This is a little gem in the area. A simple look and bright ambiance this restaurant did not disappoint. Greeted and seated immediately by friendly staff. Now the chairs were a little worn but that didn't matter. Our server was very friendly and came to the table right away servers the drinks and took the order quickly. Let's talk about how quickly our meal came out. We ordered and 10 minutes later the food was at the table piping hot and ready to be eaten. The chicken was cooked perfectly and tasted good all the way through. The waffle was light and the cinnamon was a great added touch. Come here often because this location always has ample parking. Making a reservation through Yelp helped us to sit immediately during the Sunday brunch rush. Food came out quick and fresh. Our waitress was great and attentive even though it seemed like she had several tables. The only downside was I didn't love the Bellini because it tasted like it was made with sweet wine and one that was open for a while. There wasn't many bubbles. Amazing!! First of all, our server, Nikita was an absolute delight. I enjoyed the sweet potato waffle with the chicken fillet entree that I chose and thanks to our server, my companion chose the oatmeal waffle so that we were able to split each and try both. I will admit that both waffles were extremely similar and I wouldn't even know that they were different if I hadn't split them with her but it was still a great idea and I appreciated her kindness as she served us. Came here while in town for Dreamville. Stopped in for brunch. (Best to make an appointment on weekends) We came Sat morning and it was over a 45 min wait so we made an appointment for the next day. The food and service were so good. My friend and I both got chicken and waffles. I got the blueberry smash not knowing what to expect but it was so good I put it all over the waffle before the syrup. It is perfect as a butter addition to the waffle instead of blueberries inside. And then i got the whiskey drizzle which was another thing that made it pop. The food here is amazingly delicious! The food has so much flavor. I had The Dueling Rosters with a side of Ceci's cheesy mac. I also had the Baby Blueberry and Strawberry Crème smear. Everything I ate was so good. It tasted so good that my youngest helped me finish my lunch. It's not often that I feel like I eat a meal and every item is the star but this was the case with this meal. The mac and cheese was one of the more interesting and different flavored mac and cheeses I've ever had and I loved it. The staff was friendly and the wait wasn't long when we arrived. Went here after a recommendation from a friend. She recommended this location of Dames in particular. We stopped by on a weekend morning without a reservation with a party of 4 and were quoted a 45 minute wait - the wait was closer to 20 as we got seated quite quickly after walking around the shopping center. I ordered some food to go here. The chicken was phenomenal! Because it was a pick up order, I got to choose one sauce. I ended up doing the Calypso sauce. It was more like a BBQ. I would've likely chosen something else because I wasn't expecting a "BBQ-esque" type sauce but it still had very nice flavor. The chicken was seasons and fried perfectly! I wish I was able to order a combination of drumstick/wings in a single meal order that was coupled with a waffle. The only way I could do that on an online pick up order would've been to order multiple meals. The service was quick and they gave me everything I needed in my to go bag that I requested. I wasn't a huge fan of the sides. The Mac and cheese had a strong seasoning that I felt overpowered the Mac and cheese. It was also more "pasta like" and less like the thick and creamy Mac and cheese I'm looking for when getting soul food. The waffle didn't travel super well. It ended up being a little soft because of the way it was packed in the to go plate. It was okay but I think it would've been much better if I ate it at the restaurant fresh. I also ordered fruit. And I like how they actually let you know what kind of fruit they will be giving you. "Fruit" can be vague without a description. It's helpful to know what's included so I appreciated that. I'd been meaning to try Dame's Chicken and Waffles for a while and it just happened to be a few doors down from CapriFlavors. I was greeted when I arrived and seated right by one of the doors so it was cold at my seat and I noticed most of the other patrons had kept their jackets on. For some reason the door wasn't shut completely either. Service was friendly at first and my order came out fairly quickly but it was so slow to get the check. Groups that came in after me that had a different server left long before I received my check. There was a wait to get a seat at the restaurant by this point too. It was rather empty when I arrived. You'd think they'd want to turn over the tables. The tables did not seem too clean either. I went with the sweet potato waffle; a chicken cutlet and blueberry schmear. When it was brought out I could tell the chicken was overcooked. It wasn't just mine as I looked at what the other tables were getting. I didn't taste the sweet potato at all. 10/13/23: My boyfriend raved about this place for the longest time. He was dying to bring me & swore up and down that I'd love it. I think that review was a bit overrated. Though I love chicken & like waffles, this place was underwhelming. We were seated quickly. The place had a decent amount of customers eating and waiting on food. I took my time reviewing the menu. I thought they'd have more for me to choose from, but they didn't. They had all kinds of smears to go on the waffle but I just ended up ordering a waffle, wings, and regular butter with fruit on the side. My boyfriend got a waffle and chicken cutlet. The food came out WARM. The waffle & chicken wings were soggy. I ate