Finally, an electrician that doesn't play games. One person operation with full accountability and…read morea 'let's get it done' attitude. Good communication either through email, text or phone. I had a bucket list of items that I needed help with. I got ridiculous quotes from other electricians, $2200, $2600, $2500. Marty came by, looked at the job and had decided the best course of action what to just do Time and Materials at his hourly rate. It saved him from underestimating/overestimating and I could manage the costs fairly. Items completed: 1. Deck Post light caps: Caseta switch installation. Also diagnosing some incorrect connections (I had made incorrect connections previously). Wiring an incomplete LV wiring run to complete a 'missing' section of lights. 2. Under deck puck lights: 15 Amp box and 2nd Caseta switch installation powering puck lights 3. Troubleshooting Magnitude MLV Transformer (found bad caseta switch and worked with Lutron support to diagnose and get replacement) 4. Installed heat tape on troublesome (ice/snow) roof section I got everything done for roughly $600.00. (I bought all the materials in advance ~$100 worth and did some "brain dead" stuff myself (like running 14/2 UF wire through existing conduit). In any event, I was thrilled with T&M as was he. I believed I saved roughly $1500 by spending an hour or two myself and having Marty come in for the rest. I think I found my new 'go to' electrician in my area. Fair, honest and hard working.

We were tight on cash and he took the time to set up the quote/ project in phases. I loved the long term plan* with EVERYTHING priced down to the penny, NO SURPRISES! Now how refreshing is that? It's been about a year since he finished "phase one" and we've gone all out ADHD on our home improvement projects, but when we finally make it back to finishing our smaller electrical projects, Marty's our man! *disclaimer: OBVIOUSLY prices will change as time passes! I will fully expect Marty to re-calculate the bottom line as we move through our future projects. THE POINT IS, you'll know upfront!

I have never had an issue with Cote Electric who serviced our generator for years. I missed the…read moreannouncement that they had become part of Heritage Home Services. I called Cote wondering why hadn't gotten by annual service contract renewal. They explained the change and told me about the Heritage Advantage Membership plan which provides discounts on repairs and purchases and discounts on maintenance. We signed up and had our first annual maintenance check since the change. Our service tech, Pharaoh, gave us a heads up that he was en-route, explained what he was going to do, how much it would cost and how long he expected it to take. He was very pleasant, completed the work promptly and cleanly. No complaints with the change to Heritage and will continue to use them for service.

Had a service agreement with COTE. Went fine the first year. Then, they were purchased by Heritage…read more Next year, no one calls. No reminder. No one comes out. I call to make an appointment and am told the price increased by over 50% (from $249 in March 2025 to $375 for March 2026). Is there a point to a service agreement if you still have to make an appointment and the price can increase by over 50% in one year? The answer is...nope. No point at all. So, I'm off to find a new service company. Here's some text from their contract (emphasis is mine): "Why should I sign up when I can just call each year for maintenance? If you call each year we will be glad to accommodate you and come and perform the PM for your generator. However, by not signing a contract you risk the possibility of a rate increase every year whereas A PM CUSTOMER IS GUARANTEED THE RATE FOR THE DURATION OF THE PM AGREEMENT (except for continuous maintenance which may be subject to rate increase). Also, PM customers are in our database and WILL NOT NEED TO CALL for PM service. A PM customer will also receive priority service, specifically when winter rolls around and we receive an increase in service calls. A PM customer will be charged a service rate of $105.00 per hr for any repairs needed, a non PM customer is charged $140.00 per hr" Note that they never called. And they immediately raised the rate. Can they do that? Yes, technically, because elsewhere they say this: "Labor will be at a rate of 80% of base rate, which is currently $140/hour and is subject to change without notice." So, yeah...they basically lie about the benefit of a service agreement and their agreement is entirely contradictory. I'd recommend you stay away from these guys. EDIT: They called me and told me that they had called to make an appointment and told me the date they called. I checked my phone (which is the number they told me they called) and my phone has no record of any call from them on that day. My text has no record of any text on that day. They also said that they had to raise their prices but offered me a comp service. I told them no thank you, as I found someone willing to do the service for very close to their old price. Therefore, I stand by my rating and review.

Mike came for the first round to work with our contractor to discuss the needs of the new kitchen, including GFI updates, kitchen island outlets and pendants, new LED recessed overhead lights, and under cabinet lighting and floor heating. They also made recommendations based on new codes coming into play over the next couple of years so that we would be compliant. That kind of attention to detail was most welcome. John, the Master Electrician who came to the house later, easily guided two young apprentices over 2 days of full-on work. John was amazing, listening to my questions, assisting me in last minute decisions, and making certain the customer was happy. John was very insistent in making sure we were happy and pleased with their work. His knowledge and background was priceless while I worked through the list of my wants and needs, he was very patient too, as I asked endless questions. They put in long days and protected our home while working cleanly and efficiently. It is rare to find such superior expertise these days, and I am grateful that Daigle Electric is willing to bring on young people into the trade and teach them properly.
