Amazing!! First of all, our server, Nikita was an absolute delight. I enjoyed the sweet potato waffle with the chicken fillet entree that I chose and thanks to our server, my companion chose the oatmeal waffle so that we were able to split each and try both. I will admit that both waffles were extremely similar and I wouldn't even know that they were different if I hadn't split them with her but it was still a great idea and I appreciated her kindness as she served us. The sweet vanilla swear was to die for!! Also, the honey mustard was excellent and tangy, just as noted on the menu. Definitely would return!

Came here while in town for Dreamville. Stopped in for brunch. (Best to make an appointment on weekends) We came Sat morning and it was over a 45 min wait so we made an appointment for the next day. The food and service were so good. My friend and I both got chicken and waffles. I got the blueberry smash not knowing what to expect but it was so good I put it all over the waffle before the syrup. It is perfect as a butter addition to the waffle instead of blueberries inside. And then i got the whiskey drizzle which was another thing that made it pop. I got the greens as a side and they were good with a kick to them that was just perfect. I definitely had no to go box this time. lol

The food here is amazingly delicious! The food has so much flavor. I had The Dueling Rosters with a side of Ceci's cheesy mac. I also had the Baby Blueberry and Strawberry Crème smear. Everything I ate was so good. It tasted so good that my youngest helped me finish my lunch. It's not often that I feel like I eat a meal and every item is the star but this was the case with this meal. The mac and cheese was one of the more interesting and different flavored mac and cheeses I've ever had and I loved it. The staff was friendly and the wait wasn't long when we arrived. I would be mindful of going during busy times. If you've never eaten here, you're missing out and should definitely go.

Went here after a recommendation from a friend. She recommended this location of Dames in particular. We stopped by on a weekend morning without a reservation with a party of 4 and were quoted a 45 minute wait - the wait was closer to 20 as we got seated quite quickly after walking around the shopping center. Service was good and fast. Food came out super fast too. There were so many options for butter, which surprised me as a someone from the dc area. Can't wait to come back!

I ordered some food to go here. The chicken was phenomenal! Because it was a pick up order, I got to choose one sauce. I ended up doing the Calypso sauce. It was more like a BBQ. I would've likely chosen something else because I wasn't expecting a "BBQ-esque" type sauce but it still had very nice flavor. The chicken was seasons and fried perfectly! I wish I was able to order a combination of drumstick/wings in a single meal order that was coupled with a waffle. The only way I could do that on an online pick up order would've been to order multiple meals. The service was quick and they gave me everything I needed in my to go bag that I requested. I wasn't a huge fan of the sides. The Mac and cheese had a strong seasoning that I felt overpowered the Mac and cheese. It was also more "pasta like" and less like the thick and creamy Mac and cheese I'm looking for when getting soul food. The waffle didn't travel super well. It ended up being a little soft because of the way it was packed in the to go plate. It was okay but I think it would've been much better if I ate it at the restaurant fresh. I also ordered fruit. And I like how they actually let you know what kind of fruit they will be giving you. "Fruit" can be vague without a description. It's helpful to know what's included so I appreciated that. Overall I'd go again and likely pivot and try new sides. Definitely add this to your list but I suggest dining in for a more elevated experience.

I'd been meaning to try Dame's Chicken and Waffles for a while and it just happened to be a few doors down from CapriFlavors. I was greeted when I arrived and seated right by one of the doors so it was cold at my seat and I noticed most of the other patrons had kept their jackets on. For some reason the door wasn't shut completely either. Service was friendly at first and my order came out fairly quickly but it was so slow to get the check. Groups that came in after me that had a different server left long before I received my check. There was a wait to get a seat at the restaurant by this point too. It was rather empty when I arrived. You'd think they'd want to turn over the tables. The tables did not seem too clean either. I went with the sweet potato waffle; a chicken cutlet and blueberry schmear. When it was brought out I could tell the chicken was overcooked. It wasn't just mine as I looked at what the other tables were getting. I didn't taste the sweet potato at all. I did like the blueberry schmear. I don't see myself returning here for a meal again.

10/13/23: My boyfriend raved about this place for the longest time. He was dying to bring me & swore up and down that I'd love it. I think that review was a bit overrated. Though I love chicken & like waffles, this place was underwhelming. We were seated quickly. The place had a decent amount of customers eating and waiting on food. I took my time reviewing the menu. I thought they'd have more for me to choose from, but they didn't. They had all kinds of smears to go on the waffle but I just ended up ordering a waffle, wings, and regular butter with fruit on the side. My boyfriend got a waffle and chicken cutlet. The food came out WARM. The waffle & chicken wings were soggy. I ate what I could and then asked for a to go box. The waitress was doing a lot, so she was slow to check back on us, to bring the box, and to bring the check. When she finally brought the check, she ended up venting about other customers she had earlier who weren't the nicest. We get it but keep that to yourself. For the price of that food, we could've went to Chick-fil-A, saved money, & I would've been happier. The food just wasn't fresh & I don't like soggy food. Luckily my boyfriend is greedy and ended up eating my leftovers later that night. So, it didn't go to waste. They need more staff. Maybe the hostess can get off of her cellphone and pitch in from time to time. Every time I looked up at her, she was on her phone. I don't plan to go back.

This restaurant is always a delight. Everything on the menu is worth recommending. While the service can feel a bit slow at times, the perfectly seasoned and cooked chicken, along with the flavorful schmears (flavored butter), make the experience fantastic. Though the ambiance is simple and not particularly fancy, the quality of the food and service more than make up for it.

