I had such a good time at the Red Oak Polo field a few weeks ago. I've never attended a polo match before and the players and attendees went above and beyond to help me understand the rules. I love polo and value clubs that respect both their players and their horses. Unfortunately, this club fell short on both. The facilities are run down, and horse care did not appear to be a consistent priority. More troubling was an incident of inappropriate physical contact by the club's owner, followed by a culture that seemed to normalize silence rather than accountability. Polo deserves better leadership, better standards of care, and an environment where all players--especially women--are treated with respect. read more

Love Dallas Polo Club! I first came out as a spectator, and quickly fell in love with the sport. I've been taking lessons for the past few months, and I'm learning so much! The instructors are the best! They totally make me feel comfortable and confident up on the horse. All the club members I've met so far are beyond welcoming and inclusive! The Dallas Polo Club offered a Groupon for a lesson for 5 people, so a group of us at work came together and we bought it and made an appointment for a lesson. It was fun, I guess. Part of our group wanted to learn how to play, and part just wanted to ride the horses around the arena, and they were cool with it. They make you sign a waiver and wear a helmet, but if you've never ridden before there's not a whole lot of instruction about actual riding. You'll need to know that you are in charge of the horse, not the other way around. (I've ridden before but I was seeing others struggle). Probably if you want to learn to ride a horse you should work on it somewhere else before taking polo lessons, but if you already know basics like how (and where) to hold the reins, how to turn and stop, (and be firm with the horse!) you will have fun doing this. Side note: All the saddles are English, so you don't have anything much to hold onto (I had only ridden Western so I had to get used to it). read more

Love this Club! I had no experience and learned to ride and play polo at the same time! Everyone was very friendly! I recommend trying it!

Dealing with the unprofessionalism and rudeness among the staff, I wouldn't recommend this place.
