks, they were out of lime but it was still a good drink. They have a full bar and offer a variety of beverage options. If you are looking for a good grilled cheese , sandwich, or salad this is the spot for you.
I was looking for a quick bite and this was perfect! I had a pineapple cider that was on tap and a Buffalo chicken grilled cheese sandwich that was sooooo gooood! I was there at an odd time so was I was seated quickly by my server and the food was out fast. The price was good and the restaurant/bar was clean and had a brewhouse atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Stopped in for a late night snack after a night out at a bar nearby. I had the mac n' cheese and brisket grilled cheese. It was pretty tasty but very messy. I would have liked if the mac and cheese was a bit more creamy, it started to get a little dry with the noodles and bread. But the brisket was very good. Not a bad spot if your looking for gourmet grilled cheese. They have tons of options!
DGCC for lunch definitely hit the spot. It was actually my first time eating at the restaurant. I went ahead and ordered a sandwich with brisket and a tomato soup to go with. The food was good and had really great flavor. The service was also good. I honestly thought the place would have been a bit more busy since we were there around lunch time, but surprisingly it was not. It worked out pretty good. I will definitely swing by here more often to try something different.

The staff jumped right to attention when we walked in with 13 people. This place looked great. I mean, who doesn't love cheese? We were seated quickly and they worked fast to get our orders. The portions are large and the prices are very fair. We were served quickly and efficiently. There is a great selection of sandwiches and the lunch special of half sandwich and soup was a great idea. Several in our group ordered that. We ordered the caprese appetizer and that could have been lunch. Everything was fresh and delicious. We added the brisket to our Mac n cheese grilled sandwich and that was a great idea. The seating is perfect if you just want to drop by for lunch or with a group. You can't go wrong! read more
It was me and my family here for Easter sunday. Lydia was our server and she was very attentive to our needs. I had the DGC texas cheeseburger and it was good with the sweet potato fries. Its very small inside of the place but nice setting for 6 or less people. The restroom are very clean and even have a nice shelf for women's purses. The kids loved their grilled cheese. When I heard the name, my first thought was "I'm not a kid, I need a real meal" but I've never been more pleasantly surprised. I had the grilled Mac-N-Cheese and added brisket. I personally never want anything added to my Mac, but this was worth it. Well seasoned and a great portion size. I also got the French connection soup which had a few more onions in it than I thought necessary (wanted more soup and less onion) but it was also very tasty. The strawberry lemonade was probably the best I've ever had. Our server was on top of keeping our drinks filled and the food came out quickly. I'm not sure if that was because it wasn't a busy day, but hopefully this is a norm. This restaurant offered a chill vibe suitable for lunch or brunch. This is somewhere you can take the whole family. I will definitely be back. read more

This place pretty much had me at their bread + cheese combo so I knew it had to be a winner! Oh, and there are fries too, so that's my food weakness trifecta. Add on a full bar, and I'm a happy camper! The food was pretty good--I liked the different sandwich options. I went for the Bacon Chicken Ranch. Hubs got the Brie & Bacon. My salad was a bit sad (yes, I do like healthy food options as well as the carbs) so I wished for more there. But all in all, this is a solid spot! read more
Went here for lunch around 12:30p, and I was promptly seated. My server was Kim, she was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich with Sweet Potato fries. The sandwich was delicious, very flavorful and the bread was well toasted. The only negative was that the meat was not evenly distributed, had a big piece of sandwich with no filling. Giving a 5 star review, because we simply didn't have any problems while eating here. I've ALWAYS wanted to try this place, because grilled cheese and tomato soup is my go-to comfort food. I ordered "The Favorite" grilled cheese and the "DGC Old World Tomato Basil" soup. My partner ordered the "Buffalo Chicken" grilled cheese and the "DGC Fries". The grilled cheese and basil soup were DELICIOUS. The soup was the perfect mixture of a little chunky to just "soupy" enough to drink a little here and there. My partner liked the buffalo grilled cheese, but tried mine and admitted he liked it more... but could just be a preference. I would definitely recommend the Favorite and Tomato Basil soup combo, though! They're both considered * House Favorites * on the menu. The DGC Fries were a perfect mixture of both crispy and a little squishy, which I love. AND, they're sprinkled with an Old Bay seasoning. SO GOOD! We also ordered the "Peticolas Velvet Hammer" from the drink menu. It's a red ale with caramel, brown sugar & floral hops. Very good! This store location is smaller than I thought, but pretty roomy, and the service was very quick and our waiter was friendly and refilled our drinks often. The prices were also pretty cheap! It was a good sandwich, and was about $12. The soup was $5, and you get a lot for that price. The fries were $3. I'm looking forward to going back and trying more sandwiches! Juan was an amazing bartender and server... AMAZING! Sat at the bar and he was super sweet and gave good insight of the menu. Seemed like he served more tables than some of the other servers while still bartending and answer the phone. All around one of the best servers I've ever had. The food was super yummy as well! Fried green beans are a must order, and the soup would be a lot better with a grill cheese (even thought I didn't order one). Quiet lowkey place on a Sunday night, and this would be a great spot if they did trivia nights! All around great visit and would recommend. read more