Build Your Own Chicken and Waffles with 3 wings, blueberry shmear, collard greens, strawberry lemonade mimosa

Came here for brunch on a Monday and I was so exited to try it. After seeing pics online I could not stop thinking about this chicken, and they met and exceeded my expectations. The few yelp reviews that claimed the chicken was ehhh must have been stricken with covid and had no taste because the chicken was so juicy, moist and well seasoned! The waffle was good, but it was probably due to the shmear. I had the 3 wings on the classic waffle with blueberry shmear and k pop drizzle. We also had a side of greens (so delicious) and the cheese grits (not seasoned and I would not order again). The strawberry lemonade mimosa was superb and the service was great. I'm definitely coming back. This is the spot I would take friends and family from out of town to.

Saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Boy, I'm glad I did. The whole family loved this place. Upon walking in, the space clean and nicely spaced out between tables. Our server was very nice and knew the menu inside and out offering what most customers and the staff liked. She didn't need a pen and paper and took our order which there were 7 of us. Food arrived within 10 minutes hot, fresh, and delicious!! We all left with full bellies!! I'm definitely coming back.

This is the Cary location of the infamous Dames Chicken and Waffles in downtown Durham and they are just as delicious! Freshly fried, crispy (without being overly breaded) chicken and moist waffles. With flavor packed butter shmears to top it off! Their collard greens are some of the best around, nice amount of spice. I always get the wings, sweet potato waffles and maple pecan shmear with calypso (spicy bbq sauce). And always always get the mean greens, they're a must! Service is always top notch and the dining area is nice and bright.

We stumbled upon this place while looking for a tropical smoothie lol it's right next door but we opted to try this place for breakfast. I am SO glad we did!!! We were seated and greeted by Desmond (Des) on a sunny Friday morning. He was super friendly and went over the menu with us. He gave us his recommendations and we went with them! We ordered the Oatmeal vegan waffles, cheese grits; 3 wings each, and collard greens. The waffle was SOOOOOO YUMMY and the wings were seasoned perfectly!! I had the maple pecan shmear and vanilla almond syrupy thing to top my waffle. It was so darn good and Des was super cool, helpful, and awesomely attentive to us! Great Food Great Service Great restaurant I will definitely dine here the next time I'm in NC!

Every plate was visually impressive and thoughtfully composed. Unfortunately, that is where the positives largely stop. The food was bland or oddly prepared, with flavor combinations that did not work. There was not a single dish on the menu that I enjoyed. I could have prepared a better tasting meal with my hands tied behind my back. The hamachi was described as having wasabi, yet there was no heat or spice at all. The beef was cooked perfectly from a technical standpoint but completely under seasoned. The beet dish, described as a celebration, was unpleasant. The quail was mediocre and forgettable. Service was polished but incomplete. At no point during the delivery of each course did anyone ask how the food was. In a fine dining setting, that absence is noticeable. Part of me was relieved not to be asked, but it also gave the impression that the staff already knew the meal was overpriced and under delivered. By the end of the evening, I was eager to leave and questioning whether I would ever return. The experience leaned heavily on concept and presentation while failing at the most important element: flavor. For a restaurant of this reputation and price point, this was a major disappointment. --

Our server always kept our drink full, and checked on us just enough. We never felt like we were searching for her. Looking at the menu, I was surprised to see that the prices were not unreasonable, even though it's a very trendy place. in fact, they had a $10ish lunch menu available with a few selections that even included a drink. I was more in a lunch mood so I went that direction, and got a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Food came out hot and in a reasonable time even with a full restaurant, so this is a well oiled machine. For the price, I was pretty impressed. I would say the sandwich was about the size of your average CFA chicken sandwich, but had a bold buffalo flavor that I liked a lot. They didn't skimp on the fries, and the ranch complemented it perfectly. We finished up and our server was on top of things getting us the check, so really we still made "good time" on our drive to the coast. I would recommend Brunches to travelers and locals alike!

The study is quiet and comfortable, while the main restaurant area was noticeably louder. The proximity allows you to enjoy the ambiance without the noise. The menu offerings felt fairly typical for this style of restaurant. We tried the skillet cornbread. It was served room temperature and on the dry side. However, the whipped butter that accompanied it was excellent. Unfortunately, the cornbread was not warm enough to melt it, which would have improved the experience. The Italian wedding soup was very good and served properly hot. We also ordered the local lettuces salad with chicken. The salad itself was fresh, but the chicken was visibly dry and tasted the same. Interestingly, placing the chicken into the soup made it more enjoyable. The double cheeseburger was average. The bun struggled to hold together under the two patties and cheese. The flavor was acceptable but not memorable. Our server was exceptional. Attentive, professional, and gracious throughout the meal. The service elevated the the mediocre experience. Overall, Peck & Plume offers a beautiful setting and excellent service. For a quieter meal, request the study/library seating. While the food was satisfactory, it did not quite match the charm of the surroundings. Would we go again? Maybe. If we did, we would order different items. But, we would request Brian as the server.

I have been to Postino many times before, but this was my first time at the Raleigh location. While it's been 4 years since I've had Postino and the menu has changed a little, the bruschetta board is still a permanent fixture. We ordered a bruschetta board for an appetizer and I ordered the half panini & half salad for my entree. The bruschetta board is a must order because you can get 4 different kinds. The top tier choice is the salami pesto one. It's my absolute favorite. For my panini, I got the caprese one on ciabatta bread and the half of the mixed greens salad. The salad was delicious. This was a ton of food and felt very satisfying. I always love the vibe of Postino's, but this location was way too dark with only a small candle at the table. Service started off good and we were able to order our food without a problem. However, our server was done with his shift right after we ordered so we got a new server. Our new server had no idea we already ordered and was a little behind coming to our table for water refills. Despite that, we were in and out of the restaurant within 45 minutes. Postino is surrounded by other shops and restaurants, so they had a ton of parking available outside the restaurant. Highly recommend this place if you want good food!