what I could and then asked for a to go box. The waitress was doing a lot, so she was slow to check back on us, to bring the box, and to bring the check. When she finally brought the check, she ended up venting about other customers she had earlier who weren't the nicest. We get it but keep that to yourself. For the price of that food, we could've went to Chick-fil-A, saved money, & I would've been happier. The food just wasn't fresh & I don't like soggy food. Came here for brunch on a Monday and I was so exited to try it. After seeing pics online I could not stop thinking about this chicken, and they met and exceeded my expectations. The few yelp reviews that claimed the chicken was ehhh must have been stricken with covid and had no taste because the chicken was so juicy, moist and well seasoned! The waffle was good, but it was probably due to the shmear. I had the 3 wings on the classic waffle with blueberry shmear and k pop drizzle. Saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Boy, I'm glad I did. The whole family loved this place. Upon walking in, the space clean and nicely spaced out between tables. This is the Cary location of the infamous Dames Chicken and Waffles in downtown Durham and they are just as delicious! Freshly fried, crispy (without being overly breaded) chicken and moist waffles. With flavor packed butter shmears to top it off! Their collard greens are some of the best around, nice amount of spice. I always get the wings, sweet potato waffles and maple pecan shmear with calypso (spicy bbq sauce). And always always get the mean greens, they're a must! We were seated and greeted by Desmond (Des) on a sunny Friday morning. He was super friendly and went over the menu with us. He gave us his recommendations and we went with them! It was mostly empty when we arrived but not when we left. I had my usual shrimp and grits which is consistently good. The waitress said they gave me extra shrimp because they were out of chicken sausage. I was able to take leftovers because of the large portion. It was dinner for that day and still delicious. I was in the mood for something sweet and salty so we stopped into Dames for lunch. It was a Sunday so the wait was about an hour but we stopped into Bass Pro while we waited. Once our table was ready we went right over and was seated and waited on immediately. I decided to order a gingerbread waffle with the strawberry shmear and 3 chicken legs. Overall I enjoyed my meal but I was not impressed. I felt that $16 for a waffle and three chicken legs was a little much and the syrup was prepackaged smuckers. I just feel like if your main item is waffles you would want to provide quality syrup (kind of like cracker barrel's syrup). I really enjoyed my waffle the gingerbread flavor paired really well with the strawberry shmear and the chicken was crispy and had really great flavor. The cheesy grits were kind of bland and were served lukewarm so the cheese didn't melt to well. The mac n cheese had an interesting amount of spice that added a really nice flavor but was also served like warm so the cheese wasn't as impressive. My first time here and I loved it! I ordered the Fried Chicken Salad with homemade ranch dressing. It was amazing. I like having the option to get grilled chicken instead of fried chicken for my salad. Most places want you to take it as described on the menu. I stayed with the fried. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. I wish I'd taken a picture of my food before I devoured it. Table for 2 on a Saturday and we waited probably around 25-30 minutes... The good thing is that there is a coffee shop next door and a Bass Pro Shop so you can go for a retail stroll while you wait for your table to be ready. Our waitress, Maria was sooo sweet and helpful. She was nice and patient with us as we struggled to choose with all the menu options/combinations. Our other waitress the time was also amazing! Sooo nice and considerate. Made it point to check in on us and make sure we were straight (can't remember her name). Only negative thing about this place was the mimosas. Tasted as if was made with a flat, cheap champagne/sparking wine. But I'm fine with a regular drink to go with this good ass food. Their non-alcoholic flavored lemonades/teas are delicious!! I got the 4 whole wings with the seasonal strawberry cheesecake infused waffle with a side of the "mean greens." My friend had the Sassy shrimp and grits. The greens were on the spicy side, not my favorite but not the worst. The shrimp and grits were DELICIOUSSSSSS and flavorful throughout. From reading reviews, I was concerned about the wait and speed of service but neither presented a problem. We were warmly greeted and seated quickly. Our server was super patient in answering our many questions about the shmears and drizzles. I landed on making my own concoction with two cutlets, a sweet potato waffle and maple pecan shmear. It was delicious! Our food was literally at our table within 5 minutes from ordering, it seemed. My meal was enhanced by a pretty tasty peach mimosa. You have more options during dinner & weekend with the expanded menu, more premade options and sides included. During lunch you do have the options of Dueling Rooster and Light Brown Leghorns from the dinner/weekend menu, which is my favorite. I prefer the chicken legs over the wings. The chicken legs are SO JUICY with a satisfyingly crunchy skin. Honestly it's still the best fried chicken I've had anywhere. Plus the waffle, shmear, drizzle, and sides, makes such a great meal. Smaller than imagined. The Cary location sits in a strip mall next to Pro Bass Shops. Great landmark. Andre was great accommodating our large party. We all ordered the same thing except for 2. Lol. Reservations are strongly recommended as they open up at 10am on Saturdays. Sitting was comfortable with tables pulled together. There is also booth seating as well.