I was encouraged by the photos. I walked and ordered for carry out. I couldn't figure out a website to order. They offer all the delivery services though. I ordered the Cattleman's Grilled Cheese. Brisket and cheese. Definitely tasty but could have used MORE brisket and MORE cheese. Mostly bread. Bummer. I also ordered the Parmesan fries. These could have been crispier. Just normal to me. I've had so much better. It was semi-busy inside. A bunch of people at the bar. They really only had soft drinks from a fountain for carry out. No bottled beverages. It was a miss for me. Drinks I had them make me a Paloma but I also got another drink that was delicious - wish I remembered the name! They have deals where certain drinks are cheaper which was great. Went back to DGCO and this is what I had expected on my previous visit! This visit we ordered something that wasn't on the menu but is one of my favorites, the grilled cheese stickers and tomato soup for dipping, so I asked Ray if they still make it and he assured me that they do. (Insert happy dance!) - we also went with the pretzel mozzarella balls to start with. We also ordered drinks which hit the spot! Our food came to the table all together, the food was hot, and everything looked great. However what was even better is that it TASTED GREAT!!! Then Ray suggested dessert and because at this point we were gluttons and had enjoyed everything placed in front of us, we thought sure, suggests something! He came with the Elvis - a banana, peanut butter and marshmallow sandwich . . . Talk about divine! The only thing that would take this over the top would be a little ice cream because if you have come this far, why stop now?? This place is amazing! My husband loves grilled cheese sandwiches so he chose this restaurant for his birthday. We're so glad we did. The service was great and the GM Michael is so kind and personable. The food was really delicious. We ordered the Cobb salad which was HUGE and it came with fried grilled cheese croutons We also had a classic grilled cheese with the best combo of cheeses and the finest bread and an order of grilled cheese sticks. We even had the most delicious dessert trio! I also love the ambiance and the area of this location because it has some of my favorite stores nearby. I will definitely return. read more

I got the brisket grilled cheese. They were a little stingy on the meat and the BBQ sauce had a strong chili powder and pepper flavor. Came here a second time to introduce our friends to some great grilled cheese sandwiches and all the variety! Our server was nice and attentive and took care of our large group well. I had the Via Domitia that was refreshing and savory. My partner has the Cattleman's and enjoyed it. We both had the waffle sweet potato fries and those were delicious as well. This is going to be a frequent pitstop before we go to the movies. read more

My husband and I went out to Oak Highlands Brewery on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy a couple of beers on their patio and much to our delight, the Dallas Grilled Cheese Co food truck was out there that day. We both ended up getting The Rustic grilled cheese sandwich which had three or four different cheeses, an order of fries and there cheese sauce for dipping. The grilled cheese is absolutely legit, the bread that they use was grilled to absolute perfection, so crunchy and delicious and the cheese of course was completely melty and gooey. Everything that you absolutely want in a grilled cheese sandwich, this is it!! The fries were really good but I wasn't totally crazy about the cheese sauce that we got for it, it was much more of a cheese gravy with Italian seasoning. It wasn't bad at all but I would definitely rate it three and a half out of five stars but everything else we got was absolute perfection. read more

Stopped in to grab a quick lunch on the way home. I enjoyed the Cattleman's Grilled Cheese on gluten free bread. It was exactly what was needed after a long hike. I love that they have the option of gluten free bread. I did find the grilled cheese to be a little dry but that was expected due to the type of bread it would definitely taste much better on non gluten free bread but I wasn't willing to deal with the side effects that day. Great menu selection made it hard to decide but gives me a reason to come back. Will be trying the Cubanesque next time. read more
